Why isnt rom manager pro being kept up to date with the newest stuff? Is the program useless now?
From my super clean dl30 fascinate
its useless to me.... koush doesnt like us anymore
I've always felt that this program is essentially useless, at least for this phone, but that's just my opinion. I do all my recovery work manually in red CWM, no need to trust a third party app that may mess something up for me.

I love rom manager for easy access to flashing, but was always puzzled why koush forced the developers to go through him instead of making an automated means of adding ROMs to the download section. Seems a bit elitist to me. Many of the Mods and themes never even make it on there.

Yeah, I bought the Pro version a while ago and wish I hadn't because it has been useless to me. Its a shame because its a fantastic idea for an app. What does he have against Samsung devs anyways?

The dev it supports is koush, who has done pretty much squat for SGS phones (there's a reason why we're all running Voodoo-based recovery...). If you want to support somebody who's helped us, donate to jt or buy supercurio's Voodoo app.

I understand that. Is there a way to build a new app? Then everything could be flashed from it. You could also charge for it and all you devs coyld split profit. That would simplifie things and you guys would be well supported by it.

Ok I was thinking to myself & reading through all the forums & thinking the only thing stopping us from rocking out froyo/Gingerbread action on are samsung Fascinate's is the kernel issue right ?

Well I was thinking why cant a more experienced dev than myself as I just started out as a developer a more experienced dev develop a app along the same lines to trick are fascinates into running Froyo/Gingerbread roms but still using the kernel we currently are using I am guessing the kernels might need to be tweaked but I think this is possible I believe if a more experienced dev contacted Jrummy he would give the source code to them to develope off of I am not sure but pretty sure he has it @ GITHUB

Actually he is half right. Punk.kaos currently has froyo and ginger running on the eris? He also apparently had froyo booting on the fascinate as well. And there is no source for the eris for either? Any clarification on this would prove to be very educational for all....

It's a nice thought, and one day we might see it. One thing is YES GB as well as FROYO have been seen booting on the Galaxy S phones but they have been GSM based phones not Verizon CDMA phones which have a totally different system writes.
Best bet would be to check on the IRC channels and see whats going on there, and see how things progress, great idea but not anytime in the near future, welcome to Samsung.

I came from the eris to the fascinate, and yeah there are now a ton of eris roms running froyo on the 2.6.29 kernel. And as I understand it, kaos is also working on gingerbread for the eris as well, and has a gb rom running (tho it still has problems). But to get to the point where the eris is at now, as far as it being able to run froyo perfectly with no bugs or glitches, it took a pretty long damn time. Its not nearly as simple as fooling the system into thinking that we're running a 2.6.32 or .35 kernel, unfortunately. There were tons of things that didnt work at first. In fact, almost nothing worked at first. But kaos and the other devs kept at it, and with each new release, they'd fix 1 or more of those things broken. Of course, they had help from a bunch of hero devs that were simultaneously working on getting froyo to work on the cdma hero.
My point is, however, that our devs are already working on this, but right now there are still some huge issues that make the roms/kernels far from ready for public release. But there is no reason to fear, as the devs will continue to do their thing, and even if samsung puts off releasing froyo for another year, I promise you that before too long the devs will have found a way to give us what we want.. namely, froyo and gb!

Not hating on other roms this just came to mind. This is a good noon rom because it has so many options the only dangerous things is that voodoo come activated so be careful!

Everyone has their personal opinion, and I respect yours. Personally, I think pre-installed launchers that were not used are basically bloatwares. I like a clean rom to work with and install only softwares that I need.

I don't care for ADW so I uninstalled it with Titanium. It's not like 2 or 3 extra launchers are putting me out of space.
I didn't know there was a .6 Axura yet. I just did 2.2.5.5 and I'm loving it though.

I promote that everyone tries all the roms because they all have their qualities. I just installed Axura 2.2.5.7 last night and all my benchmarks went up. My buddy is amazed at how fast you can navigate using this rom. I see the boot screen has not been changed lol.
Four launchers installed definitely classifies as bloatware to me. Don't need a dev to install apks for me. I prefer eugene r2 gingerclone. The rom is like 60mb smaller than any other vibrant froyo rom out now.

Some ppl have not tried all lauchers so this gives them that chance. Pick the one you like delete the others = no bloatware
i was using nero and i flashed this rom. i used it for about an hour and it was so slow i got frustrated and flashed back to nero and i am loving it. everyone will have a different experience i suppose.
I LOVED axura back when it was 2.1 then every rom started becoming themed like ginger bread I love the notification bar of that.
Can someones post a normal screen shot of axura?

Everyone has the right to comment with your opinions ... it all can and should also test the various ROM's and choose for yourself, so I am closing here!
guys i like my super clean rom for DL09 but the one thing i miss about my OG droid is that when ever i flashed a rom it would add features that would make it more compelling to stick with. The only thing i see with the fascinate roms are de-binging with no new features added not saying the devs don't work hard its just are there any roms out there that add features not specifing to which but just saying add them
On super clean, you can put DJ05 theme over it. Make sure to install DL09_aosp_lock_theme_hax after flashing the theme; it makes DJ05 themes compatible.

They are coming, pk and jt are working to bring 2.2 asap. Bird is bringing 2.3. Luckily, there are not too many differences in the RIL between 2.2 and 2.3 for the developers. However, birdman has said that this phone is on 1.5 RIL.

So some good news for you guys if you didn't want to read through 6482010 pages Oh the superclean thread, adryn says that he is teaming up without others to make a new ROM for the fascinate before they stop developing. So this is gonna be AWESME and hopefully soon. But the bad new is that fascinate developing is coming to an end.

Its not a fact, its what I have been realizing. I am inferring. You see, most of our best developers have gotton tb's. They will still work on the fascinate , but less and less until they have completeley put everything towards the thunderbolt. I think anyone can easily infer that

its easy to infer things...but its best to be careful when posting that stuff...ur post did make it seem like u read a specific quote somewhere
and did a lot of the devs get tbolts? sure they did.
but also the usual suspects still built kernels right away and adryn has been waiting for something new to actually release....superclean was tweaked about as good as it could be with what was available until very recently
sirgatez is busy but plugs away at the fascinate whenever he can...hes on the record as saying his tbolt was mostly to secure unlimited 4g and wont work on it for at least 3 months....
jt is a machine and has will put out a ton of code changes, releases in a short span...then take some time off...
and pk whether hes released something new or not recently is giving it his all on cm7
imnuts/nemesis are still pumping out kernel updates frequently
theres not much to worry about

Wow. Another nitpicking sesion. This is why the treads are getting too long for people to go through and find what they need.
Does anyone know the ETA for the new version? I'm running superclean 2.8 and wondering if I should upgrade to 2.9 or wait for the new version.
I don't want to whipe and install 2.9 and get everything the way I like it, and then the next day the new version comes out...

I just got my evo,(upgraded from htc hero) and as soon as we get root I'm going to flash miui. I had cm7 on my hero and loved it, but I want to try a few different roms out on this much faster device !

As soon as it happened.. I have 3 guys at work that bug me 2x a day for me to root their phones.
I will start with one and work my way around the store.

Synergy will be my first choice. I liked all the betas,but then started having heat related reboots, went into sprint and the rest is history including my ability to root...
I was using VR Kingdom so I would definitely try synergy and Kings shooter port.....urghhh I hate not being rooted!

So you kept rebooting after the phone got hot and then you couldnt boot until you bat. pulled? Yeah, same problem here...

I'm going to put CM7 on my evo. Then I will call Sprint tech support from a pay phone and yell I HAVE ROOT B*****ES!!!!!
