How to Transfer SMS from Topaz to PC or Iphone? - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

Hi....
I've been ofered an Iphone 3G...and I'm going to use it for a while...
I've got a bunch of SMS (more than 12.000!!!) stored on my Diamond 2...and a lot of contacts.
Is there a way to transfer them to my PC...or even better...to the Iphone?
A long time ago I used Jeyo Mobile Extender, but it seems it's not compatible with Outlook 2010.
With Jeyo's program...the sms where all stored in my outlook...and I could see them as a regular email!
It would be awesome to have that ability....to see them in a clear and simple way.
A txt file is not that great!
Any thoughts???

Microsoft MyPhone backups your SMS. Worth a try?

Yes...but...backing up the SMS on Microsoft will allow me to later on...restore them on my Iphone???

You can use Microsoft MyPhone, but MyPhone client is not available for iPhone I think. But you can surely restore to other windows phone (never tested).
I think you can try this:
- Copy all (as per the capacity of SIM) SMS to SIM card
- Put the SIM is iPhone and move all to Phone memory.
This way you can try, if that work in iPhone
Thanks.

I also need to transfer my sms from diamond 2 to my new iphone too
Both of two form sms ( windows mobile and iphone ) can be extracted and edited as xml - but I don't know how to re-convert xml back to iphone form ( database create by sql )

Reading, sending, viewing SMS from your Outlook with Jeyo

Amazing program that JeyoMobileExtender.1.1
http://www.jeyo.com/products/JeyoMobileExtenderForOutlook.asp
For 15 USD a great tool.
See attached pictures.
nice program, allows sendfing SMS through outlook...
but i'm not sure it is worth 15 dollars...
I was looking for a "FREE" version  but did not find anything on Internet
So I decided to buy it.
what the heck it's only 15 buck !!!
Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.1 is more better than JeyoMobileExtender.1.1
u can do everything by Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.1 , adding new SMS, import or export SMS, send SMS from PC, delete SMS .... 8)
it has same functions in Oxygen Phone Manager for nokia
try it .... u will love it
Jeyo Mobile Extender as the same function as the Jeyo Mobile Companion, but you can do all this in your Outlook
No need to open a separate program, you open Outlook and you do everything there (Read your Email, read your SMS, import, export, send.....)
Each time you send a SMS trought Jeyo a copy is sent to your XDA (unless of course you decide not to have a copy of your sent item, this is an option)
Mobile Companion let you see your contact in your phone, but hey you also can do this inside Outlook no ?
After trying both I prefere Mobile Extender.
See ya
Re: Reading, sending, viewing SMS from your Outlook with Jey
after jeyo install/uninstall i can't receive sms at all.
i'm plan to make hard reset...

Automatic SMS export on your PDA
If you want to export all your Messages (SMS/MMS/Email) automatic to your Storage Card, then try this program: http://xpocketpc.fw.hu
Jeyo Mobile Extender is now up to version 2.0, and I use it and think it's great for backing up all my SMSes, but I don't think it is worth the price.
There's a problem in UK sending sms from outlook on the PC though...
The contact numbers show up wrong.
e.g. 07123 456789 (standard uk mobile number format)
would be +44 7123 456789 internationally
In Jeyo, this shows up as +7123456789 though
This is a big problem, because I've actually been billed for a couple of messages that have gone to a country with that code! In this case it would be code 71.
Let me know if anyone knows how to get this working.
Cheers
Bugfix.
I'm working on it...

Possible to import messages from old phone?

Hey,
is it possible to import sms/text-messages from my old nokia phone to the Touch HD? I've managed to import the contacts from the old phone to outlook, but can't find a way to do the same with the text messages.
I would be greatful for any help!
Regards,
Bacardi Man
I used a program called EASY HELPER on my xda2i to transfer text and contacts between two similar handsets. Worked ok, ALTHOUGH text only backs up INBOX. sent, drafts etc... are populated but by empty files you have to just delete anyway.
If easy helper is supported in 6.1 then it might work for you, don't forget to search for other 3rd party sms backup and restore programs which could be equally helpful.

Well on the Nokia side you could give the new NCC 2.0 beta http://www.nokia.com/A41013626 a try, but I think even 1.0 in the latest current Phone Suite could export SMS. My N95 is currently with Nokia, so I cannot test it for you (Export function w/o phone is greyed out). Re-Importing a common export file format back into WinMobile should not be a great deal.
I have exporter all Contacts and messages from my Nokia phone using Nokia PC suite. All this data now is stored in one single *.nbu file.
So you mean there is a program, which can extract the messages from this file and transfer them to an WM6.1 based PDA?
Can PC Suite only export nbu file format? Doubt any other program can read that. No option there to choose csv or text format at least?

Ok, let me think about it:
you may be able to send your text messages from the nokia phone vie bluetooth to your HD (if your Nokia supports sending more messages than one at a time, that would be the easyest way )
every phone and it software stores text messages in a different format and way. so normaly, its not possible to load those on another phone. some programs can store and save those messages as text files. but on the other hand, you would not be able to get those text files on your HD stored as real sms again. so the best thing would be bluetooth. just send those messages over and ypur HD will get them and know that its an sms (did the same with my contacts, just sended them via bluetooth )
My colleague says NCC can in fact export to csv format. From that format it should be possible to import into WinMobile. If only I would remember if this WM5 software HTC SMSBackup in this old post of mine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1053322&postcount=2 can import csv? If you wanna give it a try, install for WinMobile 6.x as a cab is different now:
1. Change the ".zip" extension to ".rar"
2. extract 00CAB300.001
3. rename to "00CAB300.001.exe"
4. copy to phone and use
simple answer: use pimbackup - i moved everything from my trinity. you can find it by searching on XDA, it is simply perfect.

Does it also work for SE devices such as the W800i?
Monsieur zucchel, the topic here is syncing Nokia to WinMobile No simple answer yet

Hi Lucas, my apologies. i thought it was a windows mobile device....
Bienvenue, PIMBackup is indeed a fine WinMobile solution.
But is there also a solution to port contacts from sony Ericcson devices to the HD?
Asking that cos I own a W800i.
Well, one nice feature of SE phones is the capability to copy all phone contacts to SIM card. Then you put the SIM in your other phone, and voila. Just a quick fix, a better way would be to export contacts to a export data file like .csv, and then import that one into WinMobile with the free PIMBackup http://www.dotfred.net/ Give the free http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ MyPhoneExplorer a try, it was always my favourite SE contacts and SMS sync software.
Really good news as I am already using MyPhoneExplorer.
Will give it a try on monday when the HD should arrive.
The problem with the SIM Card is that there is only a storage capacitiy for 150 numbers (not even contacts) so this option wont work for me.
The option of using bluetooth sounds really interesting. But how can I send a sms via Bluetooth. In the options menue of the messages menue there is no possibility to do that, altough both phones support bluetooth.
Since I still can't find an option to send my sms via bluetooth from one phone to the other, I tried exporting them into .csv format, which worked fine.
Now I have the problem that both, your program Lucas, and PPCPIMBackup don't recognize this format.
Any suggestions?
Studied the PIMBackup since I dont use it. Its backups are stored in a .pib file, which actually is just a .zip file which you can decompress. It will reveal a number of .csv files, for the different types of data in your Touch HD. I would then assume that you can copy the contacts from your Nokia .csv file into the PIMBackup .csv with contacts, using Excel which can read and write .csv. Do the same for SMS. Unfortunately not a one-click solution, but transfering PIM data over operating systems is still a pain - when it comes to SMS. Contacts of course can be transfered via Outlook, or a online account which both of your devices can access.
If you like to explore further, I think Jeyo Mobile Extender was a software that allowed you to put all your SMS into Outlook as messages, from where you could copy them. But I never got it to run fully under Outlook 2007, and development has stopped.
Good luck!
@lucas:
Your solution would be great, but in fact the pib-file does not contain many csv-files, instead it contains one single pbm-file, which can't be decompressed.
Well then, I am close to giving up . Did you use a .pib file that you filled with some life, i.e. at least one item (contact, sms) for each PIM menu item on your WinMobile device? An empty .pib file out of the box would certainly contain no csv's. If there is still only a pbm file after decompress then the PIMBackup programmer has not updated his manual.
Other than that, maybe someone else would like to step in... Time for a Bacardi I'd say...

Backing up text messages

does anyone know how to back up text messages from there shadow to there computer want to run a new rom but i need my text messages so if anyone knows plz let me know thanks
I use Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook for my text messages. It worked well with my T-Mobile MDA and Shadow 2008 under XP / Outlook 2003, but things started acting up when I changed to Vista / Outlook 2007 with my Shadow 2009. There isn't any activity at the Jeyo Support forums so I was looking into using something else. There are other options as far as synching to Outlook (like Mobile Archiver), and some that backup to CSV or other formats. You can try out MS My Phone if you were able to sign up for it as well, I'm currently using it myself.
A free little Jewel called PIMBackup should help you out here.
It doesn't sync to your PC, just to a file, so I just have it output to my SD card.
It also backs up all of your contacts, past calls, and even any files that you want it to.

Store Text messages on PC?

Got a small problem, I have over more then 5000 messages on my HD, but now I want to use the new Leo interface. Messages app was already very slow, but with the HTC messasing it's even impossible to restore that many messages. I don't want to delete all my messages and keep them stored somewhere. Already using/knowing PIM Backup but then I just got a file and can't read my messages. I'm also using Microsoft MyPhone but that is 2 way sync only (?), so when I'm launching MyPhone on the Leo ROM, then all the messages will be restored.
So, is there a nice way to keep my messages, but keep my phone clean and fast?
Hi, google "Efficasoft Mobile Express", tested on Touch HD and works great.
You can archive messages on myphone
"Save space on your phone
When you delete content from your phone, you can still access this content from your web account (until deleted from your archive folder)"
The only question then is, can you get them exported from myphone if wanted, and also is the service reliable?
I used my phone application several times (backup and restore) and works fine.
Can any of these export the emssages though? I want to rar up all my emssages ...
i use Jeyo Mobile Extender v2.5 and it is working fine with both Tytn II and Touch HD.
it can import all mobile messages to the Microsoft Outlook and vice versa.

software to sync SMS between Android and WM?

Hi all,
My decision to start migrating from WM to Android turned up to be be quite a headache. And here is one of the problems.
For next year I intend to use Hero and HD2 at the same time and I will need to have them synchronized. Main issue is to have synced SMS - I have tried and looked for different options but ended up with nothing.
Ways it could have been implemented:
1. Desktop PC software that allows you to sync both Android and WM devices, including SMS.
2. Something like Sprite Migrate, but software that works both ways.
3. Something like My Phone service by MS but works on all platforms
4. Software that will export txts in some common standard like xml. I tried to export with SMS Backup & Restore and to restore it to WM with Jeyo Mobile Companion but formats are different
5. Others: backing up to SIM, trying to use backup created on Android with Sprite Backup on WM, forwarding sms via bluetooth, etc....
So as you can see, I have tried many options but was was unsuccessful. Any other ideas how to transfer sms from WM to Android?
I think you can save your SMS on your SIM card, but idk if android can read them out of the box.
Sync to IMAP and Gmail
Have you tried syncing to IMAP? I use MobiTnT (SMS Mobile Archiver would also work I think) that syncs to Outlook a folder. This folder can be transferred to G-mail, perhaps even automatically. To synk between Android and Gmail, you have the android sms project: http://code.google.com/p/android-sms/wiki/UserGuide
SMS Migrator
- First, down load http: // wince.nasenbaeren.net / smsimport/ to export SMS from WM then copy it into your SDCARD on Android Phone
- Then go to Android Market to download "SMS Migrator"
See more here: http: // a.baole.org/ sms-migrator
Sorry I can not post URL as I'm a new member

Does SMS migrator, give you the option to merge sms? I got 2k+ on my old WM phone and 300+ on my Eris. I know Sprite Migrate was working on this feature, but I don't think they added it yet.
sorry for the late reply, but i switched from wm to android and transferring sms messages from one platform to another was something i wanted to do also.
*note* ive onlly transferred from wm6.1 to android
1. i went to this site (google "import/export move sms") [i cant post links 'cus im still new] and installed SMS Exporter.
2. exported to mmc/harddrive..
3. installed sms backup and restore from android market
4. moved the exported .xml file to the sms backup app folder
5. imported.
hope this helps.

No, SMS Migrator imports sms and automatically creates sms thread for you.
suggestion: use Google Voice. It's awesome, and would allow you to sync stuff
Well. I just used the SPRITE stuff and it worked. The SMS is a little different cause Android uses threaded SMS. You you think not all of the messages are there, but they are. I didn't see any sorting it in maybe except for the subject.
Migrating contacts worked too. But SPRITE says it will wipe old data, but it doesn't. That means I have double contacts.
The WM app starts going nuts when you view the log. You have to reset the device to continue. But this is after the data is stored in a safe place on your WM device.
It doesn't do appointments. Maybe for that I have to use the .pib of Pimbackup the extract to .cvs and read it.
But the software is in beta. At least I converted it.
Found this topic. But I'm gonna work on something myself. I'm gonna try to extract the SMS to a CSV on WinMo. Write a simpel script to create an XML. And that XML I'm gonna import on Android.

Did you ever write something? I now have a few SMS on the Android side of my HD2 which I would like to sync with the Windows side.
With more and more Android builds coming out for the HD2 I would think an app to sync between the two would be awesome.
I cannot agree more with the previous user. Any ideas on how to sync sms between android and wm???
