Hey all! I just bout a tab on Tmobile. I'm pretty experienced with android. Ill be rooting as soon as it gets here.
I have found basically this same thread for a sprint galaxy tab. I'm just wondering if this is possible on T-mobile?

Hi, I've searched through this, but I have not been able to find exact information. If you do, please feel free to point it to me - i will delete this thread.
I have been owning TMO Galaxy Tab (original) for a year now and I am getting Galaxy S2 from ATT because Amazon offered me it for a penny. I am wondering if anyone has tried to tether with ATT phone. I already read many post that ATT detects tethering traffic and forces customers to pay for tethering plan but the most I have seen so far have been with PC or with iPhone. My case is a bit different, I think, since it will be Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S2, but I want to check if anyone has been doing this. Being Tab user for a year, I am pretty sure I want to use Tab once in a while, especially for the navigation. I am thinking of paying ETF for Tab's 200MB plan, if that makes sense economically, that is.
Thanks!
Hello all,
I've got a question regarding a "sprint" galaxy s4 I recently purchased from an individual through craigslist. I called sprint to confirm the phone had a clean esn before purchasing, which it did. I did not however have the phone activated before handing over the cash. So now what I have is a galaxy s4 that can be activated on the boost network but no longer on the sprint network. My question is how would I go about getting the phone able to be activated on the sprint network once again. I'm assuming the phone needs to have something flashed so I went ahead and rooted it. If anyone has any suggestions or is familiar with the process to make this happen, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you in advance,
Brian
Hello everyone. New to this community, have been around XDA for quite some time now. Was inactive for the most part. Cheap phones don't have the best support in the developer community. My last phone was the LG Stylo and the Galaxy Light before that. Now I have this phone and it is activated on MetroPCS. The only features I don't have is video calling, it is not available. Probably because Verizon makes you pay to use that feature. Is there any way that I can get everything to work on the stock VZW firmware or can I flash a stock tar from the Metro S5?
Bump. Anyone know a fix?
Ok, I hope this isn't a totally stupid question, but here goes. My trusty old Galaxy S Blaze is, well, getting old, and I've decided after much research that I want a Galaxy S5. I'm also thinking to switch my carrier from Tmobile to Straight Talk, but would like to piggyback off the Verizon network as I've heard many good things about them. Tmobile is driving me nuts with dropped calls, coverage that sucks, etc.
Soooo....
Part One: can I use my Blaze's sim card in an new unlocked Verizon S5 that I may buy through ebay?
Part Two: Can I then take said new phone and hook up with Straight Talk? I'm just unsure because of the whole GSM/CDMA thing.
Thank you in advance!

Hi all, i'm just recently joined this site
I just bought an unlocked galaxy s8 from Samsung website, but now i'm worried. I currently have AT&T and was planning on continuing to use my plan from them, but I was reading that things like Wi-fi calling don't work on unlocked phones with AT&T. Is this true? I was debating on returning the phone (haven't gotten it in the mail yet) and get an AT&T associated one, just because in my work building, there's quite a few dead zones where I don't get service and sending texts was always frustrating until i learned about the wifi calling feature on my current phone. I really don't want to have a brand new, amazing phone like the s8 and still struggle with text messages not going through.
I was reading around on here, that there might be a way to flash AT&T firmware onto my unlocked phone so I can get Wi-fi calling abilities, is this true? How could I go about doing that? I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to messing with phone software like that (but I can follow directions easily), so would it be worth trying to figure out or am I better off just spending the extra money for the ATT specific phone? That one doesn't have the color I wanted either so it's a little bit of a bummer.
Thanks for any possible help

Read these treads, you will get an idea and if you decided to do it or have questions, then this is your go to guide:

Basically u will not get wifi calling unless u supply ATT with a imei number from a legit wifi calling capable phone even with the flash. Since this seems to be of major importance to u I would get the ATT phone.

unlocked carrier free model OTA updates have also been already palpably behind Verizon and T-Mobile.
