hey guys.. i was wondering if anyone knew the command line to remove HTC music app... i like the vanilla music app better.. i installed it.. only problem is.. when i use my bluetooth stereo earphones.. when i try and skip a track or resume a track.. it actually starts up the HTC music app.. while the vanilla app i have to control via phone.. i tried to do it with a file manager.. but its telling me its " read only".
Easiest way to delete apps is get Titanium Backup found in the market.
It gives you a list of all your apps, to back them up, delete, whatever.
If you having problems, tap the problems tab and install busybox
Not sure if this is the right place. I hope it is.
I use the Lock 2.0 app and it has an option to link to the music app. Worked fine on my other android phone, but it doesn't seem to link to the music app on the Vibrant. Does anyone know where I can change the settings for it?
I believe that the Lock app will only "link" with Google's Android Music.apk app. Because the Samsung Music App is proprietary, I don't believe it will work as smoothly or at all. I'm not a dev, just going by what I've read in other forums.
Has anyone installed the nexus one browser, contacts, calendar, and launcher on their tablet? Basically, I hate all of the Samsung Apps and want a plain froyo rom. I'm willing to install packages from my nexus one until I find the time to build one...

You should be able. I installed the calculator apk from my nexus one into my tab, cause the euro Rom didn't come with one installed, and it works without an issue.

I've been wondering the exact same thing (minus the launcher - I'm using adw since that's what comes in CM for my N1). Since it's barely been a week since purchase, I'm still a little afraid to start pulling apks over to try it out.
I tried, but I get a "replacing system package" warning, then the install fails. I tried this with my tab rooted and unroored

I think the nexus stock browser is a lot faster and more stable then the stock browser on the tab. I tried pushing over the browser.API from the nexus. But unfortunately everytime I start the browser it immediately closes. I just wanna try it out and see ignite any better.
Bump..

I am using ADW Launcher instead of Samsung Launcher and DialerOne for the dialer but I am missing the simple calculator that was on my CM 6 Nexus One.
Samsung apps are just ugly.
Not 100% sure, but some apps are dependent on the framework of the rom. You can't simply start swapping things out. Contacts and dialer are one of those things. A lot of applications rely on other things that's why they won't work. Once someone cooks up an AOSP rom for us then we can start tinkering in the world of Vanilla...
I'll gladly support someone porting over Cyanogen mod.
Youlu address book, miren browser, launcher pro, half way there already!
I have installed Calculator.apk from CyanogenMod 6.0, it works fine.
I tried to install Music.apk from CM 6.0 but it is blocked by crappy Samsung's MusicPlayer.apk. So I used TitaniumBackup to remove MusicPlayer. Then after reboot it still did not like it, because it seems Music.apk contains native code. So I tried Music.apk from beta CM 6.1 for Galaxy S and it installed just fine. Unfortunately it doesn't show music controls on the lockscreen so it must be a function of the lockscreen. So it is not better than Music Mod.
I would recommend everyone looking for vanilla music app to use Music Mod from the market.
I do not know what this is, but google it and it has something to do with a call recorder software I wqs trying to install on my galaxy s4, but I wasnt able to get any of those apps working on my phone I lost hope on that, but every 6 hours or so my phone is saying that is the storage is low, so I go and see why and it's this killermobile thing. I delete it but it comes back again, I dont want to keep deleting that log file, and I dont have any call recorder app installed. Thank You if you can tell me how to get rid of it. The phone is rooted too, but I had the problem before I rooted it

first off, uninstall advanced task killer...
Go in to manage applications and look for the killer mobile app or something possibly related
If you can't find anything there, then download a file manager from google play store and search for it under data/apps

So I just finished copying my ~40GB of music to the SD card, with plans to use Samsung's stock Music app for listening to local music. I got on the train this morning, and the app was missing! I disabled some things in Package Disabler Pro over the past week with the phone, but never Music or anything else similar. It doesn't show at all on the phone now.
Also, while trying to test Root Explorer's issue with writing to our SD card, I found it to be missing from my app drawer (Nova), but showing up if I search for it. I haven't hidden the app at all, and even more, it doesn't show under TouchWiz or Google Now Launcher either.
I think my phone is possessed.
i think samsung music was removed by sammy, i believe you have to download it from the galaxy store now

The thing is, I had it on my phone when it was initially setup. Did Samsung force remove it?

I haven't removed anything on my phone and I have not had the Samsung Music player from day one. Root Explorer shows up fine in my app drawer but as we know, it isn't working correctly and crashes when trying to grant permissions.
As stated, Samsung Music is available to download from the Samsung apps store, I just downloaded it to test and see it in the app drawer now.

Then I am even more confused. I even opened it to test my BT headphones, but now it's gone.
You have to go into Galaxy Apps and download. It's one of the things Samsung did to lean out the apps. Some of the apps people are used to see and possibly use can be gotten there.
Music app was never there initially. I installed it from Galaxy Apps. I heard that video player is also "missing".
Yeah, I didn't have it either. Freaked me out because I don't like using other music players. I was about to freak out until I searched it in Galaxy apps
