Is it possible to transfer a stock 2.2 rom (installed using the QDL tool) from one device to another WITHOUT having to go thru the whole QDL process again?

Principially yes, but I would not(!) recommend it. Especially installing a new recovery.img and/or radio.img is more save using fastboot, which needs a pc.

wierd u mention that, i used the phone to flash radio.img. through the recovery console. cant remember the commands tho
Id like to try and I have a spare g1 to try it on first its just the guides are a bit hard for me to follow

Yes you can flash the radio.img using an update.zip file and flash it through recovery, but this in certain circumstances may cause a brick. Using fastboot is more save.
I get what ur saying m8 hence the reason id try it on my spare g1 it would just be easier for me as couldn't even get adb working before lol I'm useless

toon, how about working out why ADB doesn't work? it's much more pleasant to be able to copy/paste commands which reduces alot of headache and chance of mistakes.
do you have a computer and data cable?
Yeah I do m8 tho gonna need some help

Well I gave it a whirl using rom manager and flashed cm 5 and it seemed to work ok but when it booted up it hung on the g1 screen so ended flash back my recovery backup

After hours of trying and getting annoyed lol I've finally managed to flash cm 6 using the clockwork recovery the only thing I dnt get is why I only have 22mb of ram available all the time even when using task control

Is it possible to do that, after flashing other Rom version than return back to the previous state by doing recovery using backup software

Hey just wondering how can i install cwm. I have rom manager and it says i have flashed cwm but when i turn off, boot into recovery and click install.pkg it tries to find an update to install. I am a newbie to android so please bear with me.

You should use the latest version of StreakMod Recovery instead.
Lots of reports that CWM and rom manager do not work correctly on the Streak.

Hey guys bit of an update
I read a guide called "what you need to know about streak" my device wasn't booting into fastboot so i tryed to do it the manual way l. When i was scrolling down through the manafactuer list Google was not in the list so i couldn't do it the way the guide suggests. Do any of you guys know what i'm doing wrong is it that i haven't downloaded dell pc suite? And btw you guys have been really helpful to a major noob like me

To get into fastboot, off your phone if it isn't. Then power on while holding down the camera button. Keep holding the camera button till you see a white screen then just follow the instruction in the pdf guide.
Fastboot needs your pc to have the dell streak usb drivers install which iirc, the dell pc suite does. Else you can manually install it too.
Okay thanks so i need to install PC suite or download the streak drivers

Unless you are on Android 1.6 you don;t need PC Suite. Download the drivers from here.
You can also try plugging your phone in with the usb cable while it is in fastboot mode, windows will probably install the drivers automatically (let it search the web).
Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I'm already asking for help
I have had my rooted Click/Tattoo for about 15 mouths now, yesterday I updated my recovery and flashed the wrong one by accident (I flashed a Wildfire one not a Click one).
The phone boots into Android 1.6 but won't let me flash a new recovery either on the phone terminal with Super User or on my PC with adb. Also I can't flash using Fast boot as my phone has decided to turn Security back on.
I have no Idea what to do, as I have a basicily useless phone at the moment, please help

I Have just tested that, it won't let me do that. However I have tried to flash an offical rom using fastboot on my PC and using Hboot on the phone itself. All I get is an "CID incorrect" error. Any Suggestions?
I guess you haven't a goldcard, right?

Basically you should copy a file whose name is clicimg.zip then fastboot THE phone -PWR+VOL-DOWN. The phone should then rolback TO factory. Look tor the file; id u can't fonda it icould provide

Hi guys, The phone boots into ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7. I have tried to install Amon_RA recovery using ADB to install a new rom but I keep getting this error, '/sbin/sh adb: not found'. How can I get this phone working again? I am more accustomed to Windows Mobile so I don't know much about android :s
i usually get that error when the phone is off
Same thing happen to mine is there a fix for this???
