I own a droid x and am wondering about the Samsung galaxy tab. I viewed the instructional video on how to alter the tab to allow for the two devices to tether. It directed people to xda and look for a file written by dave ba. I could not find this file. any help would be appreciated
Samsung Galaxy TAB
My note should have stated Samsung Galaxy Tab not droid. I want to connect the Tab to the droid x so I can avoid the monthly verison fee.
Not sure about the specific file you are looking for but there are a couple things you can do. Download the wireless tether for root on your X or get the Team Black hat app. It has the Motorola 3G hotspot app for droidx and 3G HotSpot patcher.

Can anyone confirm for me that a rooted HTC Inc 1st Gen will wireless tether with a non rooted A500.
I currently have a rooted D1 and I can't use it to tether to my tab b/c of the ad-hoc. My D1 is starting to go anyway so I'd like to pick up a used Inc to hold me over til the SGS2 comes out. I know I can root the tab to allow ad-hoc, but right now I rather not. Thanks

Yes. I use the Wifi Tether app, since that is the only one I could get to work with my gTablet or the A500. Works well.
Thanks. ......Rushmore?

For months I have used Wireless Teather for root and had no issues. I just obtained a Acer A500 tablet and wanted to use it through the DroidX hotspot. Now every time I try to connect it sends me to the Verizon Hotspot signup page. Any idea? has Verizon caught on someway?
Thanks
There is a tether patch somewhere out there that you can flash that will fix this.
Motorola baked this guard into the Droid X's Gingerbread roms. If you were to use a 2nd-rom such as MIUI or CyanogenMod you wouldn't have this issue.

After searching the Web all weekend and not finding answers, I found a solution, that's working for me right now, to connect your P7510 to your wifi tether off your phone. The app I'm using is wifi tether v3.1-beta11, I just set device profile to auto, setup method to auto and boom my galaxy tab recognized and connected to my phone.
If you get the mobile hotspot connection warning from VZW, make sure the ROM that you are using, most usually do, has that feature removed. Hopefully this helps some people out cause I've seen a lot of requests for it when researching this topic myself.

Hello. I was trying to tether my Samsung galaxy tab 7.0 to my atrix 2 and the tab its not able to see it. Has anybody try to tether? Or does anybody have any thoughts about it?

don't know what app you use but the last time I did anything like this I used the app "Foxfi" running on my Razr Maxx and connected my laptop to it without any issue, should work with the tab since it basically just makes the phone a wifi "hotspot".
Ad Hoc GT2 7 FTW!!!

IF your just trying to tether fox fi, now called pdanet+ works like a champ and can be found in the app store. But if anyone can help me enable ADHOC on a Gtab2 7 I would be eternally give up family members (mom or first child) grateful. I got 12 of them and am trying to get them to work with "serval mesh". They work in client mode but i'm trying to make a huge adhoc sip network for infra-stature-less communications.

You will need to go to Samsung Apps and download Gear Manager Software and install and set it up. But you have to follow the correct sequence, I didn't and now having trouble with the Note finding the Gear, but I'm working on it.

What will the Galaxy Gear do with wifi? It cannot use it as it depends entirely on the phone/phablet. However, check custom ROMS for the gear tha may make it work independent of the phone and access internet via bluetooth.
