Can't seem to get my batt to get fully charge. - Fascinate General

Just as what the subject is. I download batt app % but I can't seem to get my battery to fully charge. Icon says its fully charge but batt app says otherwise it's at 80%. Thx again.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

I observe the same.

When it says fully charged, you should turn off the phone and continue charging and see if it goes to a true 100%

I had the same problem then reset the battery stats 2 mornings in a row after the phone was fully charged overnight.

I Was going to suggest teh same - get a full charge on it and wipe the batt stats a few times... This is accomplished in teh advanced section of CWM.

i've had the same issue. and taking forever to charge. i followed some steps in another thread to wipe battery stats. i'll see if that fixes it.
steps are:
fully charge the phone
boot into recovery (i have anon) and choose wipe - wipe battery stats
use phone as normal & let battery drain down
recharge to full.
i'll see if that fixes anything.
i just did all that. still at 100% awake time when charging.

Do you mean awake time is 100% or the screen stays on? Can you see what is staying awake?
Charging over USB?
The Hero has always keeps a partial wake when charging over USB.
no i mean when im charging my phone the awake time keeps going up and doesnt stay down. if i would to trun my phone on and charge it right away the awake time would be at max 100%. when im charging my phone via WALL charger..i see in about phone battery it says "charging (USB)" but im using the wall charger. wtf ?

Not sure why it says charging (USB) but if it thinks it's charging over USB then it will keep the phone awake, period. That's how it's always been.
hm, maybe its a bug ? cause im using the wall charger.
am i the only one with this issue ?
??????????????????
come on guys i still have this problem. its so annoying.
i'm no longer having this issue after wiping battery stats. battery life is also really good
the battery wipe trick...all i do is wipe the battery stats then let the phone die on its own ?

Charge it to full first. Then wipe battery stats. Then keep it off the charger until the battery dies. After that, recharge to full before using it again. That should clear any issues with charging memory. Not sure why it would do anything for 'awake time' when USB connected (you can turn that off in applications/development), and it CERTAINLY shouldn't stay awake while on the wall charger. But since someone else said it did the trick, can't hurt to try it.

[Q] Wipe the battery stats am I interpreting this right?

I have allready read:
Battery recalibration (Thanks to Cyanogen for this and to fachadick for bringing it to my attention).
If you're experiencing higher than normal battery drain, try the following:
1. Charge the phone to full battery; let it keep charging until the battery says it is fully charged. Do not just wait until the light is green, it isn't always fully charged, causing a lot of inaccuracies. (You can check by going to: Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> Battery Level = Full.)
2. Boot to recovery and wipe battery stats.
(To have the most accurate of battery stats, reboot the phone immediately after wiping the battery stats and wait for your ROM to boot completely to the desktop. Once your entire boot is done and you have full access to the phone, go ahead and pull the charger and continue.)
3. Do not charge the phone until after draining the battery completely, resulting in it automatically shutting off. Take out the battery, and keep trying to turn on your phone until it will not turn back on at all.
4. Recharge the phone completely and then use as you normally would.
This is a method that has been proven to work, I am sure there are other ways. My battery lasts longer after doing this and the reading is much more accurate. It might be advisable to do this after every ROM install if you want the most battery life and most accurate battery reading by the phone's software.

My question is dose the phone need to be off or on for stage 4 the recharging of the battery?
If it can be off for stage 4. Dose it need to be charged in one sitting or can I charge it partially then take it to work and then charge it the rest of the way before I turn the phone back on?
This my second attempt at doing a battery stats wipe. The first time I tried I left the phone on wile charging and the battery only charged to 3800mV calming it was at 100%. I had to bump charge it 3 times over 3 hours before the battery was up to 4100mV-4200mV and clmaing 100% charge capacity.
Evo 4g Ur3 Stock root Seidio 3500mAh extended life battery.
1) You can have it on
2) NO! charge it from 0-100% in one sitting
I did it according to the above with my 1&2 and im getting accurate readings now as well as the battery life i should have.

I wonder if this means that I will not be able to have proper battery stats as my phone likes to stop charging and claim that it's at 100% when its actually at 50-80%/ (It dose this 95% of the time... It even did it with the stock battery stock battery a couple of times)

battery not charging to 100%

new to the atrix.
I installed the latest oat update, and the phone was @ 70% after charging all night. I also noticed it discharge updates only by 10% increments.
I installed the homepage Rom, and it charged overnight to 93%.
I've applied the battery fix, but that only seems to stabilize the display (I noticed it fluctuating before the fix)
is there a fix? I've done calibrations on phones, but I needed to get 100% and the charge while off. Not sure how I can calibrate if I can't get a full charge while on.
Use recovery to wipe battery stats. If it still fails to display 100% when charged shut the phone off. Take the battery out, then plug the phone in. Wait until the "?" on the battery shows up. Then put the battery in while it is still plugged in. Leave it like that for about 30 mins. When you click the volume button the battery will show only 5-10%, but turn the phone on and it should read 100%.

I'll try that. I already wiped battery a couple times in cwn
OK, then the 2nd part should do the trick. It works for me anyways. Once you do see 100%, wipe batt stats again and let the battery die, then charge while the phone is off. Should fix you up.

You might have to wipe battery stats several times. I had an out of the ordinary calibration problem between flashing roms and had to wipe everything several times before it started working properly. Also note, that charging up to 95%-99%, and unplugging and plugging back in and slowly charging past 95% is common and not a problem. The software is estimating battery charge. And if you do charge past 95% and unplug its ok if it quickly goes back down to 95% and then tapers slowly.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
You have to wait for battery to go beyond 95%.
It takes time but it goes their.
My personal experience.
Just drain the battery til it dies. Then plug it in over night while you sleep. Once you wake up wipe battery stats and everything should be good.

I think he has tried both of these methods. I know I did. What I told him to do was the only thing that worked for me.
OK J, it looks like that fixed it.
Although battery showed 4169, and I saw others with 4200

try discharging until the phone shuts off and charging it again without turning it off.

I'm going to try it again. I tried a different rom, and it only went to 92%. I redid the battery pull and Saw 4185.

Battery display inaccuracy

This happens when battery level is below like 30% on my HTC Evo. I am using a customized ROM (Supersense). Whenever the battery reaches 30% remaining, it doesn't drop. However, if I use the phone for a while and restart it, the battery shows only 10%. Clearly, some of the battery management program does not work properly. Is it a bug related to battery itself (hardware) or ROM (software)? Anyway to fix this?
You could try charging your phone up fully then go into recovery and delete the battery stats(Under Advanced in CWM), unplug your phone and use it until it discharges fully and shuts off. Finally, recharge the phone fully again once it has died. I believe this will calibrate the software that monitors your battery or something like that. You can find more specific instructions on the net if you want. Some people like to bump charge and everything else to try to get it perfect but I never found the need to go to that extreme.

Download "battery left" from the market and it will recalibrate your battery. Also yes, I would reset battery stats as well but battery left will actually recalibrate it. Battery stats is how long the phone has been on, what's using the most battery, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Just boot into recovery and wipe battery stats.
I had this problem once.
All I did was download "Battery Left" as VICODAN said and I flashed this zip that I got from somewhere on this site but I forget where. I had to change the updater-script and the binary but either way it works on our Shift. Charge to 100% and flash this, then with Battery Left install use the phone till it dies and after that, you should be golden.
battery calibration
U can try the app battery calibration also in the market. If you're rooted.
*Since we're talking about batteries.
I wish our phones would beep or set off an alarm when charged to 100%.
I was keeping battery calibration just for that, it has that option but only worked maybe 1 out of 20 times the alarm went off.

Love the app, so when i got to sleep or I am going to calibrate, I just open the calibration app throw it on charge, it beeps I hit calibrate unplug and done. That way I don't have to open the app when It's 100% or with early morning fuzzy eyes and fingers that don't work right

[HOWTO]wipe Battery Stats

When i must wipe my Battery Stats?
Always when you Flash a new Rom or Reflash the rom you must have to wipe your Battery Stats to have the best Battery life from your Device.
How to wipe Battery Stats?
1. charging the battery FULLY
2. boot device to CWM Recovery
3. advanced/Wipe Battery Stats
4. reboot device
5. don't charge the device until the battery still turns off your device because it empty (do not drain with heavy apps like video streaming ect.)
6. now again FULLY charge without interruption
7. Have fun ^^
Hit the Thanks Button if it help!
Thanks
I have woundered why it didn't work on my phone and that was becuse i charged it while i wiped it and i didn't let it drain all the battery
well...you can also wipe that in the xRecovery if you have it
the reason of wiping it is because the battery status will not be accurate.
also, if you found your battery is draining, try to wipe it, then check the running services if there are too much apps running in the background~

wipe it when battery has 100% and after you flashed new rom
The better and easiest way is with battery calibration.apk
Download this: http://db.tt/Ohb9vGgP
And follow the instructions
actually, it usually takes a longer time for the battery to get from 99% to 100%
the reason is... idk...
but even thought it is 99%, it takes a shorter time to consume the battery than it is charged to 100%
thats my experience
If you read the phone manual, it says that happens because it is expanding battery life... (??)

after you wipe the battery stats and reboot your device you have to wait untill your device battery is empty and the phone turned off by herself. 0% battery . After device turned off by herself, charge your device again to 100% without any interruption like reboot or unplug power plug.
Understand? Please excuse my english is not as well.

That's what I don't understand. After I Wipe Battery Stat and reboot the device. I'm waiting, and She's not turned off by herself but I skip Step 5. and everything works. still 73% after 2 hours ...
@azyar
1. Charge the phone (100%)
2. Wipe battery stats
3. Reboot the phone
4. Now use the phone until the battery has gone from 100% to 0% (when the battery reaches 0%, it will turn off by itself)
5. Now charge the phone 100% again without interruptions (don't even touch it)
When battery level has reached 100% (not 99%), you may use your phone again.
