Was thinking, would have been nice to have had a pre installed chat or social medium, where all adam owners would be connected with each other and notion ink reps. It was recommended we could set up a gtalk or some common active social gathering area.

Sounds like a good idea.
Why don't we use Yaaic IRC chat and have a Notion Ink chat room channel. Maybe ##notioninkchat.
I don't suggest we use ##adamroot for that, because that would interfere too much with actual development for Adam.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
#notionink_adam and ##notionink_adam already exist, I was thinking more like pre installed in adam roms. So that even notion ink could chat with the majority of connected adams, an adam network~
Something less intrusive, gtalk, yahoo, msn, common twitter/facebook page, some people are more used to. I'm guessing though since it's preordees target audience are tech blogs, it's users maybe a bit more saavy..

Hey guys, I was just wondering where everyone goes to read their news, and also trying to get other options for good tech-related stuff.
Typically I'm on Engadget, and while the site is usually decent, the last few months some of their articles are clearly being written for the Apple/Android trolls, it's a bit disappointing that they seem to post stories just to rile up the rampant trolls and get page views.
Of course, I've also used Gizmodo, but they seem to even worse as far as posting about anything and everything related to Apple and giving Android-related news the shaft.
Podcasts I like the twit.tv stuff and BOL and other non tech news stuff
I hardly browse tech news sites anymore... custom RSS feeds of tech blogs gets me all the relevant info I need without extra spin (they contain some of their own, sure, but this at least removes a layer and usually greatly reduces popups and flashy annoying banners).
Phanndroid and droid life. The same regurgitated stuff but the writes on those sites have some accountability. Especially phandroid they respond well to the community and are really trying and leave to self entitlement at the door. I dont do the fancy rss stuff just a simple bookmark and dolphin hd
I'm a regular at Futuremark and get most of my tech news from Anandtech and Endgadget
Twitter.
Your mind = blown.
I am partial to the gawker network.

I use MaximumPC magazine Maximum Tech's websites. They do a great job to test, review and are not so biased, although they are very Microsoft friendly. They recently reviewed Win7 Phone vs Android and gave Win7 the win because of battery drain and ease of use, but to me the customization and the thousands and thousands of apps on the market make Android much much better than Win7. I can't say for sure because I have never used it though.

Engadget is the best out there, IMHO. However, I also have Electronista (for more dry numbers reporting) and Gizmodo on my RSS feed. Gizmodo has gone seriously downhill in the past year and while I continue to read it for the off the wall stuff they dig up, their gadget coverage and especially commentary is now trash.
I highly recommend listening to the Engadget podcasts (I listen to Classic and Mobile) as well as watching the Engadget Show. They are funny, informative, and well produced.
This thread is OT by the way.
TechCrunch, Engadget, Silicon Alley Insider (iPhone Biased, but they have some interesting stories), Gizmodo, and Phandroid. I visit them in that order, daily. Sometimes multiple times a day. Yep...I'm that big of a loser.
I use the app pulse. I have most of the sites people are talking about here in my feed. It's much easier than visiting 10 different sites and it frees up my time for reading way too much stuff on here!
Most of the time this EVO general section is my mobile tech news source
But I frequent mobile.engadget.com for news and a little comedy (the comments there are hilarious).

What is a phone without an IRC-channel? Nothing imo. So I created a channel on freenode (same as #htc-linux/htc-linux-chat etc), so why don't you join me and hopefully others and chat about the SGS2 and other random stuff?
If so;
Server url: irc.freenode.net
Channel: #SGS2
I'll add some other OPs if the channel gets "popular".
If you don't know what IRC is, click here.
IRC clients you can use; mIRC, irssi or xchat
Hope I'll see ya guys there.
Edit: My username on the channel is Berger

xChat is free.
(xChat-WDK for Windows)
Sent from my Captivate using XDA Premium.
if you look at the about page it shows it's free for 30 days (trial) only, then you need a license

unfortunately there are hardly any legit free stuff in life
the government will start taxing for the air we breath sooner or later
Good stuff usually isn't free. Why would it be? No one's gonna do something for nothing. Definitely not me.
And I gotta pay my firefighters, so I'm okay if they start taxing the air if they need to.

Open source irc client for windows.
they hydra is an excellent recommendation!
Well, sorry for posting links to paid apps, but anyways, why don't you people join the channel?
because there isn't really much to talk about at the moment, at least not until the phone hits the street for the public consumer (us the users)
Well, finally I can bump this thread, seeing as the phone is released in the UK
We are still a few people hanging out in the channel, so why don't you guys join us?
Ive been there since day 1, always connected with my Xoom using Yaiic.

The OP only suggested a few clients, he wasn't telling anyone to pirate them - why so harsh? (This isn't a rhetorical question, I'd really like to know.)

That statement makes me sad ... Good that it isn't true, especially not for IRC clients: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_clients. FWIW, I use ChatZilla (a free plug-in for Firefox) myself.
BTW, you can direct-link IRC channels, like this irc://irc.freenode.net/SGS2.
Is there a Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Diaspora, etc page for you guys? That way we can keep track of this new project more easily than having to come here. Just curious :good: Some friends and I were talking about something similar to this project just yesterday then I saw this today. Very interesting. Excited to see what happens with this.

As Pulser stated above there are social entities in place, however it is not a high priority at the moment. This project is progressing but we are going to do so slowly so we don't rush things.
Heya guys, im here to share some news with you all.
I started working with a Marketing Company a month ago, and one of their branches does marketing services for Apps and Games developers, specially for Indies... They have a big community in Instagram with over 20.000 users, being one of the biggest Apps Page on Instagram, their page is called @apps_and_Game.
I proposed to my Boss to do a special offer to our community developers since im from this community and so on, I've found it usefull and could be useful for you guys as well, to shoutout about your games and projects... but more important than that, to do it CHEAPLY.
From my personal point of view as a Game Developer, I've found this Advertising option incredibly good for us around here, specially for mobile developers.... why?
-Instagram is a Mobile Social Network... This means if the user is checking the @apps_and_Game page, and reading about your game, they are doing it through their mobile devices, and if they like your App they will directly download it since they have the device on hand! Its a different effect than getting the advertising while surfing on their PCs.... People are more likely to jump to the Appstores and get the app they just saw in the palm of their hands, even if its awesome or kinda good since there is no need of a big effort.
- Instagram is a combination of Visual and Textual Advertising (since you publish pictures and images) but also text and information can be added, so its a quick method to catch attention of any kind of public.... and you can even ask to publish videos of your app!
- Followers are from your niche.... This means that if you like a page on instagram, you click to "Follow that page", that way the 20k+ community they have on @apps_and_Game are all people that are APP HUNGRY, they want to receive news about...well, apps and games to install them right away
- But the most important... Its economical dude. When i was in my pursuit to advertise my game i found tough options, coming from 50$ to up to 500$ to get a featuring, which is a hard investment when you are starting on this business, but this guys have friendly prices for developers, and much more with the nice discounts i proposed for our community, being as low as 5$ for publishing and talking once about your Product, and you can repeat it as many times as you might need, adapting your strategy to your budget since they show different prices and offers.
Hope this info is useful for you guys, ill also keep you informed around here the following weeks!
I've seen this work well with Instagram and Vine influencers extremely well. However it's more for LIfestyle/Social apps, but still another channel that definitely is underutilized.

thats pretty accurated! by other side , we have looked and performed to have followers from an active gaming niche as well, thanks to the partnering with other influencers and to the hashtags smart strategy.
I am interested. How to get connected with you?

Bots? how can u say that by the likes? engagement comes from content type, not from users amount... and if it was the case, still an average of 600likes and more than 4k views in videos for only 5$ per post is WAY TOO ECONOMICAL for any developer, a single instal costs around 2$ depending the country so do your maths my friend
I do understand all that instagram thing, the average likes per subs percentage is around 5% however yours one is 10 times lower. But yeah perhaps it still provides a bit of effect to your client.
I didn't intend to post more negative things, don't know why you are willing to continue this discussion.

Im not continuing the "discussion" im just replying your post because it did seem as a negative post and may affect an honest business reputation, specially if coming from you under a -dont really understand the instagram thing- state, just chill! Only making sure things are clear enough im sure you might understand hehe
