Can someone tell me how to adjust the backlight timer? I dont like it when I read something and the screen goes black so quickly.
-dan
Did you know you have a settings menu for many things, like how long the backlight stays on? Go explore that menu.
Menu--->Settings--->Display--->Screen Timeout--->you choose the timeout duration...

Sorry for the noobie questions. Next time, I'll make the effort to find the answers on the easy stuff.

I know your issue was solved, but just thought I would mention that the advanced power app has alot of widgets one of which is the back light timeout on/off. I use that to toggle the back light timer when I am reading on the table.
Thanks. -dan
Hit the thanks button a few times. Glad your question was answered.

Hi,
Anyone know how to create a script that sets the backlight to always on, and the sleep option to not to sleep?
I need this because I, as many of you, have a bluetooth gps. Everytime I want to use it I need to go to settings and manually set these settings in order to have the screen always on so I can see the maps while I'm driving.
Many thanks
Chris

You should be able to drag and drop the icon to the dock.

not sure wat ur talkin about but i think if u hold down on ur desktop... pick activity...create custom shortcut... click activities... scroll down to dialer. let me know if ur talkin about something else.
Thanks for your replies.
See Screenshot below to see for which icon im talking.
so are u saying its missing from that certain spot? or just missing in general? or missing from the app drawer?
Missing from the certain spot.
It was there yesterday, i was playing with the menus/options and i probably disabled it by mistake probably.
Thanks for the help. Plenty of key words in your replies to sort it out.
Just reseted ADW and its fixed.
Dont know if theres an option to enable or disable it but reseting fixed it.
Hi, there's an option to turn the left and right softkey on and off in the ADW setting.
I can't create screenshots but try to explain it briefly here (it's simple) although you have reset it, it may benefit others who come across the same problem.
so in ADW settings..
> Interface Settings
there's a Turn On/Off Left Action Button option.
check it to have the phone icon on, uncheck to take it away.
Effectively you can disable to right action button (web browser) as well.
You can also turn on two more extra button as well, but haven't had time to figure out how to set the shortcuts... only have 2 blank keys theres at the mo.
Sorry for, if there're, any inaccurate labelling as I have mine in T.Chinese so not sure what the exact English labels are... shoudn't be far off though.
Hope it helps~
Hey, is me again!

Does anyone know how to disable thr vibrate when clicking the physical keys on the bottom of the phone (the menu, home, back, and search buttons)? Or even better just make it so that its not even as strong...

I second this. My vibrate on my Droid 2 doesn't work properly, so I just want to turn it off altogether.
Isn't that the "haptic feedback" option in your settings? Sorry, X user here.

Tried that it doesnt really change anything other than making the lock screen sliders vibration a little less.
I've seen people on here talking about the minimum screen brightness being too high.
I've used this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mlhg.screenfilter&hl=en) in the past and it works.
The main reason I use it now is because it has an option to "Dim capacitive button lights" which turns them completely off. I personally love the look without the button lights.
It does have a ongoing notification to get into the settings but the icon can be hidden or once you have it all setup, you can disable notifications for the app in Android's settings.
Something cool I thought some of you might find useful

You could try a different rom. Or you can try an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor&hl=en
It's also a nice way to get your screen even darker.
The only draw back is the status bar notification.

problem solved by turning on power saver mode anyway. but thanks for trying to help me
option B
You can download a hidden menu app from the play store. Then go into the application "engineer mode". There you will find a button to turn the lights for the buttons on & off.
Here are some screenshots of the menu.
