Can someone please tell me if this works? I cannot put this into my dell streak browser because my phone is acting up. Please let me know if this works. It take you to the download page to back up and then download the files. Please put this link into you phone browser. Good Luck.

I cannot be certain. I was googling this and came across this. The one that is on my device when I go to settings about device and system updates, is a different web address than this one I just posted.
its pointless to try as the update mechanisme is triggered by the device itself and uses this template html for the visual appearance. once the update is invoked it will pass your baseband version in order to get the right file for upgrade. after that it will only decrypt on the right device which has the right "keys"

The official update to Froyo 2.2 from Dell MobileUpdate through wifi(system update) is avail. I did my update an hour ago, it was seamless.
What is your old Frimewaer ?

Hmm.. This looks to be a newer update then what arrived earlier last week, that was the 309 update. This is 315.. Any link to the file location?
Cannot seem to find any new OTA updates when I check..

I Wonder why the update from dell does not have the color settings menu like every other carrier upgrade to Froyo.

Their is a very good Guide in the Development area Called
Upgrading and down grading the streak
Just installed the 2.2 12332 build package. Cant see any change yet. The server redirects bug still exists.
Install does not wipe anything.

if youre on facebook please post all urls that get the server redirect error to DellHomeUK page, I've raised it and posted there with some.
I have upgraded from 309 to 318.......wanting to root it using z4root and universal androot but both apps dont work for this 318 version.....
does anyone have any clues to what i can do? please advise, thanks

Super one click Roots it fine search xda for it
That is the baseband version you referring to right? I have 309, what is the difference, can't find it anywhere...

You can use Super One Click..... to root the 318 version..... that's what I used to root mine....type super one click xda in google to find it since it's not on the market anymore....hope that helps

there is a big difference between 309 and 318......its way faster and smoother!!! advised u to upgrade!!

z4root works apparantly, not too sure
best way is with superoneclick.
z4root is not working for me under 318 it closes without rooting but I get no force close dialog box it just goes back to the homescreen. If I long press on the home button and go back to z4root then I get the force close.
no pc = no superoneclick

Thats strange running the same and it worked fine have you tried closing down the PC and pulling battery on the streak and try it again
And make sure USB DEBUGGING is ticked

thats odd, got usb debugging switched on?
not sure if you need to do the whole fastboot driver changes to get it to work, had already sorted it with the sdk before i even touched SOC

u need to install the windows drivers for Streak when going into fastboot and debuggging ur phone
superoneclick faild like 10 times then i clicked "shell root" THEN "root" and now i'm rooted woot!

thank you as i was also stuck on the "waiting for device" screen & installing the pc suite fixed it for me
I had the same problem, I reinstalled the adb drivers and it worked.Worth a shot.... Ive got a White Streak on 318.

Rooting Streak with Froyo on a Mac
Hey Guys,
I just got my Dell Streak at the beginning of the month. I just got it unlocked and rooted. I am looking to upgrade to Dj Steve's Rom however, I'm having a hard time finding the information I need to do so. Most of the info I have found pertain to AT&T (US) and O2 (UK) users. I'm trying to find out how to go from the stock 1.6 from Rogers (build 7921) to DJ Steve's latest build (or most stable build).
So here is what I'm asking for today guys:
1) If anyone in the Ottawa (National Capital Region) knows how to do this and is willing to go through the process for me (or with me), I'm willing to pay for a successful upgrade.
2) If you can give me clear guidance or point me to the appropriate information, it would greatly be appreciated.

if you used a search on the dell streak forum for "rogers" you would have found THIS
but since im here, i found that THIS thread helped me with what i needed to install on my computer to be able to update
then i used the main tutorial HERE to get to a prerelease version of froyo
from there you can use the "next steps" guide in the above link to get you to either an official release of 2.2 or to dj_steves froyo 1.6.1 which u can find in the development thread

Same here, id love a youtube, it makes it newb proof.
I tried to do the 1.6 rogers to 1.6 o2 path, but i kept getting errors.
And 5 days after i had my streak, the cam had some blurs so i returned for a new one.
Its been over two weeks now, and when i called dell, they said my streak is in production status.
i know, it sux to be me.
**** wanted to add the followin error msg that i had

I bought this phone today and it was advertised to come with 2.3 gingerbread, tho it came with froyo 2.2. I downloaded 2.3 firmware from offical huawei website(its official firmware - kernel-2.6.35-U8800pro-Gingerbread.tar cant post link because it my 1st post)
I didnt find any instructions on how to install it on my phone, if someone could tell me how or give me a link to instructions it would be much appreciated.

It should be.zip, not tar. You downloaded a kernel, not rom.

I managed to do it probably the easiest thing to do is to download this archive at megaupload.com/?d=55XORRPE and just follow the instructions in .pdf its very simple

I'm a n00b, too And I haven't understood where is the UPDATE-g.APP that I see in the guideline. And I haven't understood if the point 2.1.4 of the guideline is necessary for europe area.
