You actually came off as pretty whiny.
While I can appreciate the thought that went into it, you have to realize that you will NEVER get anyone on the phone that is capable of telling you anything because they just do not know.
No one will tell them until hours before the release. Further, nothing you say will be handled after the phone call/chat in any way other than it is logged for security purposes. If you are lucky and they were screening complaint levels/call topics, you might end up being a check mark in a column. End of story.
Remember the phone support is nearly the bottom rung of the company ladder. They have only moderately higher knowledge of the product as the temps/interns. They are not disclosed sensitive information because they are low pay, high turnover disposable employees and the leak risk is asronomical. Low pay = low loyalty.

By comparison to half the people on these forums the OP was very nice and polite.
By normal standards, yes it was rather whiny though. Especially going to a department that wouldn't have any information to give out to begin with and probably can't even get the complaint to anyone who can use it anyways.

I've been communicating with someone about this and am currently trying to get it resolved as we speak. To all who have their panties up in a bunch, sorry, might wanna check into getting that fixed, and to all who have offered any assistance, I appreciate it.

You come to a dev forum of a phone looking for assistance with sprint. This is not the place to do that. If you have an issue with the advice we may be able to offer device but any customer care and or network related issue cant be resolved here and its kind of ridiculous to think so.
you do know the sprint has forums of their own if you wanted to demand assistance...coming here and demanding someone 'from' sprint to tend to your need is a pretty ***** move if you ask me.....especially without giving any information about your problem....

Samsung is a Korean company, so I would assume it's Korean.
Don't bother Koush with that, he hasn't been focusing on getting the fascinate kernel to compile, you'll just be forcing him to hit the delete button one more time on his PM box.
Angel or myself will discuss this with hc, jt, noobnl, Lil, a few others and figure out how best to describe our problems to them.

yes... i've been dealing with a lot of korean companies, but all the e-mail responses are not made by any sort of technical engineers or have at least the knowledge of providing the proper answers.
These ppl just take the keywords out of the question and simply replies with the best matching response from their 'pre-made' messages...
so... not really helpful unless you really call them or go up to them...

Er, over the last month @samsungukmobile have been asked this question daily a great number of times, by many different people, and have ignored them all until now... so methinks this is perhaps not "your question" that they are responding to.
You have no idea how hard that took for me to get the message across to the UK P.R. Manager at Samsung:-

Having been in communication with Samsung regarding the GPS problems which have been experienced. They are confirming that the Froyo update should resolve these issues and be available via the Samsung Kies interface within the next 1-2 weeks.

Samsung has just told their 1888 number to let the orginal poster send in the phone that didnt have proof of purchase (receipt) from Bell to be sent in. So for all who are wanting some sort of help or guidance. PLEASE reply back to that wall post. Make your voice heard.

This will not fly...... most people have working phones its just a few that have issues and end up complaining.. and they end up here looking to solve the issue.. where as most the public will not even log on to the xda forums..
Also I have a buddy that works at the Bell store and sure they have had a few returned but most people that have the Samsung S love it... I for one do not have any issues and I know 2 other people with the phone that don't have issues and the GPS works great.
EDIT: Well, some will say this effort had no impact, others will not be so naive and realize the voices of MANY of you were heard. Really applaud everyone... regardless if it helped or not, Samsung has stated that they have heard us AND that it's something they are not used to, but will make an effort... I feel like this is success.

I generally remain calm and try and remain upbeat and defend... but the news (rumor/leak) about Samsung holding off the froyo release to sell more phones set me over the edge.
While nothing is confirmed, I still believe Samsung needs to be aware of just how pissed they are making our community. I'm not talking stupid class action, blah blah... I simply want our voice heard, and for a Froyo release to happen ASAP... but beyond that, I want them to adhere to the Open Handset Alliance and release their source for our developers.

Awesome, please do what you can people... the whole point is to be organized, make it trend on twitter and Samsung will be forced to respond. Maybe that is why I am so upset, they have not made any effort to debunk these rumors.

to be most effective, I think you should post this is all US galaxy s variant forums. Fascinate, Epic, Captivate, and the other one or two. Get all US Galaxy S users to do this too!
btw, i dont have a twitter account or have ever used it. any suggestions on how to post your message once i create a twitter account?

Creating an account is super easy (and the best way to keep up with our developers). Once you have the account created, just PM me if you need help.... you could just copy/paste what I have in the OP if you like.

I would never ever imagine this coming from you but you actually did a pretty good thread. I don't think it would make diffrence, people aren't going to follow up, XDA is a small portion of all samsung phones.
Like someone said samsung is known for their eletronics that are release as is, no follow up update. As big as they are they become greedy. Its a company out out for money, "making a new phone with new software" will get the most sales.
If they give us froyo now it will drop their new phone sales dramactecly (spelling). Because an old phone will be cheaper then a new phone The vibrant 4G isnt really a big update besides the FFC and HSPA+. Thereby the orignal vibrant.will get.bought.
Another thing to think about is when the vibrant 4G/plus gets out we will not get froyo right away, maybe a month after.

I did this... but now I realize that is against XDA rules (I never post multiple threads). I need to let the mods know my error. Hopefully this thread remains open though.

Ahh.... THAT is probably the way I should have done it. Hopefully the other threads remain open. I imagine XDA wants developers to get their source too....

I wouldnt be upset about the hold on 2.2, if NOT FOR THE FREAKING FACT THAT THEIR 2.1 + TOUCH WIZ WAS BUGGY AS A ROACH MOTEL.
K, done. I doubt it will have any effect on whether we see updates for our Vibrants but at least I've contributed to the "user outrage", such as it is.
