[Q] web development guide? - Android Software Development

My company is starting new customer relationships site and we would like to add an android application for it... Something like XDA dev app for android.... Can someone help me started with this?
Every link, guide or advice is welcome...
thanks in advance

Sure, HIRE ME! LOL
Seriously, I'm not sure what they need. Sounds just like a redesign of their current site to something that fits a smaller screen. How was the original site designed..in-house or outside contractor?
I see a future with a lot of domain names like "googlem.com" or "googlemobile.com"

actually, we need exactly what xda have here... home page with some news, and forum with controled access... it will be our first (out of many) android application and no one in company have experience with mobile developement...

Hi martin, I'm not really sure, what do You need? Web page, or app that supports your forum, or forum like this one, and app for that forum...

well, i have website like this and forum like this (both under construction currently) and i need guide how to start building app for site and forum... something like this...
http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-android-app/

Why don't you just use app Tapatalk? Almost identical to the xda app. I feel sure one is a clone of the other. I just don't know which one came first.

Just look at http://www.tapatalk.com/rebranding.php and you know the answer.
Just install the Tapatalk plugin on the forum and use Tapatalk to browse it on your mobile.

[IDEA] Epic Pet Wars app for WM6.1

Ok, I am new to forums all together. If I am doing something wrong like posting in the wrong area or using the wrong labels or whatnot, please tell me.
I am requesting an app for windows mobile that allows me to play epic pet wars, the facebook app. from my phone.
If you have a link to an already made application that would be wonderful, too! =]
Well I love this site, I come to it regularly for downloads. Just thought I would say thank you! =]

it's not an app specifically for that,
but you could probably use skyfire to play that app.
I was using it while I was at work to play mobsters back in the day.

xda-developers APP

xda is the greatest site for apps, fixes, and other things for our cells! it is filled with great apps, but what i would like to see is a APP for XDA. one that will take me right to the site, or section for the tp2, with a easy way to download other apps and fixes. i've looked around and found nothing, does anyone know of one? and if someone whos a pro at making apps can possible make one for all of us??

It was a good idea, but to be honest with ya, using Opera is just as effective..

totally forgot. Read those too! Those are great threads to read before posting up any questions, if you run into any trouble, etc.
One more thing...read and read and read and read. You have an expensive phone...all the info you need is here...but do yourself a favor and read for a few days so you understand what you are doing. That will limit your questions and headaches…
There are very helpful people in theses forums and they are more likely to help you after you have you have tried to help your self.

Congratulations on breaking free. Just one piece of advice in addition to the links others already posted - to make your life on these boards more pleasant, use the search before posting questions. There's a good chance the info is already available.
Thank you .
Im reading all this through the app so kind of.hard to read it all bearly getting used to the phone too thanks tho and I will start reading .

Welcome
Like all ....welcome the above posts have provided links, remember a couple of things, Go slow at first before changing up the phone... get used to the phone. Look at the apps here and on the android market
Look at the development section in the Vibrant forum and read alot of the posting and links about the custom ROMs. The people who made them are superior to the service provider developers.
Once you are comfortable with your background/reference education then, start modifying the phone. You are going to find this is SUCH a good phone to customize, and way user friendly than others I have used in the past. Good luck, and welcome
Welcome +1!
We're here to help as long as the question hasn't been posted 15x10^n times =) Reading is integral to learning more about your phone. Peek into the dev forum but don't post any questions in there unless directly related to a ROM you've flashed (and even then search the thread for your answer [there's a search thread button at the top of the page]).
There are many good people on the forum even when the get short tempered due to "failure to read" syndrome.
Congratulations on a wise purchase, your phone is only going to get better (we've got some great devs ).

Develop a market?

Okay so I have thought about this for a long time.
I want to develop a Market, but I don't know were to start... So I need help with this. Maybe we can make a development team of this?
What I can do:
- Supply with Servers (MySQL, FTP etc)
- code in eclipse (I'm not a hardcore coder)
- design the app
I guess you can have a listview to begin with that takes data from a JSON from a MySQL database. Well I'm not really sure.
So if any is interested, post here on this thread or send a PM to me
I know it's a lot of work... Please don't remind me about that, lol.
See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135340
It would be very useful.

that doesnt appear to have anything to do with this topic. they are discussing how to compile and package native c binaries for android. the only thing that comes close is the discussion of opkg
If u need any apk's to stock it let me know. I have somewhere in the ballpark of about 1400. I would need to go through them all 2 remove all the paid apps 1st though.

Okay I'll do that. For the moment the market has to be developed.
lol. yea i figured that part but i just wanted to throw it out there since i seen your post.
excited to see what comes of it.
You could probably just take a look at the AOSP source code, specifically the market code, and get started from there.

[REQUEST] A developer to work pro bono (Occupy movement)

Hi,
I am wondering if there is any developer out there who is sympathetic to the Occupy movement, and would like to design an Android app for one of the Occupy locations. Ideally it would collate posts from Facebook, Twitter, and the website, maybe in three screens that you can swipe between (kind of ICS style if you know what I mean?).
If anyone's interested or knows anyone who might be then please PM me
Thanks in advance
Rediculous
Try Googling "dump.apk"
You're better off asking on Reddit.

I think George Soros can help. He can handle all the brownshirt code.
Maybe you're better off having a mobile website setup for this kind of stuff instead of an Android app (that only works with android, instead of iOS, BB, Windows Mobile..etc).

Yeh somebody suggested that earlier actually, sounds like a better idea. Will look into it, thanks
Aren't you lot getting tired of everyone else doing everything for you?
It's called specialization, we do what we're good at, no need to go back to ancient times & relearn everything. It's how modern societies work, welcome.

Oh right, learning. You say 'we do what we're good at' - that's what, protesting? I can't tell if you're being sardonic, parodying a stereotype. Like going back to ancient times to learn how to write an Android app. Welcome?
This site is for active development. Which means it is a tool to help you learn to do these things on your own. Not ask others to do it for you.
