Well nobody is going to pay so much for a used one when a brand new Qtek S110 (that is a magician with 128MB RAM preinstalled) goes for around $400. Better drop another $100 or you won't find anyone. Besides, try eBay - better for that kinda stuff.

Any reason that this is now the G1 Forum (HTC Dream: G1), or was it a mistake?

It is DREAM, nothing else.
"G1" is for retards ONLY.

Yeah it needs to be put back to "Dream", "G1" is incorrect and offensive.
G1 is a trademark of T-mobile and not the model name of the phone.
Don't see a "G1" here: http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx
Apart from anything else, I usually get here by:
alt+d d r e down enter, which is now broken (I start in "Dream development")

and the sapphire is now called HTC Sapphire: myTouch 3G, Magic
so is mt3g's 32a or 32b cause my magic is 32b uk version no point me looking there as most roms are 32a based

I actually preferred it with the Generic (Read as NOT T-Mobile's names) names for the phones

It wasn't like that when I went to bed, and I noticed they did the same thing to the kaiser section as well, changing it to Tilt, TyTNII, yada yada yada, Kaiser.
I think it is stupid as well. It is like they just put up a huge neon sign calling all n00bs.

It wasn't like this 5 min. before I posted this thread, it is new today. Now instead of searching "Dream Android Development" to get to xda easily after a wipe I have to find the next thing that will work.

I agree with everyone; this change absolutely sucks. It must be part of their effort to have include non-thc phones? Hell the same phone can have the 4 different carrier names, are they going to have sections for all of them?

Reviving an old HTC

Well, I'm about to buy a HTC HD2 (the t-mobile version) to repair it, (like a hobby thing), anyway, the phone seems to have the LCD broken, the digitizer seems ok (but as far as I know they aren't expensives, like U$S 15), So here are the questions:
I want to buy the LCD replacement, but I'm not sure which one (I know I have to buy the T-mobile version) but some seems to require soldering a connector, and others don't, also do I need special tools for opening the cellphone? Is there any guide on the internet that you could recommend me? and how much should I paid for the Lcd? any other advice? Thanks!

you can probably open it without using special tools, altough you will need T9 screw drive if im correct, here's a video of official assembly/disassembly video leaked by HTC. pocketnow[dot]com/hardware-1/official-htc-hd2-disassembly-assembly-training-videos-leaked
LCD and digitizer is glued together, theres a video there showing how to take it apart i think.

Yeah sorry about that. I just spent like at least twenty minutes to get that link to work and for some reason it just would not so I just copied and pasted the URL. I have never had that problem....... Aghhhhhhh. Anyway sorry again.

Could you all of you who that unfortunate enough to have the cracked lense on the camera post your Serial Number in here? What region your in also. . . Then we can determine if its batch related etc etc. And maybe then something could be done about it. . .
I wont post my serials as it has not happened to me. But please do, it may help some of you out. . .
MODS: Maybe you could make this into a Sticky as it now is becoming more common.

This thread actually serves a purpose. If we can determine which batch of phone are affected we can possibly help HTC fix the problem.

This thread is useless. You cant pinpoint a broken camera on batch numbers. Its not the same or as widespead as the gap issue. ITS COMPLETELY RANDOM
Blame it on your mail carrier if you have to place blame. Maybe you should try to get the ups or fedex unique warehouse number that handled your box?

Most people just do a quick post on this forum when doing so from a phone..auto text sometimes maybe the cause , being in a rush or english might not be their first language don't be so anal...
On this matter I strongly believe it was poor handling or someone leaned the glass on a rough hard surface maybe a key while the phone is in ones pocket..close this thread pointless

actually if some of you bothered to read, this is a spinoff thread from a previous one thats ALL about random users with lenses that cracked out of nowhere. Ill sum it up for you. Theres about 15 of us thus far...and all of us happen to have the same batch number except for one. All of us have the FA34 batch. man, this site has a lot more idiots than I thought.

FA34 covers an entire month's worth of production from that factory. You've narrowed it down to April! Yay!
If the thread that you reference already contains all the information you are reposting here, then there is no need for this thread.

Yes this thread is now useless and now should possibly be closed...
BUT... when i created this thread last month, there were alot of disputes about the camera lens, and nobody was posting serials etc etc... so i thought it may be useful...
Aslo, why does one have to pick up on peoples spelling or gramma? Some people could really take that to offence.. ever heard of stupid predictive text? Dyslexia? not just a bad education man!

I can see the reason for this thread, but it has been ruined. It is obvious from the other thread that a decent number of people on xda have a broken camera cover. It's a real issue, not people mistreating their phones. I mean how the hell do you break the lense cover anyway? Maybe if you're really unlucky and don't use a case... But with a case on?
Anyway, the other thread is going much better than this one.

I heard from another website that the cracking is caused by the expansion of the aluminum when it gets hot.
