Headphones In-Line Mic - Droid X General

Alright guys so i search and this doesn't seem to have been addressed.
I own a pair of diddybeats solos, iFrogz Ozones, skullcandy ink'd headphones. All of which have a built-in mic and the Solos and the iFrogz have button(s).
No mics work, and the button on the iFrogz opens and closes the music app. The diddybeats solo's volume buttons play/pause the music. The center button does nothing (thats the button thats should play/pause).
Is there a fix? Or is there a reason why they don't work? ill take any answer to any of these two questions.
thanks!

Are you rooted and running a custom ROM?
blasted from my X courtesy of Liberty 1.5 and the XDA app

i have a set of kicker cx-200s and they function perfectly. the mic sounds great (says people i talk to) and the button launches the music player/play/pause
i haven't had the phone ring with them in so i don't know if the button will answer/hang up calls

I am but before I did that they still did not work. I fear that there is no solution. I'm More concerned about my Diddybeats working than anything else. Doesn't seem like Monster (manufacture) is doing anything about it.

[Q] How can I disable the wired headset button for music?

I ride a Kawasaki Ninja, and it's become increasingly difficult to be able to have one ear listening to music lately (using my Vibrant as my MP3 player).
The issue:
While riding at speeds greater than 15-20mph, the button on my wired headset is activated by the wind constantly (both the stock wired headset that came with it, and my new Skull Candy ones). This causes my music to "sputter" the whole time I'm moving. I thought maybe it was just the stock headset, so I went and got a really nice set....and...same problem. Apparently, it has to do with the wind blowing into that mic/button area, and activating the button. Both headests normally work just fine, but that wind is causing an issue when riding...
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a way to disable the headset pickup/hangup/play/pause button. At the very least, just the play/pause part of it, but I haven't found any solution yet.
My music randomly pauses for no reason... I think the button is just broken.
I too would like to disable the button.
Bump
Ideas? Anyone? Getting desperate...
Try a diffrent music player, also dig aroung the settings in the app
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
There's an app called poweramp and it has an option to disable the button (I think) the app can be found in the Vibrant themes n apps thread

Put duct tape over that part of the headset?
Use earphones with no button? Like the ipod ones?
Looking for an actual fix...
Reasoning:
1) Using a headset without a button:
I don't want to have to carry around 2 headsets (one for music, one for phone)2) Using a different app:
I want to be able to use things like Pandora Radio, which only really plays out of one player.3) Duct tape:
I could just as easily pour super-glue into the button cavity...oh, wait...no

Headphone buttons?

I am using my HTC HD2 headphones with my Atrix and when I attempt to change the song thats playing it just brings up vlingo or voice command choices...how do I set it up to use the music buttons?
And I was also wondering if yall might know of bluetooth stereo headphones that also come with music buttons?
Thanks guys!
Anybody?
Or am I not seeing another thread that already has this answer? lol

There's a huge headphone thread here. They don't specifically talk about HD2 headphones (that I remember), but you could ask.
I'm curious, too, as I would like to use iPhone-style headphones with some volume control buttons etc.

Earphone inline remote?

Does an inline remote that will work on the Defy exist for music playback ( play/pause, Volume up/Down, Skip forward/Back )?
Ill interested in that too. Thats only of a few things that i miss from my iphone 4

I've searched Motorola's site(s) and there's no mentions of such a thing (headphones with more than one button). You might achieve something similar with PowerAmp and multiple button presses.

PowerAmp is the only way im afraid, by default the defy opens some voice search menu when using in line controls, and power amp is the only music player with those options.
Try this app: Headset Controller.
It configures your clicks on the remote button. So that you can play/skip/go back/increase volume even if you have only one button on your headset remote.

Not true. Winamp does that too, and MortPlayer, which i use for Audio books, has an option to respond to headset button(s). And there are probably other apps, so there is no problem at all.

If i want to sync my itune library to Defy and use earphone with control buttons like my ipod. What sofware actually should I get (to receive my itune lib and can play with earphone's control buttons)
Thank you!!!
4 line in Defy earphone:
L,R,MIC,GND
L,R means left and right side output of earphone.
MIC means mic signal input to defy.
funtion key on earphone usually use MIC signal.
Connect mic signal into an ADC,mic signal has a pull-up resistance,about 2.2K.
Different key use different pulldown resistance with different value.
So that the onchip ADC can measure different voltage.
Then the system knows which key is pressed.
I think the key point of this function is whether Moto Hardware engineer connect the mic signal to ADC.
Sorry for my English
This is what I've done.
Ive bought this one and works fine with any headphones:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003N2FU5C/ref=oss_product
3 pounds well spent.
Yeah, basically the same thing that I did, but it looks a little better.
Does the button work?
PS: I wonder if I could find that thing some where else (like amazon.de).

Low headset volume

Hi, i am using wildfire with cm7 installed on it. I have a little problem- headset volume is really low. Yes, i have tried to push volume up, and it is on maximum. Tried different headset- same. Phone speaker is really loud. I can`t say when this happened because i got my headset only on this week(borrowed to sister).
I am looking for solution, can anyone help?
check the media volume in settings. else buy a good in ear like sony mdr ex85. or try equalizer app, volume+ app etc. mine is so loud. i use sonys in ear.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Checked every volume levels which i can found. If it helps to now how quiet it is, if i level volume down to about level 5, it is almost unhearable.
One more question. Coud it be hardware problem? I don`t know, if phone is using the same amplifier circuit to headphones and phone speaker.
Thanks.
I had the same problem a couple of months ago, so I bought Volume Boost. You can try it for free first, and there are a few other software options I haven't tried. Volume Boost works OK for me.
Go to Android Market (sorry, I can't give you the direct link here, since it's not allowed).
Göran, Stockholm
Thanks, it makes it a bit louder(i can listen to it now) but still silent.
dude you have done something wrong. also i think that earphone and speakers do not share same hardware.

So thats hardware problem? If so, probably new phone will be cheaper.

3 button remote in-ear headphones with volume control

Hello
I am looking for in-ear headphones which support play/pause, microphone and volume control. Preferably this should be accomplished by 3 buttons: middle button for play/pause and left/right buttons for volume control (just like on iOS).
I do not look for one-button or bluetooth solutions.
As I already searched on xda, I found those headphones:

Here are a few that all three buttons work on one s
- urbeats (htc version )
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-00
- Nokia purity inear ( it say one only Nokia but will work on htc one s)
I tested all of them on htc Sony Nokia lumia and Samsung galaxy phones

However, I do not know if they work with the Nexus 4 or if there are more headphones available.
Could somebody help me out here please?
I gave up looking for headphones with buttons like those because the main reason you have headphones/earbuds is because of the music or podcasts, with an occasionally call here and there...well for me anyways.
And IMO, the one button is good enough which can be found on most headphones. This "universal" button usually just plays, pauses, answers calls, and now a long press will launch google now.
However, you can add an app called Jays headset app or remotecontrol for earphones app. This will enable the number or clicks to determine certain functions like volume control. GL
the 3 button headphones dont work with this phone. It is my understanding that the devices that support the 3 button controllers have a special circuit that is not present on this phone. I have a samsung 3 button and htc 3 button headset that do not work on this phone. I have tried several of the apps that allow you to program the buttons but they did not help.
Just get a nice single button headset and be happy.
Could you recommend a good single button one? My HTC earphones are screwed and I'm looking for new ones for my nexus.

If you are looking for in ear headphones, you cannot go wrong with Kipsche or Shure's with the integrated mics. If you are on a budget, Jays One + for android is an alternative you can look at for decent in ears.
For over ears, there are so many to look at. You can look at any ones that function for "i" devices and they will work for our phones. It's that ONE button or middle button that is the only thing that you are looking for it to work with your phone.

Sigh. Thanks for the information. After no USB on-to-go and a crappy battery life now this. I wonder what will come next.
I guess I will have to look for good one button headphones and an app which supports altering the function of this button. Any recommendations for such an app?
During my time googling on this very issue i came across these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007IPKBA4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=AEUMIRKFWF0IJ
supposedly made by philips precisely for android. philips says: "Personalise your sound and buttons via the Philips Headset App" so..
however, and if i 'm not mistaken, they 're 1 button headphones - but as another person before me 's said, you apparently can determine what a certain number of clicks will do, so you probably can work around the issue.
i 'm probably getting a pair (not sure if i 'm going with these cause i 'm feeling like investing seeing as i 'm out and about a good chunk of my every day and am always listening to music - being a musician and an audiophile) next month - kinda tight financially atm , so when I do i 'll get back to you guys.
currently stuck w/ the apple headphones (not the earpods). mic works, middle button answers/ends calls and plays/pauses music - volume controls just won't work.
'nyways, hope it helped!

Ah right, JAYS Headset Control, thanks
Does anyone else have a problem getting even a 1-button headset to work? It seems I can't even plug it in properly (sound is mono and without bass), and I tried really hard. I tested both an OEM headset that came with my ZTE Blade and a Sony MH650. Both used to work fine on the Blade but on the N4 - no way. Headsets without microphone (and one line less on the headphone jack) work fine.

This obviously means you have to look for headsets that are "Apple compatible" (minus the volume buttons)...

I thought I was so smart researching this (in a non nexus 4 specific way) ahead of time, found some a 3 button headset 'made for android' by htc, and alas, only one button works. I have to go out of my way to find an apple compatible 3 button headset to work with my google branded phone? Geez.
But thanks guys for letting me know why this one won't work. :good:

No the three button headsets are far and between. I haven't seen any that work. I mean even my old N1 headsets don't work. Well the middle button works. The iPhone 3 buttons will not work either.
Just use the one button, which I actually prefer and use an app to map button presses to forward or back up. Tedious? I guess so, but I have no issues with one button headphones. I own a slew of them lol.
I can see where I misread those posts now. No 3 buttons work at all. That sucks.
But what about the people that claim that there are headphones that actually work with the three button?

up to the phonemaker..
The support for 3 buttons or not on an Android phone is up to each phonemaker. Samsung Nexus 3 works fine with 3-button headsets for Android, so does the S3, S4, and many more.. while Nexus 4 does not But the Nexus 5 does (!)
I have a Nexus 3 and 4 and I also actually think music sounds better through the Samsung made Nexus but perphaps that is just mental or the sounchip has something to do with it.
3-Button Headset for Android
I use a 3-button headset from Degauss Labs Sweden and it works and sound great (made for Android).

They also have a really well working headset app (works with any headset by the way) that makes buttoncontrol programmable, so you can choose what 2,3 or more clicks will do for U.

No matter what headset you might want to make that react more intelligently or atleast the way you personally would like it
aka 'tailored button actions'. I recommend using any 'headset button controller app' via Google Play. The one I use - free+adfree..
