Hello. I have a G-tab (AT&T version) that is rooted but still has the stock ROM. I use both Tru-phone and skype to make occasional calls. I keep getting a missed call notification each time I power up the tab. When I go to clear it I get a message that says "dialer not supported". Anyone know where these phone logs are kept so I can clear them?
Thanks

Hey all,
So I did a search for this and didn't find it, but if I am stupid and just missed it, I appologize in advance.
When I get a voicemail, the notification pops up and I hit dismiss. The notification still stays on the 'desktop' and I can't get to the notiifcation of the missed call.
Is there anyway to actually dismiss the notification of voicemails and reverse the order so that missed calls notification comes up (so that I know who left the possible voicemail)?
Thank you for your help.

you need to tap on the voicemail icon at the tome bar (on the right next to start menu) - this will bring up an extended menubar which you can then tap on the missed calls icon.
or press call button to goto the phone, use the menu opton to view call history.
Yeah, I know of that meathod, but is there anyway to make it the missed call the first default notification?
And also, is there anyway to truly dismiss the notification but let the voicemail notificatin stay up top? On a normal phone, it says you have a voicemail and it lets you use your phone normally after that, not insisting on you checking the voicemail.
Thanks for all your help.
I second the issue!
This is especially severe when one is in Europe and has no intention of checking voicemail until returning to the states (or vice versa, I suppose). I have several times checked voicemail from overseas just to get rid of the notification.
Apparently, the Cingular 8525 (Hermes) has the same issue. I've opened an official ticket with Cingular/HTC and will be posting the replies. I guess this is a WM5 issue, since WM6 fixes the bug. But since there's not official upgrade that fixes the bug, I will stay on their asses until they do. However, since I don't have a Cingular 8125 (Wizard), I can't pursue a fix for that model. Who knows, maybe a patch will fix both models. Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299865
I recently installed the white rabbit rom CM7 for my defy+.
I really like the speed and battery life of this rom.
I searched for it on the device (settings) and i tried google, but I didn't find a solution. Maybe I'm lost in the settings of the device or maybe the rom doesn't support it.
Is there an option to fix this ? Maybe with a third party application ?
Thx
what do you mean??
it rejects calls and sends you a message?
or you want to reject a call and send them a message?
Previously when I rejected an incoming call I could choose from some text messages to send to the caller, letting him know I was driving or something like that.
Now when I reject the call I don't get that option anymore
Hello,
I love this phone N4 but i don't really like the GUI when receiving call. When you need to pull to left reject the call and pull to right to receive the call. Sometimes i got the phone upside down and did that in the wrong way around (which i plan to receive the call but i rejected the call instead). So just wondering, is it possible to change the GUI when receiving call? like have a clearer (more colorful buttons) to receive the call.
thanks.
i'm sorry if there's a duplicated thread, i did try to search through.
Try something like Fullscreen caller id from the Play Store.
exDialer is nice.
I just upgraded my Nexus 7 3G (2012) to 4.4. It used to be on 4.3 that, despite not coming with a proper SMS client, I could install one third-party and send/receive.
Here is what happens now. I can install 8sms and it will tell me it is not my SMS app. However when I tap "SMS Disabled" in Settings, nothing happens. There does not appear to be an SMS system setting on this stock ROM. So I can't seem to get it out of "Sending disabled" mode.
When I text from my phone to my tablet, I get a messaging notification in my tray from Android itself, but tapping it opens up just a toast notification. The message does not actually seem to get recorded anywhere. In 8sms it just appears as (No subject).
Any thoughts on whether this may be surmountable?
I can't answer you but I have a question: where can I find incoming messages? I'm on prepaid and there are incoming messages from the carrier but I can't read them.

They come into the notification tray for me when they arrive, but after reading them they are not stored anywhere. The information just vanishes.
The hangouts application is my preferred way to SMS and text. When I receive a message, I receive a notification like I should. After I open the hangouts app and then engage in further conversation, I get a notification sound after each message I receive although I am still chatting to the person. The notification sound rings with each incoming message weather I am in the application, within the very chat, or weather I am on the homescreen or anywhere else. The only way I've known to subdue it is by turning off the sound notification for hangouts messages completely.
I've had this problem since 4.4.0 update. Today after I flashed Lollipop I was expecting it to go away but it didn't. I thought about it and then decided to ask if anybody else have had the problem before.
Something I strongly suspect is when I cleared the "Google services Framework" in hopes of getting 4.4.0 OTA ASAP I might have messed up. At that time this was suggested by many websites which later turned out to be counter helpful and create problems with the GCM.
So, if anybody knows how it could be fixed, and I could get notifications in the normal way it would be much helpful.
Thank you.
