data files from apps usually save on the internal memory. a great thing about cyanogenmod 7 on the tab was that it used the external memory as the default memory, that way things dont get deleted easily when moving from firmware to firmware. anyway to make this possible?

What is the internal storage used for? seems apps are entirely installed on the SDcard by default which loads up my 2gb card. I know the system files are on the internal but other than that it has 6.5gb of free space.
I guess my question is, is there any way to split application files so that only my data for the applications are on the SD and the program files are on the internal?
My apps are installed to my internal memory. Also I have my pictures set to be saved to internal. There is also an option in the browser to store downloaded files onto internal memory. I'm running stock 2.1.

i have a rooted lg optimus e400. the device has memory problem because the built in memory is separated into 2, system storage and internal storage. all downloaded apps is stored automatically on the system memory which is too low. i tried flashing a custom rom which merges system memory and internal memory, but the rom keeps on freezing and i decided to flash the stock rom. is there any way to use the stock rom and just set the sd card as default storage for downloaded apps? or maybe merge system memory with internal memory. or anyway to expand memory using whatever method? and if there is a way. could you give detailed instruction and links for the fix coz i'm kinda new at this. thanks
I am trying to switch the Default storage from the main memory to an sd card. Not just for downloading stuff but to the point where all apps and data run off the sd card. 8GB of default memory just isnt enough so if any help could be rendered i thank you.
Changing default storage for storing apps and files is not an implemented feature to Samsung devices. But you can still move the apps and files to your SD card manually.
(And if there is a Samsung device that can change default storage, then it's a lucky device.)
is it possible to unite the internal memory and the SD card?
From what I've read, if you're on Nougat, getting adaptable storage is almost impossible if you're on stock. Marshmallow and Oreo is apparently easier. Just remember, the external SD card is much slower than your internal memory, so you might actually experience slow downs depending on if/when your apps start installing themselves on the SD card instead of your internal memory.
Here is some info I've scraped on the web:
https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-format-microsd-cards-as-internal-storage
https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-adoptable-storage-for-galaxy-s7-and-s7-edge/
Just know that once that happens, you cannot turn off adaptable storage without wiping your storage, so if you ever decide to go back to keeping them separate, then you'll need to ensure you backup any important data (photos, music, app settings that do NOT backup to Google Play) before you stop using adaptable storage.
Hello....
Is there any was to Format an sd Card as internal storage ?
I have tried to root the device.
I installed a custom Rom, where the Feature works, but i still want to Uwe OneUi
Soo does anybody knows how to Set this feature Up ?
My device ist rooted and have Android 13 official installed
You really don't want to use it for internal storage as that pathway doesn't have enough bandwidth or speed. Use as a data drive only; all critical data goes here. Only apps, the DCIM and download folders should be on internal storage.
If you're running low on storage take out the trash. Ditch any social media apps, they shouldn't be loaded anyway.
I would have a minimum of 10% headroom for the OS drive... more is better.
