Usins ShadowFrost, and I'm not keen on the battery icon, and I can't read notifications as the writing is black as well as the status bar.
I tried flashing the .zip of the FRF83 black status bar from the DeFrost rom, but I get:
e:wrong digest fpr meta-inf/manifest.mf in meta-inf/cert.sf
Anyone know of a different or the same status bar that works?

I know they're both for FRF72, but it's the best I've got. :/

hmm mabey beacuse ShadowFrost 2.1 and that black bar is for 2.2
if you want to get the black bar for 2.1 you have to open ShadowFrost.zip and go to system/framwork/framework.apk and in that apk file you need to find the status bar. if you can wait i can fix an .zip update with the black status bar to 2.1 or you can do it yourself

ShadowFrost is at 1.0 (2.2 FRF83) right now oO
Also, I found the black AND white (in case something goes awry) status bars for FRF83.
White and black.

I've been looking everywhere for this mod. No luck. If anyone knows where to get it, please share. Official is the absolute stablest rom and I don't have time anymore to use custom roms

Try this, its not certified for stock ROM. But i'm using it on a Deodexed Stock 4.0.4 rom and it works fine. I only tried the battery mods and some how it adds the notification toggles as well.
If you are on a stock odexed ROM then stay away from these mods. and try widgetsoid from the play store instead.
**Always make a nandroid back up before attempting any mods

Here's new MOD for ICS Aurora status bar. Now we have full screen notification bar when pull down status bar. It's working on all Aurora version 5 based ROMs.
This is a clean version , i have not change the battery icon or get transparent on status bar yet. I will make some changes on icon and status bar colors when i have free time J

Did you mean the icon above the lock icon ?
Yeah you have 5 shortcuts on top i don't know what that lock does.

Oh, lock icon means "Go to Sleep" , you can add it from Setting/Notification Drawer/Widget button.

Thanks for sharing Hung... been using this mod since yesterday.... IMO the transparency level is too high... Can I lower down it by myself? cause I saw some overlapping information from notification itself and my desktop....

New status bar working awesome , but I have a problem.
I have my phone set to Czech language, but the day in the statusbar is in english. Month is in czech.
In call app i have few english words, too.
Can you fix it please

I am new to android and only today i rooted my nexus 4 and installed cyanogenmod 10.1. The reason why i rooted by device is because i need transparent (or semi transparent) status bar and a transparent bar at the bottom (the area with back and home). Is there any particular app or anything to get a transparent status bar??

compiling systemui.apk and android.policy.jar to enable transparent statusbar and navigation bar right now. Will post APK if it works.

AOKP has the transparency option as well, btw.

AOKP lets you adjust the transparency from 0-100%, both top and bottom or individually. It's also a great ROM all around.

Really looking forward to this if it works I've been trawling through the internet for something like this but there was no simple flash apk solution; there were many DIY methods that never seemed to work :S Will this work with stock ROM?
as far as i know it should be deodexed. just install a deodexed one (there are plenty of stock deodexed roms here on xda for n4). i am interested in this too

he actually wants the zip file so he could flash the transparent statusbar mod on a deodexed rom on n4. if you want the systemUI.apk file then you should also get the modified framework-res.apk.
I can only do it if you're running CM10.1. I will NOT compile it for stock or any other rom.

not sure if this will work for you, this is compiled with the latest nightly. I sync it everytime. 50% on the statusbar and 100% on the nav bar. Push the APKs yourself or make a ZIP for flashing.
it doesn't... i mean it sort of... works) it f****d up the navbar meaning i can work on it but has flickering and shows images of the statusbar on the background and other stuff which shouldn't be there.
I think you'll have to use my rom instead
Is it not possible for this to be done on the stock ROM?
I recently installed Space Rocket rom on my samsung g900h. Evrythings ok but the status bar is not transparent. Is that a bug or there's way to fix it?
First thing: ask custom rom dev about specific rom issues.
Second: install nova launcher and go to nova setting - there is a setting there to toogle transparent notification bar on supported rom's(again ask dev of the rom if it is supported!)
