[port] honeycomb keyboard. see attachment - Android Software Development

i am not very good with decompiling apk's and development. but i have the 3.0 keyboard. is there anyway it can be ported to 2.2?

Id really like to see this working on 2.3 as well.

Get an error stating "There is a problem parsing the package" when trying to install.
I'd really like to get this working.

I've had a quick look at the apk, and I tried decompiling using apkmanager. Sadly, it brings up an error and an exception. Until we can find a way past this, we may be stuck.
I'll keep trying though, there might be a way past it.

Bump for more info

What process is needed to get this working? What is it called and/or what references are needed?

I think we should wait until google pushes Honeycomb to AOSP, then we will have the source to port it.

I'm currently somewhere in lower Mississippi on the big river with my high tech 1x service. -100 dbm. Search for it. There's an old one in the hero cdma forums.
Didn't you say there was a rom for the evo? Pull the file from it and try an install or a push.

lol, i dont understand what your looking for. do you want a stock rom with sense like you had when you got the phone but rooted? or do you want a senseless rom like cm7? now i've seen the term STOCK tossed around.
I think he's looking for a true aosp rom that's just google code with it modified to work for the shift... I came from a hero recently and we had a true aosp rom with no frill like you would have found on a nexus one. It was great... fastest thing in the world... like doing a clean install of windows xp or 7... I too wish to see one on the shift... I know evervolv is aosp but its modified with themes and tweaks but its as close as we have I think...
I think as the phone picks up some development someone will put out a true aosp rom... just give it time?
Would love to see the full potential of this phone with just an os though

Did you do a search before posting this? A thread about this has already been made here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107647.
Yeah! Did you even try to search for the news that you had no idea existed before today?!?!?!!? GRRR it makes me soo mad that people aren't psychic and don't search for news that hasn't happened yet!
(that was sarcasm)
Thanks mtnlion, it's news to me. It's pretty cool that HTC has been becoming a lot more friendly with the modding community as of late. I wonder if this will trickle down to our little Aria community.
Just did twice from the app.didn't get the thread you linked.its been my experience that searching from the app doesn't always yield the results you think it would. So if someone is just following the aria forum they see this thread then know what to look for.

I desperately wants senses "in call" screen intergrated into cm
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
There seems to be a lot of confusion about what this announcement actually means. HTC is allowing application developers to create applications that can utilize the features of Sense directly. They are NOT making Sense open source nor are they allowing Sense to be added arbitrarily to any phone or ROM. Non-Sense ROMs don't benefit in any way from this.

I'm no big fan of HTC, but I'd say Sense since it would be a nice change that I didn't see on my phone before. But well, since sources for Sense are not available, this won't happen in the next time.
To be honest, I can't think of a mod we didn't already see. CM6/7 and MIUI are already ported, you brought us Touchwiz and Dellstage.
You could try porting Arc UI since there's no near-to-complete build atm.

The HTC desire is exactly like the nexus one so it wasn't a big deal and u even have many devs....
Moreover porting a custom UI is not abt the bin , lib , etc but u have to change the change Apk and framework as they are not framework independent

[Q] Cyanongenmod for Continuum?

So the Continuum has no Cyanogenmod what so ever. And the Samsung Admire already has a CM7 like theme and it makes it look and run amazing. it's a newer phone and already has it. Think there is a chance of creating a CM7 for Continuum? Will using The Fascinate CM on Continuum work? How long does it take to create a CM?
Just noticed I messed up the name when asking the question. >.< My apologies.

Any rom port you would have to intergrate the ticker screen into it somehow or mod kernel with out it. Id love to see your port tonight. My continuum service is off so ill beta. What do you need for the kernel? I got it all. Initramfs is in zImage also. Got that too. So let me know
Sent from my SPH-M580BST using Tapatalk 2
Hey Ciscoo!!
Like Cisco said, it isn't a matter of If or When, but rather it's How.
Our phone has one screen from the top to the bottom of the ticker. There lies the issues. There are no dedicated "Hard Keys", only soft keys located between the main screen and the ticker. The coding needed to not only insert the softkeys(it is already in other ICS builds), but to also position the keys correctly on the screen is very tough. Whether this is located within the kernel or in the framework, i am unsure of as well. To prevent going into to much detain, At one point in time i had the CM7 source downloaded and ready to start compiling and messing around, however the more research i did the more i realized i didn't have nearly enough experience, and eventually i put that project to the side.
Likewise, I now have a DroidX running CM9 and my continuum running debellare is so much faster and more stable that the X. My recommendation? Install one of the stripped down roms we have created, install one of CISCOES themes, and then if you want further mods, install a new launcher.
If you want more, open up the framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk; Get a smali decompiler and start looking inside.
Just compiling is much harder than you think.
If i remember correctly someone had moderate luck porting a Fascinate build over and running it. It ran, but didn't "work".
