Can someone provide the build number for the CM7 Nightlies #33?
Searched forums and CM site but cant find matching build numbers to nightlies.
Reason I ask is I keep trying to flash and it doesn't seem to take but can't verify. Though see some new "quirks".
Previously had #12 or 14 and Build number shows: GRH78C
BTW: tried to post this in the related dev thread but got booted cause not enuf clout yet (FIRST POST).. guess is good policy.
Thanks!
Unchanged build number. Kernel is 2.6.32.28-cyanogenmod-gd6ccb9a. Mod version, however, is CyanogenMod-7-02092011-NIGHTLY-glacier.

It's not that you are a first poster. It's that this question doesn't belong in in the Development section. Those are reserved for rooting procedures, ROMS, and Kernels.

Not only did I get my answer, but got answers to like 7 other questions I didn't even know i had
Testament to how vibrant the forums are here.. Thanks!
@option94 - Only mentioned "quirks" to allude to the fact that I thought I was flashed to new build (because the experience was slightly different), but couldn't confirm until now. If you're interested, really only one quirk.. video playback on gallery was jerky on this build where didn't seem to happen on earlier (sure will be resolved with future build)
Thanks again all!

It seems t13 kernel works well on JVT.
Does anybody konw whether Hardcore will release the new kernel for JVT?
Due to my level is not enough and I try to send a private message to hardcoe, Following is his reply. F.U.R
Hi, thanks.
The K13 should work find with JVT as there is probably no change in the kernel between JVS and JVT. So, you don't need to wait for a T14 with JVT modules to use it with JVT.
In the future if I release another update, I might also update the modules from JVT. But I don't think there will be much (or any) difference.

WTF? A whole new thread to ask something about another thread?
You shouldn't need permissions for anything but to post links. Try again, just click "Quote" on someone else's post in that thread.

If you have less than 10 posts you are not allowed to write in dev forums. So you can either start reasonable threads for example here or write 10 bulls**t posts to get permission.

Wasn't aware of that rule, I started on XDA posting on the general section so I guess I never experienced that problem when I started digging into dev threads.
Sorry, am i reading this right???? You HAVE a reply directly from hardcore regarding this question, and THEN you go and start a thread asking the same question?
Why?
Why? The answer is very simple: to make 10.000 useless posts....
ok so as the title states im a lil new to this so plz no one freak out on me for posting this.
what i need is a simple step by step on how to backup, flash, load ics (thor i think) on my a501.
any help would be great or if there is this thread already plz link me
or suggestions as to witch rom to load?
ask on his forum.maybe
my best guess would be to fallow the instructions given by the rom developer.
that rom is beta.and has issues.Again you are at the wrong forum to be asking about Non gpl complient software's.

OK, Thor's ICS rom, is on his personal website.
Due to XDA rules and policies, you will find no information on it here at XDA.
And why anybody would want to bring it up, is beyond my comprehension.
You can locate him at Tegraowners.com. And there, you can post all your issues related to his work.
If you wish to discuss his original CWM Recovery, that is ok.
This conversation should be closed. And no, people, you need not to add anything more, because most of you, don't know all the details.
Any further discussion on this topic, may result in the thread being closed.
if you read the question i asked how to root, flash not specific info on thor...
and as my first line i am new and not to get pissy.

Nobody is getting "pissy", and clearly, you are new, and didn't read the rules.
Considering how Thor, is the only one who has ICS running, and you mentioned it in your OP. That you are trying to get Thor's ICS running.,
Ok, considering you are running Thor's CWM, which I can support.
1. Boot to recovery (hope you know how to do this)
2. Wipe Data
3.Wipe Cache
4. Wipe dalvik
5, Install your rom.zip
Reboot.
If you have issues getting Thor's ICS flashed, you should contact Thor at tegraowners.com
XDA rules prohibit discussing or directly linking to any sites or developers, who use non-compliant code as in accordance with GPL licensing.
So, I am not being "pissy". You failed to understand or most probably, read the rules. I didn't make these rules. But we all have to follow them.
MD
Edit: as an additional note, because you are a 501 user, and I like 501's, I will say, the likely ICS build you want to flash, well, it doesn't support the 501. No camera, and no 3g internal. Ask me how I know. Or you can just flash it, and discover for yourself. But please, do not say, I am pissy, when you didn't understand the rules at xda.
thank you
and i followed with asking other suggestions. i didnt think just mentioning it would be bad as there are other threads that talk about his work

It's ok, and I take no offence.
Thor does great work, this I know.
But, at xda, they have rules, and I am sorry if you got caught in the middle of it, as with most new users.
Sometimes, I can be a little strict.
cool so what exactly did i say wrong? like i said befor i am not the first to talk about him on xda? or about that rom?
You didn't do anything wrong, discussing his work is not against the rules, linking to downloads is. It is just that discussing his work often leads to heated arguments here, so it is often avoided.
lol i didnt link anything........im confused... one guy says im breaking rules and wants to close this thead. you say i didnt?
i was under the impression that this site is here for people to ask questions. that is all i did

Exactly. Sorry if I sounded "pissy". Just tired of putting out fires
We know now, that you have no idea about the prior history.
Ok, no problem. You didn't know. My fault for being so rude, but you have to understand, when you mention Thor, or his code, some holy crusaders will come with crosses thumping. And believe me, they are much worse than me.
I won't tell the "real" story. Most people don't know. They only know a couple of things.
Rule number 1. Discussing Thor CWM version 3x is ok. It's GPL compliant.
Rule number 2. Do not post links to his site or code containing his kernel.
Rule number 3. Try not to discuss his Roms, or anything associated with them. He has his own website at tegraowners. And doing so, will bring the "crusaders", and cause another mess.
Like I said, long story
that is all good, but you guys need to remember that this site is open to anyone that wants to use it, and alot of people like myself have no idea what CWM version 3x is ok. It's GPL compliant or code containing his kernel. even means!!!
and that is why i came here to learn what i can do with my new toy.
i am respectfull of any requests made of me. but i believe in free speech and didnt really like when somone says-
"because most of you, don't know all the details" is not a good reason to not talk about something.
Well, I have tried to be as nice as can be.
Or we can make the mods step in and explain.
Here's the deal, and remember, I am putting this as nice as I can, so as to not step on toes. But, it seems a general explanation is not suffice. Or maybe you don't like russians.
Thor is a developer. A really good one. Because somebody used his code a year ago, and didn't give credit, a big scandal arose. Near before that time, Thor released the CWM recovery version 3x. What you find in Acer Recovery which you got from the market.
GPL licensing, as is recognized, states that all modifications to the "kernel", must be available to all, and that all said source code, must be released and open.
The original CWM Recovery is within this parameter.
Because of the scandal later, Thor decided to not release his source code for kernels. This created a conflict. Because of XDA rules on GPL compliance, Thor left, and created his own website.
Since then, XDA has a rule. You can not post links to any code containing Thor's Kernel. Nor should you discuss any issues concerning any of thor's code that contains his kernels. This includes 3.2, 3.2.1, and ICS roms.
Discussion of any of his products, eventually leads to some horrible posts. I am only trying to avoid this. Not to give you a hard time.
Fortunately, most of the mess has been cleaned up from the last escapade.
I'm really sorry if you felt I was being an ass. But now you know the story, and I hope you understand.
Free speech is ok, but here at XDA, there are some ... rules.
first i like Russians just fine. ( i just played against your paralympic sledge hockey team last week here in canada)
second that is fine with me, i completely understand if there was a conflict between a developer and xda.
i was never trying to fan the flames just trying to figure out what went wrong....
fyi- next time all you need to say is xda and thor dont see eye to eye, and i would have left it there.
thank you for the info.
any way back to the job at hand...

I appreciate that you and MD are trying to get your site off the ground, but why not share the information here and include the link to the OP. The picture guide is probably very useful to people and would benefit everyone to have it in both locations.
This looks like you are trying to poach people away. I know that may not be your intent, but the motives could appear suspect to some.
Also, there is a guide, without pictures, over in the developer section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012

Not our intent at all.
If you check the "time stamps" on both posts (the one I posted at ATG, as well as the one you posted) you'll see that the post at ATG (not the post I made here) was done hours before the post at XDA.
Having just been through the nightmare involved with having to revert from the ICS leak, finding my way back to a rooted ROM, and finding mostly hostile remarks directed at those that couldn't figure it out for themselves over in the DEV forum, we came up with a very clear, concise, and explicit TUT on how to get back to a rooted ROM, complete with ALL files needed to do so over at ATG.
As far as the "appearance of being suspect" goes, that's one of the reasons we started our own "community", and not just a mere forum.
While we literally just launched the site mere days ago, and don't have many members as of yet, those that have joined have already made remarks attesting to this fact. Most if not all of our members are members of several forums, some including XDA. No reason to "poach", as we're just giving people alternatives to finding information about things that we all share the same passion for..."All things Android Tablet Related".
Just wanted to clear up why, and when this post was made.
ty
Exactly, since we already have on XDA those informations http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012 , this thread is now closed.
I'm creating this thread for people to post about new Lollipop custom ROMs, updated custom ROMs, or, when it comes, stock Lollipop ROM zips.
This thread is not for discussions and news, so no moto chat posts, no online article posts, nothing like that. This thread is only for what I stated in the first paragraph. Saying the soak test started, or the update is coming next week or that you got the update etc is not for this thread. And please don't post that you can't wait, we already know that.
The point of this thread is so people don't need to search through 20 threads to find info on how to get Lollipop, either stock or custom ROMs.
Also, please don't tell people off for irrelevant posts, because that clutters the thread even more, leave that to me and the mods.

You can either use chainfire CF-Auto-Root for XT1032 however it states the Android version is 4.4.2 - if it doesn't work on 4.4.4 post your recovery.img on the main CF-Auto-Root XDA thread
http://download.chainfire.eu/597/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-falconumts-falconreteu-xt1032.zip
Or
You can try flashing the supersu beta zip in a custom recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
For either method you need an unlocked bootloader but the first one doesn't require a custom recovery as it's done via pc

Sorry for this off-topic first and foremost to everyone here.
For your information, the OP has no power/privileges to delete any posts of his thread. He can only edit the First post and his own posts. that's it. All other powers are in hands of Moderators.
Secondly, to the OP here. I dunno whether you are mentioning me twice and my thread to avoid the spammers on your thread OR to conclude my thread was inferior. Did you test it? Because it's not on any website I've ever heard about, I'll only put it in my post if someone has tested it.

I removed any mention of you and your thread as per your request.
And I definitely didn't mention your thread to say it's inferior, I was just worried that people would just think this thread is the same idea as yours, and I just started it because your one was closed, so I just wanted to say that it's a different thread for a different purpose.

OK, I'll edit my post

Hi,
Is anyone working or know of some project to get an AOSP rom on the edge+ ?
Or even better, a Cyanogen port. I might be interested in trying that for myself but I haven't worked on roms for years, and never actually developed for android so I figured I'd ask first

Actually, searching the help / q&a section first would have been a better idea. All of the following threads mention either aosp or Cyanogenmod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/cyanogenmod-t3293182
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/port-cm13-to-device-t3272925

Not to mention the following thread only a few down in the list from yours in the General section:

The first rule of xda is search before posting :good:
