[Q] SetCPU Wont go past 528 : HTC Wildfire

I installed the Wildpuzzle v8 ... and then i installed SetCPU from this forum ... and i am not able to set the max past 528mhz ... i thought it must be something wrong with the custom rom .. ive even tried cynogenmod bt no luck there either ...
I believe its something to do with installing a custom kernel ... but i have no clue how to work with that ... If any one can please help me with that ... I am new to the android world ... and i want to overclock my wildfire ...
Thanks in advance ... tc
If you are using WildPuzzle, flash the overclockable kernel. (The file name starts with 0130 under kernels).
Once you flash it, OC'ing is enabled, and you will be able to OC till 768 Mhz.
Flashing a kernel is the same as flashing a Custom ROM. Reboot into Recovery > Install Zip from SDC, Select the Kernel ZIP. Remember to take a nandroid backup beforehand though.
Good Luck
Install the Jacob's kernal.
Just flash it like ROM thru the recovery without flashing. I recommend a nandroid backup first in case something goes wrong.
Dont forget to hit the thanks button if it was helpful to you.

Don't flash that package, it's just a speed setting. First, you need to flash this
http://rom.tat.tw/wildfire/wildpuzzlerom/2.2/patches/0130_kernel_overclock_jacob_2.6.32_v1.zip
(3rd kernel of KERNELS title in Wildpuzzle 0.8 post)

Flash it over the ROM, without wiping or reflashing the rom. Just flash it without doing nothing before or afterm and reboot.

This one:
0130_kernel_overclock_jacob_2.6.32_v1.zip
0159 will also do (You will STILL need to flash 0130 before that). It will preset the CPU Speed to 691. Personally, I prefer flashing the OC'ed kernel, and, setting my own speeds and profiles through SetCPU. But, it is upto you.
Flashing a faster predefined speed than the default 528mhz, I prefer 652mhz file, helps with the booting process complete smoother.. less waiting time to load up desktop. That's what I find anyway... used to wait ages until setcpu kicks in.

if you use the 130 kernel with wildpuzzle, the wifi hotspot won't work, it will be visible but won't connect, if you flash 055 overclocking kernel from wildpuzzle 8.0.11 thread then wifi hotspot is all good
strongly reccomend HCDR Jacobs Kernel v4.1 its the bees knees haha
flash taht and your good to go
high - 691200
low - 25800

One more thing .. as i was told flashing the 0130 kernel would help me in setting up a predifine values through setCPU... after flashing the 0130 .. i still cudnt set my speed more than 528 ... then i flashd the predifnd 691mhz kernel ... nw atleast the setcpu widget shows my max 691 nd min 254 .... :/

130 works fine, and if anything got a slightly higher linpack score than 055 as i tested both, it just wouldn't work with wifi hotspot.
i have only ever used set cpu.
to flash 055 i restored nandroid backup i did before overclocking with 130 and then flashed 055.
Flashing CM7 nightly #19 would resolve issues. Also i didn't heard anyone complaining about this on CM7 thread. Please be sure to follow exactly the steps for installing CM7 including wipe and format /system.
CM7 #19 is OC'able by defaul, u only have to install SETcpu.
#19 is pretty stable.

[Q] Overclooking

Hello, I have rooted my phone with Z4root and I want to know if there are apps for overclook my phone ( only aplications, no manipulation with a computer) ( I already try SetCPU without success). If it is not possible, I would turn to the kyrillo's rom. Is it available in french and can put the original rom if we have a problem?

For overclocking, you need a Overclockable kernel...use Fugumod by marcellusbe...
And yeah, you can flash back to original if you have a problem...

My g3 is under 2.1 not 2.2.

You cannot overclock with apps cause app have no permision to tweak kernel, you have to flash new oc enabled kernel + froyo rom to overclock

you should have done a reset mate thats why you got bootloop. thats the only bad thing when flashing the stock you need to fulll wipe before
how about if i restore stock kernel then i reinstall gdx rom+fullwipe but its still get bootloop.
have you try this before??

Invalid or Deleted File.
The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

i cant understand, i rebooted to CWN then full wipe then power off then flashed stock kernel and still got bootloop:S
it also depends on ur rom. if u are still using a rom that require custom kernel after u flash stock kernel, it will bootloop.
for example, u are using mini cm by nAa with custom kernel, then u flash stock kernel while still using minicm by nAa, so u will enter bootloop.
what i usually do, while still in nAa minicm (example) n using custom kernel, i usually flash another rom that use stock kernel for example ( gingerxperia v18),then i turn off the phone, flash stock kernel, then im done

from cm9 to cm7.2 rc2

What is the best way and how to go back from cm9 to cm7 on my defy red lens ?
I think I still have the nandroid BU on my card. Or flash cm7 over CM9 ?
I have no idea what to do .
If you are on froyo kernel, just restore the nand.
Otherwise, first flash the froyo kernel.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
I did the official upgrade from eclair so i think I'm on the froyo kernel ?
Did you flash a kernel zip? If not then yes.
You can always try and if it didn't work, flash any froyo ROM and restore the nand from there.

Hi - thanks for the interesting post.
- why did you choose to go back from cm9 to cm7 ?
On another note:
- in what cases does the kernel get upgraded? when going from 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3?
- does the cm7.1 to 7.2 upgrade also change the kernel?
Thanks!
there were too many bugs in the CM9 . Now I installed the MIUI rom and this is the best I used until now ! Fast, nice and no bugs ! Everything works fine!
For the kernel until now I didn't change or upgrade any kernel .
