Swiping up and down - Desire HD General

Hey guys,
When using the browser in HTC Desire HD, when swiping up and down the pages, do you all feel that sometimes when you swipe too fast up or down and stop the page suddenly, the page will still be scrolled up or down as per your previous action?
Anyone feeling this?

guess this call kinetic scrolling

Erm.. any way to disable it?

Yes, it happens here to. And i guess you mean that when scrolling, it jump far too long? Or?

Yup that's right. When you do a flick of finger, it gets scrolled down quickly but when you stop halfway, and release it, the page continue to get scrolled down as per like the previous action when you do a flick of the finger. Same?

its called kenetic scrolling and its ment to be there all you have to to to stop the scrolling is to touch the screen, its so you can scroll long list with a quick flick

Yeah I understand but sometimes when I stop it then when I release it got all the way down. Quite irritating at times..

I see. Is there a way to it?
Does iPhone not have this kinetic scrolling, cause I didn't encounter this in iPhone.

Yup, same here. Doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, it's very annoying. It did also happen on my old 3GS. It happens when i'm "stressing" the browser, so i guess it freaks out, haha.

I also noticed this. I thought the browser was supposed to be 2X's faster?
I'm experiencing this too. After upgrading my Desire yesterday to froyo my default web browser was slower and the scrolling and zooming is lagging. I read that it's because of flash 10.1 beta.

Im not experiencing anything like this. If anything, my phone is at its best.

Weird scrolling in CM 7

I've noticed some oddities in the scrolling in cm7. As of now, I only see it in launcher pro and the stock browser. For some reason, it stops tracking your finger if its moving slowly. In other words, if you move your finger slowly across the screen, it doesn't scroll. Is there a fix for this?

Scroll with one finger... Is normal to zoom if you move your fingers slightly one to another while scrolling
How do u scroll with one finger, surely this moves the mouse pointer.

No problem for me. I keep my fingers together.

Sorry, I wrote from phone and I haven't seen that text was deleted.
Use one finger on screen, that's why ouy have a touch screen.
For scrolling using the touchpad you can keep the fingers together, any way you like, or better yet keep the fingers one on top of the other.
That sounds so wrong xddd

just double tap on trackpad with one finger, hold finger on 2nd tap then sroll up or down.

ICS Touch Screen Issues

I see this issue on ALL APPS and DIFFERENT LAUNCHERS.
I cant scroll properly when using quickpic or changing screens on lauchers only does it on ICS. Running STOCK. Does not do this when I go back to gingerbread but while on ics its annoying
Can't say that I've had this issue. The only time that my touch screen acts wonky is when the charger is plugged in, then it acts very odd sometimes.

I found Force GPU rendering to use 2D hardware acceleration in applications but it didnt change anything
its not lag that I am having. Its issues with say when swiping through pics in the gallery or quickpic where scrolling just sucks
I responded in another post by you (best GB rom or something) and asked why you wanted to change to GB.
ICS is very smooth swiping up down, left right, on any ICS rom. Not laggy at all. However I do have an issue with one app regarding sideway scrolling, but that is a UK specific app, and the dev knows about it. Quickpic scrolling is super smooth for me, and so is on Apex, Nova and my preferred choice, GoLauncher.

i mean everything is EXTREAMLY smooth. It just acts up. When moving faster it kinda acts up and glitches like going up it will sometimes go down. I know its not an issue with MY note as it does it with my AT&T version too

If I go slow everything is fine. But when going fast its very annoying, it doesnt happen on Gingerbread
Lick I can flick my finger fast sometimes and it will go SLOW as well
i hear you man..same issues here..thats why im back on the silky stock rooted gb.....same thing you say...it is smooth, but its glitchy when scrolling everywhere...noticed the same thing
one more thing, why couldnt they stick to the beautiful gb rotation animation in ics?in ics rotation is a bit choppy, you'll notice it particularly when exiting from apps from the landscape mode to the launcher( eg: mx player)...
so back on good old gb for now

Multitasking

Hello, I think I'm gonna buy an s4 but there's one thing that bothers me. It seems like there's no fast way to multitask. Just like the previous galaxy phones you have to hold down the home button to get to the recent app list. I find this painfully slow. Any suggestions for faster multitasking?
You find that slow??
Ever heard of Multi-View?

The S4 uses the home button to multi task so it isn't as fast as the nexus 4 ( for the menu to appear) but its still fast enough. But if it bothers you than I would suggest a phone without a home button and on screen buttons.
Use a launcher, like Nova. The default gesture to bring up recent apps is to pinch zoom.
Problem solved.
There is also an app which provides the recent button as an on screen button and remains on screen at all times. You can move it around like a chat head.

Yes I find it slow. Usually I just want to copy paste something or remember something and it takes two seconds to switch back and two seconds to switch forward. Four seconds is a long time these days.
Regarding the Nova launcher, gestures don't work inside apps right?
Samsung should allow customized buttons. I would love to change the menu to multitask.
You should get a HTC One with no home button and a recent apps button. I'm sure you'll love that.

yeah but at least it has double click to multitask which is way faster than a two-second lag.
Thanks for the link to the recent apps floating app. I'm not sure that it is worth it since it will be annoying to have in on the screen all the time...
What about the gestures in alternative launchers (nova). Does that work inside apps?

I agree with you on that point. I was just pointing out incorrect information so others reading don't think it actually has the dedicated multitasking button.

Yes, but it only works at the home screen.
