If so, it won't work if you had it. Your email/name would have to be matching their database. To be placed on their database, one would have to have been on their pre-order list that was submitted before the 22nd of Jan. Those lists were available thru numerous sites such as commenting on the Blog itself, or on notioninkhacks, notioninkfan, notionaddicts etc. Anyone requesting to be added after the 22nd, would be placed on the next pre-order thereafter.

This first batch of preorder 2 involved only a few people. CE of NI mentioned that batch1 was for testing their orders system (probably because a lot of people complained last time not been able to pay etc). Batch 2 will open around 15th of February for those who's email addresses were sent to NI by administrators of various blogs and forums.

Thanks for this feedback.
After all the positive feedback from XDA members (also some negatives) and the obvious enthousiastic support of developers here I was determined to order one this time around.
So was disappointed that I somehow missed the pre-order. Glad to find out actual pre-ordering will start on the 15th.

i got the pre-order saturday morning and with a bit of drama with chase / visa i was able to successfully order mine this morning. yipeee!!!

Woot! got a message 12:18 est am about a new pre-order, then got another at 6:52 est am with an invite
Now, who here has already ordered? When you place the order does it ask you for the last 3 digits (CVV) of the back of the card and, can you ship it to another address like work instead of the billing address?

After looking at it, it has a seperate set of boxes for the shipping address if you want to specify something different. Unfortunately, I still can't order one as they require visa or amex (no mastercard) for payment. If I cant find anyone to let me 'borrow' theirs by the end of the day today, I will probably end up giving my preorder invite to someone here on XDA or NIH. (Don't PM me about it either unless I ask, it will just guarantee that I wont give it to you )

It shows that it is shipping from XIAMEN China not Hong Kong... I thought it was sent to Hong Kong for final shipping, is this normal for their tracking info?
Edit 3: It has arrived! The "gift" was a universal adapter and surge protector. You have no clue how hard it is to take time to take a pic and post this before playing with it.

Don't want to be too pessimistic, but I think the actual shipment seems to be delayed again. Prior batches never had the shipping status "shipping in progress" (whatever that means), instead you could read "shipped from factory".
I am not a native english speaker, but the difference seems to be obvious for me.
It looks like NI tries to buy themself a couple of more days.

Unfortunately the Tata Nana had a breakdown on its way to the warehouse and 2.3785% of its payload was damaged in the accident. That means a slight delay for the affected customers and shipment days are now moved to April 22.

Purchasing a Xoom.

Hey guys, this is a question for the UK Xoom owners. Is there anywhere in the UK I can actually walk in to a shop and walk away with a Xoom the same day?
I have looked at Dixons, Currys, Comet, which all seem to be the same company nowadays, and all of them only offer 3-5 day online delivery. I would like to be able to walk into a shop have a look at the ~£500 piece of hardware I am about to buy and see if it is actually worth my money before I part with it.
Do this group have exclusive sales rights in the UK at the moment? Because I can't find it at any other highstreet store, I hate waiting for delivery, the aforementioned don't even offer next day delivery! I have to wait until Wednesday before I can get one delivered...

I think you can go into carphone warehouse and have a look @ the 3g one.

Aye, I noticed that last night. I also noticed the price, £579.99 SIM free! I don't know who they think they are kidding, plus it's a silver one, I don't know if I fancy silver but I am just being picky.
I'm going to go to Dixons/Currys in about half hour or so, see if they have a display model I can have a play with. I might just get one there and wait for the five days delivery.
I suppose the next most desirable tablet is the iPad 2 now, at least Apple had the brains to let you actually walk into a shop pay for one and walk out. I'm such a child, I hate waiting for things.

No-one went....drat I knew I should have gone.

I went after my lectures, there wasn't that many people there so the odds were pretty good. I was in the 3rd batch....and I won!! unfortunately they weren't handing them out there, they took my address and hopefully it should arrive monday.

Argh just seen this thread, wish I had seen it sooner would have gone! :'(
