[Q] new to this forum

Hi Guys,
I'm new to xda and wanted to know if there is any help thread on how to use the site (yes m a complete noob )
Also there is another thing... I've jus got my samsung galaxy 3 i5801
I surfed some of the threads and found out there are many things that can b done with it...
please help me learn what all these mean
1. flashing
2. Types of rom
3. lag fix (should i do it...even if my phone doesn't lag...mayb for future)
4. gps fix
Also wanted it to know which is the best app to use for saving battery currently using setCPU
and app for moving to sdcard currently m using movetoSD for it....

With stock eclair you cna not move apps to SD card.
You must flash with froyo 2.2, i advice a stock rom for start, JPN version, i advice.
You have many sticky threads that will answear all you questions, just read em mate.

Well flashing a custom rom means to put another rom in your phone which is better and faster than the original stock 2.1 or 2.2 roms!! many bugs are removed in the custom roms!!

How to make and port a theme....!![Easiest way]

hi,
i was try to make and port themes for our g3....im unable get it understand...im a fast leaner...pls help me how to theme....i tried rudolf895 theme port...but still a little bit confusing....there are many like me who are stucking at theme porting...........
make the easiest way to port the themes.....!!

That theme guide is made by barqers and he knows what he is doing so that guide should be right!!

For every theme and app sec contains "how to port themes" even there is for noobs also....!!
But for our Galaxy 3 itz not there....!!

im saying the only theme porting guide for SG3 is this one....

i recently bought a samsung apollo i5800, after that update its rom to 2.2 via kies, then root it with superone click v2.11, now i want to install custom rom and lots of things which i dont know also , or what i can do with this pls give me some links from where i can get help to do a lot of things with device although its not a good device as i read from its users comments.
help me guys pls

Hey come on, dont go by what others say, its a good device. Just look at the support it gets here in xda.

it is a good device...
just follow the roll-up thread any doubts just PM any1 here!

ya i know buddy its based on stock rom only and no other changes have been done in that....same as like stock.....we need roms like jellyblast,evo..thanks for the reply.

its the least you can do to your Phone.. be patient i know when everybody get CM7 or done in GPU or galaxy y or maybe some great and good developer will port our CUSTOM ROMS to your device.. just wait.. there are threads like this before..

even you can try porting some roms....
Xda has many tutorial...
and dnt worry devs will try to help u

Does evo-x 3 rom hai bugs ....

No bugs i hav encountered since i hav been using it for 2 weeks. Pretty nice rom really wif the cm9 status bar.

just some COLOR FONT bug i've encountered but overall IT"S AWWEESSOOMMEEE !! \

Only problems I've encountered so far are (a) a slight one of black text on a grey background in some places, already noted by others, and (b) either missing or very well hidden settings for text-to-speech, so there's no way I could find of changing from the default tts engine.
Apart from that it seems a very nice slim rom, and noticeably lower power consumption than the rom I was using before (with the same kernel for both).

is there any way possible to make evo-x 2.1 for galaxy y s6102 to fully support arabic language like (sms,whatapp,twitter,etc...)

Probably baseband - read what baseband it is for and flash that stock rom first
you may need to wipe data & cache & fix permissions after flashing it - read the instructions and others people's posts in the thread and you will work it out
