I'm 2.2.1 rom on my Fascinate. I downloaded flash player 10.1 from the Market, but any time I want to view something that requires flash player, it says that I need to download flash player, and directs me to app via market, which shows ive downloaded it. Sigh. Any suggestions?

Make sure you enable plugins in the Browser's settings (either to Auto, or On-Demand).
Thanks. Its the simplest things that get the best of me sometimes

I tried to download a pdf earlier and the browser refused to download the file saying that its not supported...
Is there a way around this annoying issue?
Edit: Astro File Manager allows you to override browser download restrictions in its preferences. Problem solved.
That's weird, I havnt run into that and I have been downloading all sorts of crap from both browser and dropbox. Do you have a pdf reader installed? Try installing a reader and then downloading.

Astro lets you override browsers from preventing downloads on unsupported files. It's in the settings/preferences.
Ah ha. Thanks guys.
I stopped using Astro cause it didnt support 7z files...
I guess i should support those guys again
Hi, as another option I like using other file managers besides astro so I installed download file crutch it is not available in the market but you can find links for it here. Right now I am using that with estrongs file manager and it is great.

whenever i try to download a file of the default browser in cm7 it seems about half of them are unsuccessful. i also have this problem when downloading apps from the market. and after using gingersense for a couple days i didnt have the problem once, so i assume its a cm issue and i wanna fix it.
I also have this problem, downloads are almost everytime unsuccesfull.
The market works just fine.
Clear data and cache on an app called downloads or download manager under settings : applications. If you don't have the option use titanium backup to do it. Then reboot. Should be fixed after that

Is it possible to remove the stock android browser without any problems? I want to use xScope as my only browser and some apps always use the stock browser without asking me which I want to use, and I want that to stop.

Settings-all apps-browser-remove standart settings. (or similar)
Now you will get asked which browser to choose for the app thats calling the browser

normally it gives the option of which browser to start if you have more than 1 installed, you can put the tick in remeber selection and set the browser and from then on it will open in your choice, are you saying this doesnt work for ?
I'm running CM7 beta for Atrix. I have the MLB Atbat app. I can't get live streaming working in the app or in a browser.
I've tried the fix listed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201274
But live streaming still isn't working. The option is available, it starts to connect, and then video will freeze on the first frame while audio continues fine. Sometimes the video will just freeze on a jumble of colors. It's the same if I try to stream from the website in Browser or Dolphin HD.
What to do?
Ill check this out tomorrow too

this happens to me too. the fix linked is only for at-bat that doesn't recognize the device and doesn't give the video option.
i believe it it linked to flash, but i'm not sure. i could never get it working on 2.3.4 (AT&T) properly unless i uninstalled flash, tried a video and it prompted me to DL it from the market. once i used that link, i would pop back into at-bat and it would work. that method worked for a while and then stopped working.
i've tried it on CM7 and nothing. i've tried 5 different versions ranging from 10.2-10.3xx and no dice, first frame freezes. i really don't know what it is.
sorry i couldn't help, but just letting you know you're not alone.
I had the streaming working fine in gingerbread both in the app and dolphin hd. I was using Ken alien 4.

i never got at bat to work on stock froyo or stock gingerbread.. on the android market doesnt say video can play on atrix
if any one got it to work any advise... so i dont think is your ROM you installed
PS... i havent tried the latest version of at bat maybe they fixed it
Not a developer so take it easy. Was wondering if anyone can make a YouTube mod where music will keep playing even if you hit the power button. Thanks

There are apps on the market that do this. Not sure of the names off the top of my head right now, sadly, but they're on the Play Store.

Try this modified Youtube app:
http://db.tt/TwJYegfD
I found it from the Omega ROM
This app let's you listen to videos with the screen off and even let's you download videos if you want. But for some reason, you may or may not be able to sign into your YouTube account.
You need to push this app to /system/app and change permissions to rw-r--r--, and then reboot. If you already have a YouTube app in /system/app then you will have to delete your current one (or just rename it). If your existing YouTube app was installed from the Play Store then this one should not conflict with it. This one has a blue icon.

I can't remember exactly where I found this apk. I believe it was from the GSii forums, as part of a custom ROM.

You can just install this app like a regular app, and it will not conflict with an existing YouTube app. This one has a blue icon.
EDIT:
This modified app comes from the Omega ROM

I tried it but I get a parsing error when trying to install. I'm trying this on one of the jelly bean ports so that could be why. I'll try placing in system and see if that helps

Oops, my mistake. You do indeed need to place it in /system/app/ to install. My above post should have the correct instructions now.
Also on JB, at least on the SDK port I'm using, the pre-installed Youtube app is installed in /system. That means you'll have to remove or rename it if you want to use the modified version I posted (unless someone knows of a way for them to coexist?). And for whatever reason, the YT app on the Play store is listed as incompatible with JB.
