I read this on Phandroid today. I have no idea who this person is, but they have some type of Honeycomb port on their evo. It's very buggy, but they have a link to download it. Just wanted to share the information and this person's website for everyone to look at.

That would be awesome. 3.0 on the EVO would make me one happy camper
Very cool.
Very, very cool.
Can't wait til a competent dev gets their hands on that!!
Hopefully the time frame if a daily driver in the next month is correct. Downloading it atm just to mess around with

I haven't forgot about you guys. Today we had a meeting with XDA owners via telephone. Were just getting everything ready before we make a huge announcement. I told you guys I'm NOT going to let you guys down. Just be a little patient.

hope this is what i think it is. would like to buy a sammy phone again but its gonna take something good at this point
Would rather hear about a froyo source release for our phone than a official froyo release to be honest. Our devs do way better work with source than what samsung would release as official froyo. Look at the amazing work that noobl has done without source for froyo and we have an awesome dev that even has released work of an miui port (which I am most excited for coming from an htc incredible with a fully working port).

Samsung John, thank you so much for making a connection with the people at XDA and being less transparent with the end user. However even if you are coming out with an announcement, could we have at least an eta. After a while of hearing nothing but coming soon, something along the lines of coming in a month, 6 weeks, 2 weeks, whatever would be much appreciated with any announcement. I am not even talking about froyo, I am talking about anything in general. But again thank you for coming and creating this channel with XDA.
Like the title says, what do u think the vibrant community will have by next year?
I say we might already have an official gingerbread release by next year or throughout.
What do you think we'll have?

From what I've seen here we would probably run out of users before developers
The number of people looking for the latest hottest phone out there is ridiculous here.

Well the g1 doesn't count. First android phone. Its the grandfather of all. I think we would be quite. No real developers. I for one, will keep ny vibrant. Ill buy an upgrade when everything android related cools down. Im not spending $600 every few months for the new top phone.

I realize this is off topic but... I've been a huge fan of jared's work on the ICS but as far as the 4.0.3 for right now I'd recommend Decks which is in the alpha stage now and is a bit more stable than jared's 4.0.3.

1. Go to the EVO 4G Android Development forum.
2. At the top right hand corner of the threads, click the "search this forum" button.
3. In the box, type what you want to search for. In this case, "decks ics" without the parentheses.
4. Its the first result of the search.
I recommend, the ramen mod by the bakery. Runs great for alpha stage

Again, the best way to find that all out would be to look for the thread under android development and find team ramens thread for that Rom. I can tell you that its based off of Deck's work with some different stuff thrown in there though. Pretty much all of the different ICS roms for the evo 4g have the same things working, and none of them have working cameras or 4g/wimax working as far as I know.

does the camera work on decks? so far i havent found one yet that works
is there a an estimated time frame on when camera will work on the ics roms for evo.
i know they say never ask for ETA's but just like a mental time frame (2-3 months or so?)
thats really the only thing holding me back from flashing ics, 4g is a sacrifice im willing to make

Lol... you right and guys really? the best answer is when they are done with it they will let you know of course unless you want to help out and get it done for them. Can we get an estimate on when some of you are going to start using the search feature or even google....lol
I've ported JoyOS on the inspire, same thing basically(unfortunately their site was down last I checked so no more updates on their end), it has a CM7.2 base. Its seems to be completely stable. Please keep in mind I've tried a few other times, this has only been because i wanted to make my own ROM for my personal use. I am by no means to the caliber of development or debugging as some of the awesome groups Ive seen over the past year. And I am trying to learn as quickly as possible about the in's and out's (coding, build prop edits, troubleshooting the whole nine as it were to keeping a rom up and stable).
So with that said, I would like to put out the port on the development forums, but am kinda weary as I am new to doing this, I may not be able to solve or answer all questions. Should I release it with what i have, keep learning, and simply state that in my intro? I saw one release of this port a long time ago, SeaPathJoyOS was the name I believe, liked it so much, that after it was stopped on dev, I made my own.
any feed back would be awesome, thanks in advance.
You can release it and see what people think of it. There may be some who can help with any issues. That's what we are all here for just remember to warn flash at your own risk.
