I have the same problem with the native aosp email client. I can connect fine with the sense client and touchdown. I have tried time and time again for a solution to no avail. I have even called my I.T. department and they Sid thy its on Google's end and there was nothing they could do. Its a real bummer.

Thanks for your response guys

I had mine workin fine before I rooted and havent been able to get it to connect since then...

I have been using my EVO for my work (Exchange) email and calendar since launch day. It has worked on non-rooted Sense, rooted Sense and rooted non-Sense. I just had to add "webmail" before my exchange name (webmail.company.com).

No problems whatsoever with the Email client in CyanogenMod 7. Connects, syncs, push notifies, does calendar, email, and contacts.

If your company is publishing "outlook anywhere" the stock sense mail client should connect and auto configure. Only needs domain and account credentials

Agreed. The only thing missing for me is search.

Mine works fine.

Just be aware that if you connect your personal cell phone to your work Exchange account then they can wipe your phone.
http://www.npr.org/2010/11/22/131511381/wipeout-when-your-company-kills-your-iphone
With Exchange 2010 you can wipe the phone yourself using OWA. Maybe with 2007 as well but my company uses 2010.

Appends on your Exchange server policies. The stock android client is not compatible with certain security policies.

[Q] Exchange Syncing

has anyone found a way to sync the droid to exchange???? and better yet without a password. We could sync with version 2.1 but since upgrading to 2.2 we can no longer sync to the server
I use it with my work email .... My company is on Exchange 2003. Never had any problems with 2.1 or 2.2. Calendar, Global Address Book and Email all work perfectly. (I don't sync contacts as I use my Gmail contacts.)
i am able to sync to exchange with both touchdown and the preinstalled apps no problem.
+1
Never had an issue with corporate sync or touchdown
It's hard to beleive no one is here or ppcg uses a 2010 exchange.
Yes Sapo! I too am having problems with corp sync. Its all over the Droid forums.
The problem is primeraly with domains having more then 3 letters after the dot. Yes the old 2000 2003 and some 2007 exchanges work.
But its hit or miss...
In our case, we have a .info and no one at Moto, thought people would use 2010 exchanges.
Moto said they are working on it and offer the pos touchdown licence as a temp fix. Problem with td is it does not integrate with phone. It is stand alone. Contacts are exclusively on its UI it sucks!
SOLVED!
If anyone is having exchange problems, your probably on a 2010 or 2007sr2.
Try using the numeric server address. But only in last question or box.

I'm trying to help a friend out with this problem as I have an Evo.
What's the easiest way to get the numerical address as you say?
This really is silly...they should have considered this long ago.
thank for any help you can give...
It's more than that unfortunately. Verizon is apparently aware of this issue with blur email. Stock froyo mail doesn't have this issue. Maybe fixed in the next OTA.

Native email app

I'm coming from a blackberry to android.
I had a Nexus One for leisure purposes and it got me hoocked to Android.
Now I'm giving up on the blackberry for a Desire HD and I still cannot figure a way to replace the awesome email service from my old blackberry.
Downsides I'm facing:
-battery drainage;
-difficult or multi step configurations;
-delays receiving email notifications, when compared to the immediate blackberry delivery.
I'm looking for solutions.
Tried K9 and other email apps and the native app, but it seems that Android is still struggling to get multiple accounts working efficiently at the same time, specially business oriented.
Any tips?
It should I just stick to blackberry for email solutions?
Tks folks.

I switched from BB as well. For my work email/calendar/contacts. I use Touchdown. Easy to set up exchange and does pretty much everything I need. The only issues I have are related to recurring events and contacts sorting. TD also works very well with Pure Calendar Widget. Of course BB is the email king for business use, but this setup is not bad either.

I'm using K9 with multiple accounts, setup as push and I always get my mails delivered instantly.
For me it works perfectly, what problems do you have?
Also +1 for Touchdown. All of the people I know coming from Blackberry find it to be a good replacement.
Thanks guys.
I have one gmail, one yahoo and one corporate email.
When having my blackberry and the DHD side by side, the difference on receiving emails is enormous. It's taking more then two minutes to get it on my DHD. Blackberry is instant.
Battery drainage is also a problem since I have to keep fetching ans polling emails.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Any further insights?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yep, never set K9 to do any fetching or polling.
Only use push, this way the mail sever will push the mail to you as soon as it arrives. It will be instant and it also won't drain your battery.
Edit: in account preferences, set verification frequency to "never".
And enable push.
Anyone using yahoo?
Does it work with push?

The email side of things is making me want to go back to my iphone. Never had this kind of annoying, unreliable service with my 3gs iphone.
Installed stock froyo app as the htc mail app doesnt work with push hotmail, that is flaky at best, sometimes mail doesnt even arrive even tho it says theres mail there and doesnt work with html.
I think its awful that it cant even work with probably the biggest email domain on the net.
Hotmail is at best reciving junk mail, desire hd works pretty well for my gmail. Sorry the MSN lovers.

IMAP Not working

I am having random issues receiving / syncing emails using our corporate IMAP server (MailEnable).
I can usually get the device to receive one download of message headers and then no new emails will be downloaded. I am running the stock mail client that comes with the phone. Anyone else having any issues?
VM
It seems to be the stock mail client. I used maildroid and everything works fine.

I have two different IMAP accounts setup on mine and have no problems (MobileMe & T-Online).
Have you tried removing the account and setting it back up?
Can you use Exchange instead?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I am using the stock mail client for IMAP account since three months. Everything works like charm. Maybe deleting the accounts or wiping data will help. Check your settings if u r missing out on anything.
Never used maildroid.

It was working initially and then it became sporatic and then just stopped. This is on three phones. I removed the accounts, deleted them on the mail server and still no go.
Anyway MailDroid FREE works like a champ. I liked it so much that I purchased it and it works FAST. I also installed it on my EVO, it works so much better than the stock app feature and performance wize.

Exchange to battery consumer

Hello everyone,
I connect to gmail using Samsung Email client (using exchange, not imap or pop). While it's pushing email to me, it always give this message of connection error whenever I open Email. And when I checked what could be consuming my battery so fast, I found exchange being on top.
Anyone is experiencing this or have any idea?
Cheers

Do you know what version of Exchange Server you're connecting to? Older versions of Exchange had annoying issues with ActiveSync on the Galaxy Tabs, and I always had to delete and re-add the Device Administrators policy to get it to work...
It's google exchange server. I'm not sure what's the version. I never had this problem in my classic tab.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA App
Sorry about that. I forgot you were connecting to GMail.
What error are you getting when you try to sync?
Unable to connect gmail.

I am using the email client that came with the note, if you configure your email using imap, or lucky enough to have exchange then push will work, if you do pop3 then push won't work. I bought Kaiten which is the paid version of K9 pop3 is still timed and not pushed.

Yes the native client supports servers that will do push (ie exchange).
Incidentally the mail client "Touchdown" ****s all over the native client (yes is does cost approx $20, I reckon its worth it.)

Just install the official Microsoft: Hotmail + Seven from the Play Store, free and configure it to push.
I always thought Gmail was push
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
it is.
Push on the native email client works but has this flaw: it will disable push when it is unable to connect to server. You need to manually load the app again to re-enable push.
This disabling might happen when travelling in train when you loose network momentarily, or when leaving one WLAN and connecting with another after a few minutes.

Ah...i use to wonder why sometime push is working and sometime not...i thought somewhere related to data connection but couldn't get the exact pattern. Thanks, This will surely help.
Any idea why I'm not able to see embedded images on native email client with exchange setup? It's showing only as attached files and image itself on email has little blue question mark

Ok thanks guys. Can you post me the steps to set up and hotmail account with push? I remember that i had my hotmail with push on SGS somehow. I just can't find the tutorial anymore.
I think you need to set the hotmail server to m.hotmail.com to get push to work.
