If you get help let me no im trying to do the samething i got a little info not much!
Pretty sure the fcc considers that fraud so it is not openly discussed.

Why must you be ignorant. It is not illegal to flash phones, why do you think metroPCS offers their metroFlash service in their corporate stores. Before you start rambling on please do some research and stop misleading others.
The FCC considers ESN/MEID cloning fraud, and is a Federal Offense.
If anyone needs assistance with flashing a Droid to metroPCS please contact our store:

I'm asking this for a friend, he currently doesn't have internet access...
Well he's buying a droid 2 from one of his friends, and he has METROPCS
would he be able to use that phone on metropcs with no problems?
what would be the instructions to do this? or is there a thread consisting the instructions? Sorry for the questions, I'm a Galaxy S Vibrant user, and we usually have stickies on how to root/unlock etc.
Thanks for the help in advance.
*BUMP* can someone please help me?

Check locally for a cell phone repair store as they have the most knowledge about flashing phones. Locally most metroPCS stores send customers to SilverSpoonWireless.

unless you know the exact memory addresses of anything sprint related, no. sure you can swap ESN's and change MIN's with a verizon device, but there is missing data that can't be changed easily. I've tried before,..
p.s. It's a felony

I do, but PRL is only 1/10th of the problem. and the EVO 4G is completely different and the memory address on that would be a different location on this phone.
I won't stop you from trying, but here you go. It's all the DFS information

Wow, I attempt to help you via PM because this conversation itself is against XDA rules, and you think I'm going to ask you for money?
And it is common knowledge, why don't you look up "samsung epic meid repair".
It would tell you exactly!
You use a standard VERIZON PRL.

Swapping esn's is against the law and therefore against xda's rules. That's why he wanted to help via pm. Word of advice, don't be an asshole and call people out like that when they are only trying to help you.

I obviously posted my number for a reason, I have an android device, with the ability to block numbers from texting me.
I've been here long enough to know what threads get trolled, and which do not.
I'm trying to do the same thing except I'm trying to switch to straight talk and I have a sph-d720. I need to know if there's a certain sim card I need to get from straight talk?
I've flashed one to Page Plus (a prepaid network that uses Verizon), and it works fine.
I used these instructions: http://bubhutsa.blogspot.com/2011/11/nexus-s-4g-pageplus.html
I initially had an issue getting it to activate because the esn was incorrectly printed under the battery, but customer support recommended I try the esn number in the status menu, which worked. Other than that, it wasn't all too difficult if you are comfortable modifying your phone.
You would probably be happy with a used gsm nexus s and prepaid TMobile

I'm not sure. What is the $50 plan you are talking about? I am talking about the plans at pagepluscellular.com.
I'd like to offer my phone to the dev community to be used to achieve unlock/s-off.
If the person is jcase or a similarly well known devs for providing such things(Unlimited.Io team) I'll be willing to let them borrow it for the project, otherwise I'll be willing to setup a remote connection on an extra computer I have for them to work with.
Devs PM me for contact information if you are interested.
@jcase I know you have said you aren't interested, but if you can pass around the word in your circles I would appreciate it.
Edit: It is a Verizon model hboot 1.54

If so, send me a PM.

I still have not heard from anyone interested did you hear back from people?
Now I'm sure this has been posted before, but after searching for like 20 minutes I could only find one to unlock a phone to go to a different carrier, not for root.
If no one knows of one, I would like to start one on We The People's website so people like us on Verizon can have the same opportunities as others do on other carriers that don't lock down this so dang hard.
Now of course, being the sh***y administration that Obama's is, last year they changed it from 25k signatures to 100k (and from 5k to 25k back in 2011) to be taken seriously. But I KNOW there is more than 100k Verizon users on here on XDA.
The only tough part would be spreading the word in the 30 days we have to achieve this to everyone who wants this. Maybe XDA can work with us and somehow create a pop-up to when you are on the site or app notifying them of this petition to sign? I know a lot of people would also shrug it off and think it's just spam, so maybe even a PM to everyone?
Now, to get Verizon to take this seriously as well, we would need to have a foolproof plan. We would need to put rules on this for them to even consider this. Such can include (but not limited to, add any you think should be added):
•soon as you root/unlock your device you have now voided your warranty (as it already is) and therefore would need to pay full price for a new phone IF you bricked your device or any other NON physical damages (Water, drops, cracks, etc)
•maybe even pay a small time fee of $50-$100 per phone for this root so they can actually earn some extra money (don't be cheap, you pay $200-$600 dollars per phone, and donate money here so it's the least you could do for freedom).
•That's all I've got for now, but I've been up since 8pm last night working, so my brain isn't fully functional right now so please add!
I'm sorry, but I don't think we will ever have the same abilities as other carriers. If we want to stick it to the man, we will have to do it how we have always done it. Behind their backs and find ways around the locks for what we want. Them giving us the ability outside of a Dev device, won't happen. They don't want us having any more power than that they will allow.
I like the thought, but I really don't see it happening bud.
Nice thought, Dennis but I doubt this would work. Many reasons, but probable the biggest is Verizon has heck of a lot more lawyers (working for them) than we do

lol i'm not sure the relevance of the lawyer comment? i'm not saying we need to force verizon to do this, just something to make them aware that out of over 100 million users on their network, a nice little portion would like this option. they can still make plenty of money out of it, whether it be that one time fee i suggested, or if something happens to your phone other than physical damage, you have to buy a phone at full price.
This thread has been cleaned of all talk of warranty fraud. That is not only illegal, but also against XDA rules. No further discussion on the matter will be tolerated.

I have posted this in a few threads about RCS but figure it may start doing a little better having its own thread. I started a petition to see if I can help persuade Verizon to add proper RCS Support to their network. If you can please sign and share. I know it does not effect everyone, but even if Verizon is not you carrier and you are will to sign and share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i never bother to sign anything,

but i going to sign anyway since it's just a few clicks, no hard labor.
Patience you must have.. young padawan lol
Eventually they'll be support all around. Just a matter of time
