Volume on notifications - Wildfire General

Hiya..
Is there a way to make the volume louder on the wildfire as i find on full volume that the sms sound isn't loud enough..
also how to i get custom sounds to be used as ringtone and notification..
cheers
Mike

This is one issue I faced on the Stock ROM as well. Notification Volume was too low, and, barely audible. However, after switching to CM7, there has been a difference of night and day. It is now extremely loud, and, almost as loud as my old Nokia's.
Anyhow, to get your custom notification sounds, place them on the SD Card under Media > Audio > Notifications (Create the folder if not there)

Cheers for that. I'll be changing to a custom Rom once froyo can be rooted.

Is there an app that can increase the volume of the ring tones? Thanks
Others are reporting issues with the volume, and personally, I am a little disappointed with the volume of the phone in general (Ring Tomes, Notification Tones and Alarm Volumes).
The only way I know to increase the volume is if you have your phone rooted, as I have done with the G1 and MyTouch, however, I am not sure about the Nexus One (I would imagine it would be the same since it is 2.1).

Thanks..Talderon. Yes, notification is terrible with this phone at any level. My phone is rooted and Running Modaco Desire A9...Anyone...Anyone???
I have noticed a very welcome increase in ringtone, notification, et al volume with the Desire ROMs. Hopefully this also means an increase in volume with the next OTA update for the N1.

One the thing the Modaco Desire Rom did was fix the speaker phone. The Speaker phone on the N1 one was TERRIBLE. I was sure it was HTC hardware. What a pleasant surprise. Google conveniently left the N1 "Making of the N1" speakerphone edition out. I will post it later. YOu may be familiar with the characters in it. There all from Charlie Brown.
So is it a hardware problem or not? Since the Desire ROM is able to increase the speaker volume so the N1 loudspeaker volume is more or less a software problem?

I am willing to go out on the limb, and say it is 100% software. The speaker quality and volume is so much better on the Desire ROMs. I would assume or like to think that google will include these new audio files in the next update, or at least something close.

[Q] (Q) Volume level problem when battery is low

I have a problem with the volume level on the device. On several occasions the volume drops to a very low level. This happens to all the sounds on the device like ringtone, music, reminders, etc. The level indicator on device is at top level, yet the sound is barely noticable. Seems like this occurs when battery is low. Only way to fix this is to restart the DHD. Anyone else have this problem? Have i missed a setting in the energy saving options at low battery level that can solve the problem? Is there a fix i missed? Already done the two OTA updates. This does not solve the problem.
Don't know if it's just when battery level is low but i experience that volumes over all are very low on this phone, both through headphones and rear speaker, have missed a bunch of calls because of this.
Hope there is something that can be fixed about it.
yes have had this problem, although I don't think I had low battery at the time.
a restart did fix the problem and afaik the problem hasn't come back since (and hopefully never will!)
What i dont get is why HTC left the volume so low when one of the main features in their video was that if the phone is tucked away it will ring louder and such but that wont help when the ringer max level is too low. Even my wildfire has more acceptable ringer volume...

absolutely agree. Even at full volume, the phone is not audible when stored in pocket, jacket or similar. pretty large fail from HTC if you ask me. The feauture would work if it would increase the max volume BEYOND the usual max volume we can set in the system, but alas, no cookie
PS in combination with "battery low"; check whether the energy saving features are enabled. You can configure a hell of a lot in these energy saving settings and it might be the case here also
Maybe the "quiet ring on pickup" option clashes with the "pocket mode" - if its in your pocket, but you're moving around, the "quiet ring" might override the pocket mode louder ring?
Haven't had a chance to test this though
Its not the quiet ring feature since it actually does ring, just not loud enough.

Instead of making it louder, why not just try putting it on vibrate...? Just sayin.

i have it on ringer and vibrate and the vibrate is not the best that i have seen either. this is the only problem with this phone that i have other wise i lone it
has anyone found a way yet to mke the rear speaker louder when on speaker phone?
ring + vibrate + high pitch tone
thatll help you out the best. I got that power rangers Beep communicator thing because that worked the best even when I was driving the forklift I could hear it.
Honestly you dont wanna go to loud, you may blow your speaker >< then that would really suck
Use the 'Noisy One' ringer to make sure you always hear it - that's the only ringer I can hear every time.
As for speakerphone, you've touched on my only complaint with the G2 - the speakerphone isn't very good and requires holding it to your ear (which defeats the point, eh?)
You can try Old Phone Ringtones (from the Market). Some of those ringtones are really loud.
Hey guys I realize you are trying to be helpful but telling someone to "put it on vibrate" and "download louder ringtones" is not very helpful (The Vibrate sux on the G2 I usually hear it vibrating instead of feeling it ). I too am looking for a way to boost the speaker sound like I did with my G1 using "Louder Volume Hack". I have Loud ringers but that does not help with custom ringtones or with the reason I went with Android, To make it function the way I want it to, I am sure most of you also feel this way.
Also of Note: I can get the Speaker to the desired Volume using an Poweramp equalizer to boost the volume of music, considering all the apps out there I am surprised that no-one has created a hack to do this on the newer phones.

[Q] How to increase notification sounds?

My g2 has very low notification volume (its maxed under settings, but when the phone is in my pocket, I can never hear it). It's a problem because with the phone's weak vibration and lack of volume, I keep missing notifications. Is there any way I can increase the sound using a program or something?
Thanks.

CM rom has DPS manager it increase your speaker volume
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yesterday someone mentioned an app called "volume boost" if not using CM. Worth a try if it's free eh.
I'm currently using Virtuous ROM and I would like to stick to that since I like Sense UI (so CM is not an option )
Volume boost appears to be for headphones, and not the phone speakers.
Any ideas?

Ringtone too quiet

Has anyone else noticed that the rington on wildfire is really quiet, its the 2nd htc phone ive had and there both pretty quiet, is there any fix, work around, to make the ringtone volume super loud, im fed up of missing calls and texts, and ive tried using different ringtones, mp3's etc nothings good enough
Same, which is why I have given up trying and try to keep my mobile near about me always. DSP (On CM7) works somewhat, still nowhere close to my previous device (Which, unfortunately was a Nokia XpressMusic = Super loud Speaker)
well I don't have any problems with loudness of my wildfire. I don't know about custom roms but stock rom had this feature when you pick your phone up when it is ringing it gets quite. Try turning off that. As it moves in your pocket, it may respond as if it is picked up. Just a thought.
I think you can turn it off in sound settings .
