Hi Guys
Im looking for an app or a way to display the latest incoming SMS over my lock screen without unlocking it? I have GOSms which is great and is set up perfectly when my screen is locked. But all I want is the screen to turn on (not unlock) and display the sms for say 10 seconds (or longer) so far iv exhausted all options as most popups will displayon top but unlock the phone which is dodgy in case it goes off in my pocket and either send random texts or forget i got one.
Hope im being clear enough and yeah iv done a search

Basically for want of a better sentence I want what the iphone has u see the message for a few seconds but need to unlock the screen before you do anything about it.
Cheers for the reply though

I'm pretty sure you can get it to work that way if you go into the notification settings, and popup settings. There are a few settings:
Screen on for popup - checked
Screen timeout - whatever timeout you want
Window mode - without quick reply
Show when locked - checked
If I understand correctly what you are asking for, this combination seems to do it for me.
cool dood will give a bash will report later !

Recently I updated to WM 6.1, so I have to reconfigure my device. Now I can't remember where I can turn off the menu with the big icons depicted at the bottom of my post. I find it really annoying to have an extra window pop up, since most of the time I click the right icon and don't need bigger ones.
I've already gone through all of the settings, but can't find the option to turn it off, though I know it's possible to! Any help is appreciated, I'm sure someone knows.

What about "TouchFlo" at Start - Settings - System?

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
If you have large start menu enabled then this is also part of it. I don't know if you can turn it off individually.
It can be disabled by deleting few keys in registry.
1)HKLM/Software/HTC/EnlargeTitleBar (Or something like that)
2)HKLM/Services/Largetitlebat (Or something like that)
Guys,
I like to check with you all whether any solution for the below problem :
Every time I boot up my phone, it will display the messaging menu on the background and I cannot view the HTC Sense main screen till I press any button.
Please see below photo of the problem :

Mine does exactly the same thing.
mine does the same thing too, it seems to be that messaging tries to open up on top of it, if you see on your screenshot, it says messaging at the top instead of start. Seems to be an issue with windows mobile i think as i had the same thing happen on my touch pro with a custom rom. it happens to me when i use the phone too, for example if i'm watching a video in full screen that messaging thing appears over it and exits full screen playback, doesnt happen all the time but enough to become annoying
Try booting the phone without the memory card inserted. Maybe it's corrupt.
I get this too. Tried searching for a fix but couldn't find one so good to see a thread started here about it.
Touching the screen will also take you to the main screen.
Weird. I get the "Launching HTC Sense" sometimes, but never the Messaging thing instead of Start.
It only happens on mine if the phone has been switched off for a while, for example over night, if I just switch the phone off and back on again it goes straight to the main screen.
I don't know where it is gone, but it is...
My Screen Unlock Slider is gone and i don't know how to become him back to my phone...

i thought it was this option in BSB Tweaks:
# Phone Slide Cover
* - Show or hide the incall slide cover option.
but no change after changing the value. Any help?
You're kidding, right?

I've the same problem too.
Few weeks ago I installed a new lock screen program (not S2U2) to subsitute the original one. Later I uninstalled it. the original lock screen is lost. It is now same as the one in WM6.1, i.e. showing unlock button at lower-left and a grey screen is shown to unlock after the button is clicked.
Anybody can help us to restore the lock screen of WM6.5?
Its actually quite simple (for someone who has the files) to resolve, i made a thread this morning with the same problem. ill copy the important parts:
The slider im looking for comes stock (i think ?) with the 1.61 ROM, it is transparent and uses the same type message symbol as the one in Sense. The files needed can be found in resco in the windows folder.
These are the full names of the files required to restore the slider:
\\windows\\icn_em_up.png
\\windows\\icn_em_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_mc_up.png
\\windows\\icn_mc_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_vm_up.png
\\windows\\icn_vm_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_sms_up.png
\\windows\\icn_sms_dn.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSliderLong.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSlider.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSlider_Dwn.png
Should be a simple copy n paste thanks
Hi guys!
I'm probably not the first one who thought about that, but I cannot find much about it here on xda and I'm curious why it hasn't already be done:
Wouldn't it be possible for devs to include an option to swipe notifications left to mark as read and right to delete (with an "undo" option popping up) in a similar way to the Gmail app? I don't know if this would work system-wide (say, for third-party apps like Whatsapp), but it should at least be possible for SMS and maybe the pre-installed exchange email app.
I think an option like this right inside the notification slide would come very handy for generic SMS no one ever reads like for example provider messages and the like.
What do you think?

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Although that would be useful, I don't think the swipe gesture returns any value to the application. Swipe just gets rid of the notification. The app wouldn't know if it was swiped left or right!
Besides if there are multiple notifications from same app won't all the messages get deleted then?

Hm I don't know much about developing, but if you were to mark it as read, won't the app need more permissions?
I mean in this case THE APP, say gmail, is going to your mailbox and marking the item as read and then returning that "read" value to the gmail servers, instead of your PHONE just avoiding the notification.
Then again I could be completely wrong here. I really don't know
You could also use a third party app : NotifierPro.
by desactivating the notifications from the sms app, and NP pops a banner that you can swipe left/right, to launch/read/dismiss. You can customize that.
But I guess that it would be nice too, to have it directly in the notification panel.
** I first posted this in Android Q&A, as I'm not sure if this is a device specific problem, but there weren't any answers to be had there - so I'm hoping that somebody here knows how to get rid of this extremely irritating bug. **
I somewhat recently got an LG V20. (H990DS)
Quite soon I became aware of the following issue:
Several times per day, when turning on the screen, either through fingerprint or pattern, the homescreen doesn't respond to touch.
I've activated "show touches" in the developer menu, and it show that the touches are being registered by the screen, but nothing at all happens.
Horrible stuff caught on camera:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If I first press the home key, then everything works as it should. It's like there's some kind of invisible overlay on the homescreen that intercepts the touches. It's also possible to pull down the status bar while the homescreen is non-responsive. Selecting anything in the notifications resets the homescreen to a working state.
Swiping the notifications up without selecting anything preserves the homescreen in the non-touch-responding state.
Things I've tried:
Factory reset
Rooting/downgrading ROM
Other launchers than stock: Nova, Next Laucher 3D Shell
Checking accessibility settings
Why u do me this horrible thing, Android?
So I'm all out of ideas. I've held off on using this phone as my daily driver because of this horrible nuisance.
I'm hoping that someone here has an idea about what's going on.
