so after doing some research it turns out that our phones wont blink for more than 2 or 3 mins(cant seem to find the correct length of time)...people have suggested to use missed call apps or LED notification apps off the market
i havent tried any of those but you may want to check out some and see if they help

While you're at it, can you change the phone font to something more pleasing to the eye, make the screen display at a higher resolution, and tweak the camera up to a 12 MP? That would be great, Thanks! ;-)

I only asked about the possibility of being able to change these things, I did not ask for anyone to do it, only if it was possible. Thanks for the pointless comments though
King,
In the future you might want to read your post before submitting. It appeared to me you were requesting the dev to make those changes.
You can install the stock sms and mms applications via adb. I believe there are a few posts here that detail how.

I was messing around on my brothers iPhone earlier, and I saw that when someone calls or texts him his camera flash strobes a few times. I was wondering if there was a mod out there that did that, or if a dev could cook one up.

umm... if you haven't noticed...
whenever someone calls/text/emails/whatever, there's a little LED green light that flashes at the front, just to top left of the mytouch logo.....
so no need for that.

Yeah I know that but I just thought it would be cool to have that

The flash LED isn't physically locked to the camera since it can be turned on with the 900 flashlight apps available.
Therefore, it's got to be possible to have an incoming call or text trigger the light to go on.
I couldn't code a simple math problem myself, so I have no idea how you'd do such a thing. But I know it's possible.
Just go into google market and search flashlight alerts. There are several apps that do just what you want.

My only grouse so far. I have disabled all led notifications but seems is not working. I still get to see the led flashing with emails , messages, n in charging mode
Is this a possible hardware issue
Is there any place I can edit the system files to disable it
Thanks

Is there a chance you have Light Flow installed? Well if you don't try installing it to see if it shuts off. Then uninstall it because Light flow has other issues right now;

Well try activating it to see if it fixes the problem. If hard reset doesn't fix it then it sounds like a possible hardware problem.

OK I'm really frustrated trying to find a solution. Is there a way to get the screen to light up for a few seconds to a minute or two or keep the soft keys on the Note to light up and blink interval when I get any form of notification, mostly need for messages, miss calls and kick messages and emails. I have tried every kind of app, Noled, MMF, Tasker and a few others. The closest I got to was Llama, which lights the screen up but only for a few seconds like less than 3 seconds.
Really need a solution fast, I keep missing my notifications until for more than an hour, I am on PA rom 0.4a and not sure if BLN works, installed the app but doesn't seem to work, someone please solve this issue for me and the rest suffering in silence.
So surprised how such a basic function of screen lighting up when there is a new notification was available in as old phones as my previous N97mini but can't even have it decently working by downloading apps from the play store. I am so tried of Googling, have been doing so for several hours and I am sick of it. Someone with the solution or with their personal solution please post on this thread and share.
Sorry for the rant but really need this fixed soon, once again I'm on PA rom 0.4a

Thanks guys for the suggestions but NOLed is not what I'm looking for, it just drains battery and isn't bright enough to capture my attention but its fine. I found a solution... iPhone Notification.

I hope you don't get burn-in, does it move the notification around?

Hi all. I have been doing some searching around for a way to get the rear LED to light up in any way shape or form for apps, specifically SMS.
Has anyone found a way to get it on AT ALL using apps like Light Flow or Light Manager? Stock or a custom ROM? If you have gotten it on in anyway at all, please let me know! (And how you did it please)
I spent some time emailing with the LightFlow dev last night too, and he is interested in getting control over it too. So anything to get it on is great.
Thanks everyone!

In another thread it was stated that Flashnotification works (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification). I did not try it yet.

Just tried, same results.
I have it half on with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
Working on full access. Ill keep everyone updated.
To use that app install it and enable it in accessibility. Then open the app and go to auto locate. Choose your LED here. "button-backlight1" is for the left, "button-backlight2" is for the right. It will probably just show you up to the word "button: though. But it appears twice, once on the left of the screen, once on the right. Choose either side. And that's it. It will flash when you get a notification.
Light flow works for me rooted on stock Rom. ...you have to enable it in settings then enable it in the setting for the specific notification You want. .. but now blink or pulse. ....tell the light flow dev to add this option to his app

I sent him an email about this a few minutes ago. But light flow also only lights up half of the ring, the right side to be specific. If you use the app I linked above you can get either half (left or right) working and it blinks!
Ill let you know any updates I get, but at least it is half blinking now!
Worked some more with the light flow dev. We have gotten the FULL led ring to light up! It is currently solid. Ill post more as it develops.
In the meantime here is a picture of my device, using lightflow, when I receive an SMS. Enjoy for now!
