I currently have a picture message in my inbox which says downloading even when I reboot but nothing is happening. Any ideas?
have you tried using the iPhone apns for it i have a hd2 and use em... worms a treat
and where do you find these?
ok after searching online I found a post with the settings for iphone android APN and the only difference I see is the username and password. Tried it and still don't work.
Have you managed to sort this yet, Im having the same issue, tried loads of apn settings to no avail
No still haven't got it working. I can use 3g fine just not MMS
There is a free program on the android market called APN Backup & Restore. It would be nice if someone with working O2 MMS settings could back up the APN settings and put the file on here.
Hey, in case you never got your MMS to work, I have just found these settings and they've worked for me, finally, after weeks of trawling :-

I'm on O2 simplicity and Mattc's 1.5 rom
I have just managed to get this working on my phone. I copied the settings from a colleague who just got a dell streak on o2. After completing the following steps everything started working shortly afterwards.
1. Delete all APNs
2. Enter the following 3 APNs.. (any fields not mentioned leave on the default/blank setting)
Name: mobile.o2.co.uk
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: o2web

opius,

Hmm yeah these settings seem to have stopped working on my phone now .
After first entering them all the failed messages I had queued up started going through. But I just tried sending another one and am getting "Generic network failure" again.
It seems to sometimes send them OK and other times keep failing.
I just tried copying the settings over from my colleagues Dell Streak using APN Backup & Restore. Still not working properly. Those settings are working fine on the streak. I wonder if the problem could be somewhere else..
I am starting to wonder if this could be an issue with the o2 network itself?
Last night at around midnight I was able to send/receive a MMS with no problems both went through very quickly. This morning I try again and I jsut get "Generic Network Failure"
Guess I need to try on a WM build to verify whether is is o2 or an android issue.
I switched back to WM for a bit. Just tried it as you put the post and my MMS in WM works fine.
If anyone stumbles across this post looking for Dell Streak APN settings on O2 just text ...

I used these settings and did not work for me until I changed APN type to "not set" and now works just fine.

I tried this and did not recive anything. Also read on O2 forum that carrier does not support Nexus One, so they cant send you mms settings.
EDIT:
I removed two apn settings and left O2 UK (mobile data) and O2 UK MMS (wap.o2.co.uk), dont know if anything is related to this but give it a try
Anyone able to help with this one? MMS not working since I flashed to 2.2.1. All APN settings default from sim card though.....
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Fixed this by selecting UK CSC setting for UK (XEU) as I had flashed with a multu CSC firmware. Lost all my old SMS though!

the main bug i have with android and o2 is that the apn setup loads too many apns by default. Its made more confusing because o2 is one of those networks that needs different settings for data and mms. some use combined servers and such.
When i flash android i get the following apns configured
giffgaff
o2 uk
o2 uk
o2 uk postpay mms
o2 uk prepay mms
tesco
giffgaff *
o2 mms postpay *
o2 mms prepay *
o2 uk mms *
the * ones are mms only apns, so dont have a radio toggle button on the right hand side.
The problem i think is that some accounts are set for data and mms, and others just for data, and some for just mms so i suspect they interfere. (my guess is the two 'o2 uk postpay mms' & 'o2 uk prepay mms' ones, because they are set to be used for data and mms, and ive tested them and they dont work... or the contract one doesnt anyway)
Im on O2 contract, and what i do is delete all apns except
the first 'O2 UK' (with the radio button, and username o2web)
and
'o2 MMS postpay' (without the radio button)
delete everything else, then reboot. mms settings sometimes dont seem to change till reboot, but data apn settings changes do seem to take immediately.
settings for 'o2 uk'
Name 'O2 UK' (anything)
APN 'mobile.o2.co.uk'
Proxy 'not set'
Port 'not set'
Username 'O2Web'
Password 'password'
Server 'not set'
MMSC 'not set'
MMS Proxy 'not set'
MMS Port 'not set'
MMC '234'
MNC '10'
Authentication 'not set'
APN Type 'default,supl'
then, a second APN, to handle the mms
Name 'O2 mms postpay' (anything)
APN 'wap.o2.co.uk'
Proxy 'not set'
Port 'not set'
Username 'O2wap'
Password 'password'
Server 'not set'
MMSC 'http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002'
MMS Proxy '193.113.200.195'
MMS Port '8080'

MNC '10'
Authentication 'not set'
APN Type 'mms'

Not sure about what is what
I am using an unlocked Aria on AT&T and would like to know which specific fields should contain what for the T-Mobile APN etc.
When I go to: menu > settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. I then create a new APN Which has some required fields. Some of the ones you mention above are obvious while others are not. Can someone help fill in the blanks?

After setting this are there any other settings that should be changed to get on a T-Mobile network?
Will I be able to switch to the different APN profiles for sdifferent SIM cards with out a problem or will I have to reenter this data?
Thanks!

I have found about 20 different posts that all list different APN settings for T-Mobile US. Does anyone know what they should be for sure? Please only post if you are able to SEND MMS. I seem to be able to receive MMS, but can never send MMS. I have gotten it to work a couple times on some builds but the same settings don't seem to work on other builds.
Posting the settings is great but if you have a backup file from "APN Backup and Restore" that would be even more convenient.
Thanks
I fought with this same problem for a while, trying every setting i found in all the threads. One way i finally found that allowed me to send and recieve was to make 2 APN's, one with the standard epc.tmobile.com and nothing else, and another named t-mobile mms with the following settings:
APN: T-Mobile MMS
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username :none
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms.wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050

I got the idea for using multiple APN's when i looked at my girlfriend's my touch slide's settings. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. I read once that there are different settings for PPP and RMNET. I wonder if that's why I was able to get it to work on some builds and not others.

Thanks for these settings that u shared. This was the only APN that worked for my friend to get mms on tmobile prepaid with an AT&T Xperia Play 4g. They only get 2g/Edge, but I feel they even got an increase in speed from the "telekila"APN that was on the phone even if its small increase within 2g. Thanks everyone.
What are the correct apn settings for T-Mobile prepaid? Speedtest.net is reporting my location WAY off and pings are through the roof even though data speeds are just fine.
i just unlocked my at&t aria and want to use on t-mobile. i can make calls and send regular texts but cant send picture messaging nor get the internet working. i can use wifi and thats it. any help is much appreciated thanks
