Thank you XDAdev Vibrant Forum - Vibrant General

Didnt know where to put this, so I put it in General.
After days of reading the forums, Id like to thank all of you here for your help in rooting my Vibrant!
Aside from the main members here, I wanna especially thank Teamwhiskey for their BionixV 1.2.1 i'm now running, s15274n for the Noob guide, and bay_wolf for the Vibrant toolbox!
I'm gonna take a break here from toying with it and enjoy my Twiz-less UI lol

Much Thanks

I'm very new to modding my G1, and this site was an enormous help. By reading around, I kinda got the feeling that some of the vets were getting annoyed by the hand holding they were being asked to do by alot of the newcomers. Also, by reading a few posts, I was able to root my G1, install a custom theme, and update my radio and all that manually. I'm happy to say this is my first post, and ikt's not a stupid question (maybe a frivolous thank you??). Thank everyone that contributes to this site. You guys are awesome.
As I've done before, I thank you for actually doing it yourself and not asking to be spoon fed and having your hand held as you said. Hope to have you around here for awhile. If you ever run into any problems PM me and I would be glad to help, if I can.
Yes sir...

Thanks to Sombionix and Viralblack

Thanks to Sombionix for all your work on the Bionix ROM and the clear installation directions even a noob like me can follow. Thanks also to Viralblack for the post at Cyanogenmod forums suggesting this and other gems to make the Vibrant uber powerful. The developers on here rock hardcore. My phone now makes me extremely happy. I think I'm developing an unhealthy relationship with it...
why dont u thank him in his Bionix thread

While your at it, thank him with a donation. These Dev's put in A LOT of hard work and LONG hours to make these ROM's what they are, they don't ask for anything in return, so a little coin now and than never hurts.
I just did. Thanks for the suggestion, Dragoth

[Q] What todo with Rooted 2.2.1 Froyo Epic4g

ok so i have a brand new samsung epic that i just updated to 2.2.1 Froyo, then I used a one click root to root my phone................ so now what? what does rooted & 2.2.1 allow me todo someone please help me? whats the point of superuser? how do i get apps in there? i also read alot of forums about a viper room that scores 2000 something on the quadrant test, how do i get the viper rom on my phone? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!!
The biggest thing that i really want is this clockwork mod i think thats what it is called, it makes your home screen look like the Evo with the big clock & weather feature, id really like to get that.
Please read the stickies before you post. This is Android DEVELOPMENT. Questions belong in the General section.

Look, if you don't know what root is, or does, then you shouldn't have rooted your phone until you completly understand the process and what its meant for... and its not Viper room... its VIPERrom! Use the search button!!!
And quadrant scores mean NOTHING!!! Its been proven to be a faulty system designed for the Evo, noob.... You should really go over to the General forum, cuz if you keep askin questions like above, your gonna get stomped on by the community here... FYI..

+1. Thought about stomping on him myself but appreciate you doing it for me.
Thank you Google for bringing us every kid out there that has searched for "epic 4g froyo". Oh and if you're still looking for answers, try taking a look around the general forum. Take a look at the wiki
where are the mods when you actually need them?
Whosdaman should be on this soon.
@OP - sorry for the blatant responses, but people post incorrectly in this forum daily and I suppose it has just got on everyone's nerves more and more over time.
Please post questions in General Section.

Noob I Am...kind of..

Hello, I'm a noob to rooting, but figured I'd slip in a hello, I barely got my Evo 4G rooted with Revolutionary since going to 2.3. I used to do a lot of iPhone jail breaking and figured this would be the same....I'm learning that it's not...still not sure what a kernel really is hah, anyway, yeah. Hello.

I was getting ready to post a question, then i searched it and there was my answer, but it came with a new question....which the answer was found the same way, people weren't kidding about this site when they tell me you can literally find anything here. Looking forward to getting more active here. Cheers.
Welcome to android. This site has really helped me learn a lot and I now feel comfortable modding all sorts of things on my evo. And like it was said, always search. There is a ton of info on here and if you can't find an answer, there are plenty of people to help

Hello and welcome! Lots of info here, just start browsing.
Welcome. Agree with the OP about reading.
What I did to help me learn before rooting my Evo was to just read through the threads in Q&A and General. It gave me a lot of small bits of information that I didn't find in the guides and stickies, and really helped me familiarize myself with what I was getting into. Once I started knowing the answers to some of those questions, I tried to help out. That's really helped me to continue learning.
I'm in the process of doing it again for my boyfriend's Thunderbolt, trying to decipher what small differences there are between the two devices. I know it's usually the other way around - the boyfriend does the rooting stuff for his girl - but we're a couple of odd birds.
Anyway, great to see someone new taking the initiative to search out their questions! It's refreshing to say the least. Welcome to XDA

I had to help my boy root his Thunderbolt and I just skimmed through the Thunderbolt threads for a root method that look similar and one that a lot of people seemed to say had little to no problems and went with it. He came from an Iphone as well and now has become quite a flashaholic. Every time I see him he has a new theme or trying new stuff. From what I have seen from that forum we share some of the same developers so it should not be an issue for you.
Honestly I know a lot of people get scared when messing with their phone but most things are common sense and if in doubt a search in here will help you out. Always read the OP over and over till you feel you got it down....
Enjoy and welcome to Android and XDA ...

I second this as well. Really helped me out at first.

Thank you devs

Recently, I've been noticing lots of flaming and trolling goin on in XDA....people are forgetting what this site is about....so I just wanted to say thank you to the devs. Thank you for your hard work, and awesome results. I am rocking the CM7 swag (sorry, saw that in someones sig and I liked it, lol) on my Atrix, and the beta has been flawless for me. I have been able to answer my own questions by reading and using "search"...and Google search can be your best friend too. There is an excellent NOOB guide posted on this forum also, very helpful. Thanks to the Guy that took the time to do that. You hard working peeps rock, and I am loving your work!
I would also like to say thanks to all the devs on here, so their threads aren't filled with even more rubbish posts. Thank you to all the devs on here for your time and patience! I'm rocking the CM7 swag too and i'm just in love! Thank you again!
Word to all that.
Double that thanks devs!
Sent from my kickass Atrix 3.5G!
I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling a group hug coming on. /wrists
hehe. Thanks to all those who make this community what it is, and for all the hard work everyone puts into it.
Thanks Dev. And people who contribute via donations or helping the people who ask questions that are legitimate. And haven't been covered. I personally couldn't have the patients to put up with all the bickering here but some how you guys do and I <3 for it (no homo)
-CM7.1 Beta Over Clocked via Faux123 1.3ghz V2.0 AcrticBlue themed. THANKS XDA DEV!
