Newbie question. I just bought an HD 2 and installed cyanogen mod7 v2.6. I noticed that when on standby mode even though it is not used for more than 1 hour the lcd does not completely turn off. You can see that there is still a faint light being emitted by the screen. Can anybody help me on how shut down the LCD completely off during standby mode? Its a drain on the batteries.
Any reply much appreciated.

1. sometimes when i charge my dopod, when it reaches 100 percent, the batt indicator wont change to green, i've tried to leave it for couple more hours but still orange..
2. in landscape mode, if i set the brightness level to more then 50%.. and my batt level was below 50%, when the keyboard light turned on, the lcd backlight was getting darker.. it also happened when i was getting a text message, the lcd backlight also flicks a couple of times n getting darker.. just like the lcd didnt get enough power..
do i have a prob with my batt? or is it normal?

I kept my phone on charging and watched a movie. After the movie got over I noticed that my phone drained its battery rather charge itself. I thought that the quad core suck battery while playing videos. I switched the power saving mode on later. It still didn't charge. I then thought that there is something wrong.. I then switched wifi off with power saving enabled and data off.. and then locked the screen and slept thinking it'll charge up by morning. I woke up just to find out that my phone didn't charge at all. And the processor was awake all the time. I've attached a screen shot. Someone please help me. I am on omega 4 with a theme by nitrox I believe.

kill all running apps, hard reboot. Tried that yet?
I did a reboot.. no help.. I'll try factory reset. Do you've any idea why the signal bar became yellow instead of green?

I charged my battery when it was at about 49% overnight with the wall charger and unplugged it when it was full. I thought it was completely off. I booted it up today and I get the battery specs in the picture below. Does anyone know what happened? I have the screen brightness pretty low too.
The up time of the tablet is 1:17:53 but the screen time on says 2h 56m 22s. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all.
I recently bought a first-generation Nexus 7 and am having some problems with charing/discharging/battery consumption. Right now, the problem appears to be that the device charges painfully slowly when the screen is turned on. The device has literally been plugged in to the factory wall charger (12V 2A) for more than 5 hours, and the battery level has increased from 70% (when it started) to 74%. During this time the screen has been turned on, brightness to the lowest setting, airplane mode on, and no apps whatsoever are running in the background.
However, it appears to charge at a normal speed when the screen is turned off.
I have also noticed that when apps are running (not battery intensive apps, either--basic web browser, maps, etc.) while the screen brightness is at 100%, the battery actually discharges when the device is plugged in.
It's rooted and running a cyanogenmod 4.4 ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I have been testing with the screen turned on because I'm using this tablet for an application that requires the screen to always be on.
Anyone???
I too have this very same issue.... Just started a few days ago...
I am going to buy this phone but I was wondering about second screen if it is always on does it drain battery or the impact is negligible
You can set it turn off when you shut the screen off, I have mine set to stay on and haven't noticed any noteworthy drain on my battery, I listen to my headphones all day at work (Ten hours) and the phone is usually still at around 85-90% when I leave.
In a dark room it will have light bleed but besides that it's fine, also if the phone is in your pocket the screen is not on.
