[Q] Sim Unlock code 3 times false - HD2 General

Hello Guys!
Let me introduce shortly myself:
My Names Christian and the last Years i used very satisfied Symbian.
From my Carrier i got gifted an Sony X8 wich i wanted to try out. I liked Android then so much that I'm reading here on the forum now very interessted for two weeks. So my decicion was clear: I need an HD2, because there I can also have Android
I bought yesterday one used with a Sim Lock for 3 Hutchinson, Austria.
At first i was surprised that most of the code unlocker sites can't unlock this model. And then, when i put my tele.ring Sim Card in, i was more suprised. The HD2 says that the unlock code had entered 3 times and I need now to wait for the timeout...
Now i know why the seller also gave a Rebel Sim II with the HTC....
This Rebel Sim is now working proberly with my HD2 and my telering Sim but I dont like this, because it's not a clean solution...
So is there still a way to unlock my HD2 in a code /software / hardware matter?
I've been searching the forum yesterday for 3 hours, but I didn't get a solution for my problem... When I have not seen it, I'm sorry for anoying you guys.
This forum is great, you are doing perfect jobs

Are you sure that you have Sim lock exactly? it's seems that you have an operator lock.

Ok, sorry that i was so inaccurate, for sure it's a lock to the carrier 3 in austria

same problem here. did you find a site with unlock codes for 3 AT?
only one i found is http://www.foneszone.co.uk but there are no trustable reviews

i have the same problem, anything new? Has anyone managed to unlock a phone from 3 at

SIM Unlock

Hello all. I got a TMobile Wing from US (I'm from South America), but it's SIM Unlocked.
Anyone knows where can I get a "unlock code key generator" where I can input my IMEI and it gives me my SIM Unlock Code!???
I'm not willing to pay U$ 35!!!!!!!!!, because the phone already cost me a fortune here.
After reading the WIKI, I saw that at this point there's no way (except paying to some obscure website) to unlock the wing.
My points are:
1) How hard can It be to unlock it, because:
1) the website can do that, and I'm pretty sure they're not using the official way.
2) I only need SIM unlock. When I use my SIM card, it asks for an unlock code. I'm assuming that the unlock code is a function of my IMEI number.
If there are code generators for other HTC models, how different the algorithm can be? And, of course, the guys from that website most probably have broke it.
3) I used to crack 68k code long time ago on my Commodore Amiga. Is there any emulator or something? A debugger like softice? Who's working on the unlock code generator? Can I help?
I've been going thru the herald forums for months now, and I have yet to hear of anyone being able to bypass SIM lock on the herald ...
I'm sure if you could figure out how to unlock, it would be much appreciated by the whole community.
i second that.... hope you find a way man... because ive been itching to get my wing working... 35 dollars for a code? that would be too much... some say they can get it from t-mobile for free, you just have to contact them... the problem with our situation (yes i bought mine from ebay also), we do not have a contract with them. i tried it already and they were not willing to help unless i am the subscriber myself asking for the unlocking. i tried contacting the person i bought my phone from but i got no answer.

I have no idea how it happened, though

Sim lock

Hello guys,
Does anyone know if the turbo sim will bypass the sim lock on the htc tattoo?
if you have it try it and tell us, but if you don't i would recommend you to unlock it via imei preferable.
Flashing Won't remove CID lock
Hi
I have tried several methods on here to change from my UK Orange branded Tattoo.
I purchased an unlock code, but this was just based on the IMEI from HTC & didn't allow me to use any other sim.
Orange have really butchered the software to stop you using a different network.
I have managed to remove the Orange branding & got back the standard HTC apps.
However the Orange CID (customer ID) still remains & prevents any other sim being used. Even with the HTC software the APN is still greyed out.
Eventually I bought an I-sim2008, a few websites have them but I chose ebay.
With this underneath my sim it bypasses the CID check & allows me to use a different sim card.
Many people have claimed to use the phone with a different sim, but this is the only method I have found to work, I have spent about a week non-stop flashing, I now believe the only way to remove the CID would be on a rooted device with a custom ROM image.
Hope this helps a bit?
Up to now there is no development on the root or rom side, either not many people have the Tattoo or they dont' think it's worth while doing.....
Lets keep our fingers crossed.....

Codes for Orange UK have been a problem. The codes are correct but you need to flash the right rom.
The Italian locked Tattoo's don't have any problem with regard to unlocking.

Thanks for the heads up dude. Have you tried to enter the code after flashing the rom?still no good?Well, Ive seen a good place on the web where I can get a I-smartsim 2008 and its much cheaper than buying the code.

So ferraripassion you assure me that if I flash the ROM, the code will work?
Ive been in touch with htccode and their prices are really good (compared to others on the web) but problem is that they do not have a money back policy in case the code doesnt work. From the various reviews Ive read here and there, I dnt think I should invest in something that might not work when I have the I-smartsim.
On the other hand there is unlock-now, their prices are a bit higher but they assure me a money back in case that their code does not work on my mobile. I think Ill give it a shot. I have nothing to lose, if it works Ill be very happy if it doesnt ill have my money back
Well, thank for your comments guys. Have a merry christmas 2009 and a happy new year 2010
Cheers

It worked for me, bought the code in htccode.com, flashed my device and everything ok.
MiSSigNNo when you enter HBOOt, do you have an option <simlock>?

What would the correct ROM be for one on Orange UK?
I have used the RUU Click HTC WWE 1.67.405.6 WWE release signed NoDriver.rar from their website & am still having problems getting any other sim card to work.
As mentioned in my last post, I have been trying for about a week to get it working.
@yash08: I have this option, but when I tried to use it I got an error about files missing of the mem card?
@jusumgeezer: Am no expert, really and I might be completely wrong on this, but from what ive understood is that tattoo's not from orange uk dont have this <simlock> option, and orange uk does. Might this be why we cant use an imei generated code? Must we unlock this some other way?
By the way, I flashed and bought the code and it does not work neither!
Same as me then, got rid of the orange branded rubbish & got all the HTC stuff back, but still need the i-sim2008 to use another sim card. Otherwise it just gets stuck on the "unlocking Sim Card" screen or the APN is greyed out.
Well on my side I am very satisfied with unlock-now.com service. As soon as I supplied a video proving that the code didnt work, I got a refund without any hassle. Was like a knife in butter . They are very professional, I recommend their service to anyone.
Now I am just waiting for the I-SmartSim 2008 to be delivered. If this can be of any help to anyone, I bought it from here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12167.
Hey guys are there any developments on unlocking Tattoo from Orange UK, it's been more than a week that i got the phone and i still can't use it, it's driving me crazy.
Nobody knows what should flash ROM code to take HTC Tattoo Orange UK?
The only solution is as per the link above, that is how I got my Orange phone to work. It is the only known solution to date even though it is just a workaround and far cheaper than an unlock code.

Code I have already paid. And the phone for sale, it will be difficult to explain why the client needs turbosim.
Hello
Could You tell me please which ROM should i use to unlock this handset? I've got the code...
I've tried:
r2-mcr-tattoo-withadditions-signed.zip
Says "network unlock success" but still not working
and this one:
fyodor-TattooROM_v0.5.3.1.zip
Says "network unlock success" but after this freezed on "Unlocking SIM card" for around 20 mins and I'm still waiting...
Any advices?
Thank You
hi guys,
i just want to know if the i-smartsim is the only thing needed to unlock the device or will i have to buy an unlock code as well?
If i choose this phone, it will be locked on Orange Fr network.
Thanks for your help.
Well the ismartsim is no more needed. If you get the last ROM update from Orange, you will be able to remove the simlock with a imei based code.
And to answer your question, no you dont need to buy a code if you use the ismartsim but as I said you can unblock your phone with the code now.
Ok, thank you.
I've order both the phone and the ismartsim (just in case )

Is it posible to unlock HTC tattoo for free?

Hi,
Im new in the forum and I havent found any info about unlocking the Tattoo for free, in theory the best way to do it is with the IMEI code, however I havent found any software for doing it for free, I found some for most of the HTC phones but not for Tattoo.
Can anyone help me with this? Is there any other way to unlock it? For free.
Thanks,
Carlos.
I wonder that too. Today I payed HTCGate.com for unlock code and didn't got any response from them, except payment approval
I would also like to know this as i just purchased a tattoo today and it is locked to orange.
I have the same Scenario. I've got an Orange locked Tattoo and everything I've tried so far has been in vain.
What I have managed to do is remove the Orange ROM and flash it with a generic ROM, gets rid of all that orange guff. Unfortunately, doing that alone doesn't unlock the device.
I've also bought one of these iSim super sims. That hasn't arrived yet, but I'm hoping that it will in the next couple of days. I'll let you know how I get on with that.
Again, this is all a bit new to me, not being in this space before. From what I gather the problem is the Radio element of the ROM. So it's possible to flash the other elements, but there's some additional security around the Radio and that's where the CID check occurs. You may have noticed they've been able to root the tattoo recently and that should in the near future give us the ability to build our own custom ROM and flash the device with that.....I'm really hoping that process will properly unlock the device.......but its not been done yet as far as I can tell.
I think if I had my time again, I'd tell our lass to not buy the tattoo off Ebay and pay £180 from Play.com for an unlocked one. But we are where we are.
1. CID lock and SIM lock are 2 different stuffs
2. Even if you pay for the sim lock it might not work, like for most of us here
3. ISmart Sim 2008 works like a charm to bypass the SIM lock. Here is a link from where i got mine:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12167
4. Lets hope that root allows us to permanently remove the sim lock
I also purchased a SIM unlock 2008 and works great on a Orange Tattoo for now. Apart from the other week pissed up dropped my phone and lost the sim unlock and had to buy another!
any news about free sim unlocking of tattoo? I'm becoming mad cause of this...
Hi have found this link

For a fee, some service providers will even give you the unlock code for your phone. There are also third party companies that provide cell phone unlock codes for a fee that ranges from $5 to about $25, depending on the model of phone you have. i will suggest the website TheUnlockSpot.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website.

Unlocking X10 Question

A friend of mine has an x10 by vodafone. He recently bought it from their store. He also bought a unlockcode by vodafone (legal). So good, so far!
BUT - when he entered another simcard in the phone to start the unlockprocedure - he put in the pincode instead of the unlockcode. (he is not that technical). After 5 times of trying the phone is now locked for unlocking. One says the phone has now to be unlocked by software meyhod and can not be unlocked by code anymore.
Softwaremethod is not available. Can someone give me any advise how to handle to get the option back to put in the unlockcode again?!
flashing? anything else?
Take it back to the store and get them to do it, if they can't use a simple unlock code then I can't see them being any good with a software method.
sounds like its been accidentally locked you need a PUK key to unlock it ....(if its not stolen..not saying it is!) then the service provider should supply this PUK override code to allow you to change it to a more easiky remembered code

It sucks to see people having problems with unlocking their phones...but wait! here's you're lucky day Follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731240&page=4 and go to post #38 and you'll find the answer. I was one of them who got the phone for a week, tried almost all of the online remote unlocking services and didn't work, bought the manufacturer's code and entered it too many times that the phone counter-blocked itself. Anyway...long story short, I was able to unlock my phone with HTCCode.com. I don't have anything to do with their website, but they were the only place that could unlock my phone, and trust me I had three other buddies from this forum that had the same problem but unlocked the phone with them. If you have any problems, pm and I'll try to help. You should read the thread I sent you first and you'll understand, but if you can't wait, click on the link on post #38 and talk to HTCCode directly. They are friendly and very helpful. Good luck buddy, give me feedback too

Question for Three UK Note 3 users

Hello, all, very quick question, I have searched the forums, and googled this, but can only find information regarding the region lock, not the the sim lock itself. So my question is, for anyone who has purchased a Note 3 on Three UK, is the device locked to the three network, or could I say use an O2 or Vodafone sim card in it (all UK sims). If not, is there an easy way around the sim lock?
Thank you in advance for anyone who has taken the time to read and answer this post.

Is it on contract? If so then yes the device will be locked to Three UK and you have to use the phone for atleast 3 months and then pay 15£ to get it officially unlocked by three.
HOWEVER,
I bought my phone last week, got an unlock code from eBay for 6£, unlocked the phone, and replaced the branded firmware with an official unbranded firmware - so technically, my phones no longer ThreeUK branded. I use 3 different sims. The latter step is not really necessary, because you can still use multiple sims with just an unlocked phone. I replaced the firmware because I didnt want any carrier branding.
You can get the code from eBay and they will email it to you within half an hour (I got mine in just 5 minutes).
cool, thank you for the reply. have an O2 sim, so want to be able to use both until the missus 's contact runs out and she takes my o2 one. don't suppose you have a link to the eBay item

wont it cause a wrranty problem if you need it from vodafone since you have debranded software it will be obvious to vodafone you have changed software. Unless your knox isnt tripped and you cant reflash a vodafone version without tripping knox
Payg customers with three can unlock their phone straight away, monthly contract customers have to wait 30 days and pay their first bill before they can unlock their phone. I would post the link to three's support page but I am not allowed to. Just Google three unlock code.
