Hi All,
Sorry if this has been asked before, did a few searches but no luck.
I am running Oxygen 1.0.3 Froyo - Great Rom. I would like to have the basic music controls on my lock screen that are similar to the ones I used to have on OpenDesire ROM.
Could you please help me with this or point me in the right direction.

Haven't got a custom ROM myself but from what iv'e read controls should show up on lock screen as yours aren't try this before we go into apps
Pressing the play button on the headphones will start the music player and play your last song. Then once the last song you listened to begins playing you can access the music player controls on the lock screen in the usual way.

I am currently using this with Widget Locker, not sure if it will work with your Rom though.

the controls work fine, did not have any problems so far (I am on stock froyo, not rooted, using HTC music app). disappears from the lockscreen when you stop playing a title, appears when you touch the certain area on the screen (if you select the disappear option, otherwise of course its there all the time). also got nice skins as minimalistic, HTC style and so on (I am using the minimalistic skin, white controls, transparent background).
I was going to say the same thing. Though, I've noticed weird glitches if I used a widget on a homescreen and on the lock screen. Works perfect as a disappearing widget for WidgetLocker only, and looks really nice for a homescreen widget if you just want one or the other.

Is there any possibility to make this happen? i don't like the stock pattern-unlocker.

Nah, that's too much iPhoney
Ah great, Lockbot Pro does the job perfectly!
I use widget locker - not only does it have android/sense style lock it also lets you add widgets to the lockscreen

This is nice. Thank you for the info.
Tried the free version. It is thousand times better than the stock in SGS. Looks right, feel right, sounds right!
Edit: noticed that a soft reset disable it and I need to rerun lock 2.0. Is this the same for the paid version?
how hard would it be to make a update.zip to change the lock screen? and would it be possible to make an eclair like lockscreen with the touchwiz 3 music widget?
THAT be awsome

Thanks for this, loving my new widget locker.
It seems that Lock 2.0 is sometimes "killed" by the OS, and that means the lock that screen reverts back to stock. Is there a way to prevent that from being undone?
Sorry for just pushing this up, but im still looking for the stock lockscreen, maybe someone has found a way to use it already
Hi,
I've been with WinMo since 2001 until about a week ago when I switched to andriod. I have many questions and was unsure where to turn to. I will try here. If there is a better place, please let me know.
I have a Desire Z that I got with ATT 3G bands. I have successfully rooted the device, overclocked it, and installed Cyanogen 6.
1) When I hit the power button, I still have to swipe my finger across the screen to unlock. How do I make it so I don't have to do this?
2) I had some difficulty upgrading to Cyanogen 6 and was unable to get 7 to work. IfI want to mess around further with roms, is there some way I can backup EVERYTHING so if I screw up, I can make my phone exactly the way I have it now without a whole lot of work re-installing stuff, etc.?
3) The link to the phone, app, and browser are all stuck on the bottom of the phone. Can I get rid of this?
4) When laying apps out on the home screen, there seems to be some kind of grid that they are locked into that makes it hard to move them exactly where I want them. It will let me lay them so they overlap each other, but not very close to each other. Is there some way to overcome this?
5) I can't seem to arrange apps close to the top of the screen because the garbage can overlay slides down and when I move the app near the top it thinks I am trying to throw it away.
6) Is there an app that will show both the current weather and an icon for the weather conditions in the status bar?
Wow, a lot of questions...
1, Go to Settings->CyanogenMod Settings->Input Settings and select Trackball wake/Trackball Unlock or Menu Unlock and after that you will be able to select Disable Unlock Slider
2, Try Titanium Backup (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup)
3, As far as I know CM6 uses ADW.Launcher as default launcher. You can change it to LauncherPro (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fede.launcher) which is fully customisable
4, There is a grid which can't be changed
5, LauncherPro has the trash icon at the bottom
6, Sorry, I didn't find any

Hello Everyone.
I went and found some of these answers on my own. I also was able to upgrade to CM7.
1) I found an app for it but will try PsHeger's solution.
2) I found that the bootloader/Rom manager do a good job of this, too.
3) I was able to remove it in the app launcher rather than using pro.
4) This absolutely pisses me off. I have a Winmo 6.5 phone that lets me have a nice, organized home screen. I can't believe there isn't a better solution to this. Good lord.
6) Go Weather App does this.
if you set your grid settings to 10x10 rows and columns in launcher pro, you can put the icons and widgets pretty much anywhere.

You can try this, but you will need to buy a pro key for laincherpro to strech the widgets or they will look really stuid

I found that the auto stretch check box pretty much solved the problem with layout.

Hey guys I wanted to make this post in the forum for his rom but I'm so new it won't let me so I thought I'd do it here. I have just today rooted my HTC Hero GSM phone and installed the new v3.1 rom from elelinux. Everything works fine but I'm just missing 2 widgets.
When I was running v2.1-update1 i had it so that one of the home screens had a full screen bookmark widget and another one had a full screen (well I mean so big you couldn't actually place another shortcut or anything on that screen) widget for my text messages. I know that the rom has both txt message app and a bookmarks section in the browser but before I could put both of these on the home screens and when I go to widgets from the home screen those two are missing from the list.
Can anyone help me out how to find it if I am missing it, or can you point me in the right direction?
I think those are sense widgets you refer to. Won't get these on aosp but there are similar alternatives on the market
I have the same issue... and I don't think it's related to Sense apps. I have tried to download, for example, "Laik Agenda widget", that works perfectly in other non-sense android phones, does not appear in the list.
I have also tried with 4 or 5 different calendar widgets, and no luck.

I had a same problem. Are you using elelinux ROM like OP?If you do, then go to settings>applications>manage apps>choose widget that you want and tap on it> then tap move to phone and thats it.That was the problem when I couldnt see some widgets, downloaded from market, in the list.
Hi, I'm tired of lockscreen ring in sense 3 or above. Always unlock my screen while try to pull up my phone from my pocket, so I prefer the old locksreen of sense 2.x
I know that it's dificult to choose many 2.x sense roms, sprecially if you prefer the other advantages of gingerbread roms, main screen launcher for example.
As I saw in that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171674, I'll like to find any trick to install 2.x lockscreen in any sense 3.x rom
Of course, I tried to rename htc.lockscreen and use original lockscreen from Android, but I don't like it, I prefer sense 2.x lockscreen.
I will apreciate any suggestion.
Try to find an app called "WidgetLocker Lockscreen" that allows you to make/choose your own lockscreen! I think i helped!

Many thanks for your reply, but is not a problem to lock the screen, the problem is "unlock" the screen.
Sense 3.x ring lockscreen is so easy to accidentally unlock itself, inside my pocket, and then, random app could be launched. It's very very annoying for me.
Sense 2.x lockscreen is much difficult to auto unlock inside my pocket.
I don't understand why not many other people have the same problem.

Lock/Unlock screen are the same thing, just said differently. The app he mentioned should be what you are looking for as long as it replaces the HTC lockscreen with one of your choosing

Nah the app he recommended is correct, WidgetLocker has every type of lock screen you could want, but unfortunately you will have to pay for it (or will you? ) and this includes Sense 2.1 lock screen and sliders, ICS, rotary wheels etc. You can also add widgets to the lock screen (hence the name) which will give you the ability to have a music widget and weather widget etc. on your lock screen.
Also, try not to leave your phone in your trouser pockets and instead use your jacket pocket or something similar, where the phone won't unlock itself (e.g. when you're sitting down) and maybe set up a pin/password.

Hi, my HD2 was unable to download these app from market. I don't know the reason. I had to download from my Desire HD and test it directly on it. I have Sense 3.0 rom. It works fine, it can use htc.lockscreen 2.x style instead of original sense 3.0
Thank you for your help. Finally, I can use my pocket to keep the phone locked using sense 3.x rom.
Hi guys.
My Nexus 4 is arriving and I'm for sure not gonna run stock. I've been doing some research but yet decided which custom ROMs to try (too many).
I'd like a ROM with these features:
- quick settings mod
- advanced power menu
- volume rocker wake
- safe headset volume
- expandable/expanded volume panel
- expanded desktop
- t9 dialer
I've found only Xylon that has all those features. Which other ROMs have you guys tried that also have those all (or one or two less, if so please specify)?
Thanks a lot in advance

cm10.1.... all
I think ParanoidAndroid has all those
What is expanded desktop exactly? Like a larger grid size? I think just about any custom rom has these. I like CM personally with Banks' gapps.

It hides the navigation bar and comes in handy when we play games, they run in complete fullscreen. I don't wanna mispress those navbar button while play games such as fruit ninja
Edit: a video to demonstrate. Things get started at around 1:30
I have one more question: can we have access to clock app (or any user-defined app) when pressing the clock above the notification/quicksettings in PA? And quick reply?
I'm on AOKP. It has all those options except expanded desktop. You can hide nav. buttons though.

It goes into date settings which is pretty stupid. I didn't even know you can tap it. I'm gonna change it to the real clock thanks for the idea. And yes it has quick reply.

Ahhh I see now. Never tried it, seems like it would be a hassle to toggle it off/on for everyday use. Maybe it's just the way someone uses their device.
