I took my HD2 TMobile WM6.5 phone to some shop. I really dont understand anything about flashing, etc.... So Android Version 1 was installed. The only problem is I cant make calls due to the robotic voice sound. How do I fix this?
Also since I am using dual boot up. How can I transfer all my phone numbers to the android side?? Please help, I want to start using Android but dont want to boot 6.5 just to make a call...

or when android first installed..make a call to any random number, preferably not to 911 or 999...then just hang up.

Are u using any dual-booting WinMo app?...If yes then skip this step, if not then ;
1. Make sure you tap "clrcad" before tapping "haret"....tapping clrcad first doesn't show any visible response but its working...
2. On android first boot, make a call to any number (0 is allowed), switch to speaker mode & immediately hang up...this should fix it...else,
3. Do the above 2 steps and dig into settings, find the "Audible tones while dialing" (not sure of d exact menu listing) & tick d box off (disable it)...
Transferring numbers from WinMo to Android is quite easy & always remember that GOOGLE is your friend.
Method 1: Follow the instructions found here.
Method 2:
*Sync your Windows Mobile phone to your computer (outlook, outlook express, whatever you normally sync to)Export your contacts from there to a CSV.
*Use Google Contacts (also present in gmail) to import the CSV (import is in the upper right from http://google.com/contacts)
*Add & sync your gmail account on android...Wait a couple minutes. All of your contacts will show up on your Android phone soon!
P.S. there are other methods out there, basically once u can export your contacts to a csv format...u can toss in2 ur gmail acct and let ur phone grab em...

I have a new I-Mate K-Jam, and I'm having problems dialing from contacts.
I'm interested to see if anyone can confirm the same results, following these steps:
1. Soft reset.
2. Access contacts (Start -> Contacts or the Contacts hardware button).
3. Find a contact to dial.
4. Press the green phone button to open up the phone application with the contact number shown, ready for dialing.
On my device, the first attempt of the above briefly launches the phone app with the number inserted, and then within a second switches back to the contacts app.
Further pressing the green phone button does nothing.
Works fine for me. Double clicking the green button on a contact starts calling.

Hmm...I've even hard reset mine to see if that would fix it, no luck. Maybe I have a bad unit?
I have the same problem. Also after it comes back to the contacts my phone signal goes from bars to "!" for a bit.

Mine does the same thing, like the phone resets or something. It's good to hear it's not just me.
Here's some more info. I performed a hard reset, and immediately afterwards, dialing from contacts, (A SIM-based contact, since I hadn't yet synchronized), worked.
As soon as I synchronized with a PC, it stopped working, with about 130 contacts synchronized from Outlook. Even SIM based contacts at that point cannot be dialed.
That's interesting...... hmmmm... well I don't want to do a hard reset yet since I have been tweaking my phone quite a bit. But If I have to then this will be the first thing I will try.
I wonder if has something to do with activesync. What version of activesync do u use?
I'm wondering the same thing. I'm using ActiveSync 4.1.0 Build 4807.
Also, in case I-Mate visits this thread as I've asked them, my ROM versions:
ROM: 1.1.9.3
EXT ROM: 1.1.9.104
More info:
I performed a hard reset, verified that I could dial a SIM contact, then entered a new contact on the device, without using activesync at all.
The problem re-appeared as soon as I added a contact and tried to dial that contact.
Okay, I may have figured this out. The contact I entered on the phone had a number formatted like this:
(123) 456-7890
I performed a soft reset, edited the contact and made the number 1234567890, and I could dial it properly.
Apparently the phone app can't handle a number formatted (123) 456-7890.
A real bonehead bug, if you ask me.
i am running the same version of activesync.
U know a thread concerning this was started at Howard forums
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=745295
by the way I also saw your post on the main K-JAM thread there.... I don't think it is third party apps on the ppc. I think it is activesync.
Thanks for the thread link, I just posted there as well, hadn't seen that discussion previously.
If you notice my last post, I think I figure out what the problem is. I posted my findings in that hofo thread as well.
oops did not see those last 2 posts... u r way too fast for me.....
by the way stupid questionw do I make the number stick to 1234567890 format. It automatically shifts to (123) 456-7890
When entering contacts on my K-Jam, the number doesn't get reformatted, but in Outlook it may, which would make it a pain to adjust. However, it's been awhile since I've entered a contact in Outlook, so I don't know.
But, after reviewing that thread at hofo, I think the problem is the combination of that phone number format PLUS smart dialing. If you disable smart dialing, the problem appears to go away even if you have the (123) 456-7890 formatting.
To disable smart dialing, open the phone app, make sure the phone keypad is displayed, press the menu button, access "Smart Dialing Options", and uncheck the enable smart dialing checkbox.
To remove the smart dialing software completely, which I'm contemplating, you can delete the cab file from the extended rom and hard reset. Use total commander from http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm to manually browse to \Extended_Rom on your device, and you can remove files. (Make a backup copy of everything in that directory first).

Total Commander .. OMAP !!?
I dunno what kind of processor that is on QTek, again guys, did anyone of you tried to install TC 2.0 on OMAP (K-JAM) .. plzz reply ASAP !!
Thanx
The processor for the wizard devices is the omap and it is an ARM variant. I have TC installed on mine (In fact it was installed on mine within 30 minutes of it arriving at my door (Ok, I ambushed the poor FedEx lady before she could get anywhere near my door )) and have experienced no issues with it running on the device.

So i have WM6 on my MDA and it worlds perfectly fine, my only problem is that if im on a call and i need to press number to go through a menu, it dosnt work. The number popup as if im pressing them, but i cant go through the menus, it dosnt work on any phone calls; not even my voicemail. I just want to be able to fix it so that when i press numbers during a call it actually sends the numbers.
Simple solution: go back to a shipped version!
The WM6 ROMs are all 'selfmade', so, you might experience some minor or major bugs ...

Are you installing the T-Mobile .cabs to your phone, like the network custimzations, mms, etc. if so, that may be your issue as it was mine before, so I had started manually inserting the internet server settings, and things like that, instead of installing the .cabs, and that solved my issue...
I posted details on another thread, I will find it and post link here for you.
***EDIT***
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1147465#post1147465
I spent a couple hours sorting through blog posts, downloads, cabs, blah blah blah... with the goal of getting my forsaken Treo Pro (WM6) to use VOIP through my office's SIP/Asterisk setup.
To save you all some headaches, here's the distilled version of what I found to be the best combination of software and quick hints for install:
I started with this blog post, to give credit..
http://voipguides.blogspot.com/2008/05/voip-sip-client-for-windows-mobile-6.html
But I used different software... so I've included a zip with the package of all the stuff I installed to make the damn thing work.
1) Install all of these:
- voipdrivers.cab
- custelvoip.cab (works better than MajikVOIP.cab)
- sipconfig.cab (originally named SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB)
- audioroute.cab (from http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware)
I've also included setupvoip.cab .. which is a fancier SIP setup tool, and may work better than sipconfig... but I used sipconfig originally, so that's what I'm writing up here.
2) Restart your phone
3) Run sipconfig ... enter all of your sip configuration details, and also use the menu option to enable VOIP over 3G if you desire it.
4)Now go start -> settings -> personal -> Phone. Choose ther Internet Calling tab. Set the option for "whenever available".
5)On the main/Today screen you will see a phone icon with description VOIP ( you entered name of provider VOIP in (step 4). It'll show you the status of whether or not it has registered with SIP. A Hint, you might need to trick the phone into connecting to 3G first... e.g. by browsing the web... otherwise WM6 at least doesn't seem to auto-connect to 3G for SIP.
6) After connecting using 3G or wifi, You will see the status displayed as VOIP: Available.
7) You can now make calls as normal, or receive calls in.. and everything is routed through VOIP.
8) You'll notice that many WM phones will route the audio through the rear speaker (annoying) .. which is why you installed audio router from teksoft... it adds a little icon on your top system tray to let you change between earpiece and rear speaker for audio. There's a bunch of audio switchers out there. This is the best one by a mile. And it actually works.
Cheers,
Andrew Eross
Thanks for your effort. Similar tool is already posted as Schap - Setup voip Tool -

Thank you!!!
I've looked around for a guide as clear as yours. You've the best guide all around... Thank you a bunch...
Thanks for your great job. I new on Windows Mobile so I need a lot this kind of help.
I download and followed your installation procedure on a HTC 3G+, T3238 (chinese version of the HTC 3G, manufacturer HTY Taiwan)
Works well, Hope others also will be successfull
By the way, is there an also simple way to sending DTMF tones for remote control of my answering machine? When I try to send numeric keys after the call is connected it looks like I start a new connection with numbers actually for remote control of my answering machine.
Hi, I'm also in the club that has browsed hundreds of post looking for a setup of VOIP and also looking for a solution on good incoming sound level when using Voip on phone. Your files solved all my problems!
Phone: HTC HD2 Norwegian with Rom 1.66. Use the Norwegian company www.iplink.no for VOIP at home / office and (now) on my mobile phone.
Made my own ipdialplan.xml which can be found attached to this post.
Done some testing calling people through Voip: after approx 1 minute the connection falls down. I looks like I'm still connected to the other part (interface shows that a call is going on) but none of us can hear the other part. I then have to cancel the call in the phone interface. Make new call to same person, after approc minute the connection goes down again...
Is there some kind of registry setting that controls this "timeout"?
Hi, this tools does work also on windows mobile 6.5?
I know that on the HTC Fuze some of the wmvoip.cab installs breaks the GPS - anyone test this yet?
THanks!
does this work on hd2
I've done everything you said, but I can't find the option to show internet calling is available. I have Kumar 1.5 installed, and am about to try another ROM (maybe Laurentis, the SIP drivers are cooked in). What are you running?

Best Voip All in one solution. Try This
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596682
I tried last night to no avail. I am guessing that using a WM6.5.x ROM stops me, because I can't access the right settings (start-settings-personal-home or phone) because my settings button takes me straight to the black screen of text version. I even tried to go to a 6.5 ROM (cooked with VOIP drivers in), and even then I couldn't get the VOIP phone icon to appear on the today screen. Every time I selected it from the Internet tab in the setting, it would just ignore my changes.
I would love to get this working with a nice cooked 6.5.x ROM, and am not giving up yet, but man is this frustrating. As a side note, I am learning lots about the workings of WM.

thanks for the reply. i have also installed i was able to receive incoming call but unable to make outgoing call. are you able to make outgoing call?
Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I figured out how to enable the internet calling tab on my HD2. I am still apparently learning lots about WM6.5. After I disabled Sense, I could add tabs to the today screen. I did everything right, but the voip tab just either says searching or not active. And it somehow disabled my data connection. Not sure anymore, almost through trying ROMs. Is everyone else running this on a stock ROM, or are there certain features that interfere with this?
VOIP almost working
I've implemented Internet Dialing and have SIP configured my my provider and I am able to receive calls. But, I notice that when I dial out a "9" is put in front of the number I'm dialing making it impossible to dial a number correctly. How can I change this?

You need to edit your ipdialplan.xml. It's in your windows directory. Basically it is set up by default to dial a 9 and in area code 425... If you look at it you should see where to edit it... There's also a utility knocking about here to set up a basic one for other countries...
Can't svae ipdialplan changes
I can open Total Commander find the file and make the changes to ipdialplan.xml by taking the "9" out of the 10 digit plan and the 7 digit plan, but I can't save the changes. I get "Error, could not create file" every time.
It's either open or write protected. Edit on the PC. Copy it over with a different extension. Rename the original, and then rename the new one to the right name.....
I have this very strange problem.
I have tried to install all this, but it works only partially.
Outgoing calls work and the receiving party can hear me. However, I don't hear them. Also, on incoming calls my phone doesn't respond at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?
I'm having a Topaz @ WM65.
I don't know if this is something I just need to be patient for or if there is a simple fix for but I can't get TiKL Push to Talk Walkie app to work for my HD2...
When I start up the app it prompts me with the following:
"Your phone is programmed with an empty number.
Verify it by going to your home screen ->Menu->Settings->About Phone-> Status->My Phone number.
Please call your carrier to get it fixed before using TiKL."
Has anyone found a fix for this?
Do they have that app in the market
I use Tikl with no problems with my HD2 Android. Any build, and I've used almost every one, except the eclair build. It's a great app, which I mainly use when I'm driving... so no more text and drive =)
What I know is that you can only talk to those who have android & Tikl installed. you must assign a contact or contact(s) who you want to talk to. Of course, like I said, the others receiving the call / connection MUST have Tikl.
Works fine for me I was able to tikl with MT wife yesterday with cm6rc1

Been asked before, but no answer.
I'll be moving cities and will have to change VOIP number. I still want to be able to use the original number to be usable without having to log in and out to switch.
If i can run the voip app twice simultaneously, I'd be able to send and receive calls & texts from both (just have to switch application).
my best option so far is to use call forwarding to send the calls from one account to the second, but in this case I won't be receiving texts and i wont be able to call from the account I'm forwarding.
maybe there's a way to rename all the system files of one of the apps so my phone treats the two as completely different apps; allowing me to install and run both?
Thanks for the help

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment with stock Android. Unless you have a Galaxy S (3 and above with Touchwiz) device with has that split screen feature that allows multiple apps to run at the same time. Even so, there's only a limited number of apps (if im correct that will run like this)

I don't think it's possible even on multi window, where two different applications can be run on split screen. He wants to run the same application at the same time as 2 different applications. Currently ( and may be never ) there is no way of doing this.

i didnt really understand what you meant to say, but if you want to run 2 apps at the same time, use multiwindow/halo
if you wanna keep 2 copies of the same app,you need a rom with multiuser support
I've been able to install the same app twice but it needs to have a different signature than the original. Maybe try extracting the app and recompile with the generic signature and it might work.

This. Which means you are going to have to hack the app packages and fool android into thinking that they are different apps with the same name.
