I'm debating selling my Sprint Galaxy Tab for a T-Mobile Galaxy Tab.
I feel like everyone is focusing on the GSM and creating roms for GSM, now when HoneyComb comes out; it looks like it'll be cooked to work on a GSM Galaxy Tab faster then it would on a CDMA Galaxy tab.
What do you guys think? Sell my sprint for a tmobile?
The main concern is coverage. If you think you'll be happy with it, go for it.
T-Mobile webconnect is much cheaper if you plan to use the hotspot sharing.

I have an IPAD with $30 unlimited plan. On the 21st ATT is releasing their version of the Galaxy. Can I use my simm off the IPAD on the Galaxy. Now that would be kick ass...
Thanks
If you use an adapter, it should be just fine, though AT&T might be tracking the IMEI numbers of their version of the Tab to prevent this.
Apple kickbacks are sort of helping cover the costs of that plan, and you can bet Apple won't be too happy to see it used on non-Apple devices.
AT&T has said they are going to offer the same "iPad" data plans on the Galaxy Tab, so they probably wouldn't care if you swapped SIMs.

Yeah, but I think he's got one of the old plans they're no longer offering.
Micro. I just bought a tab. Put my Att berry sim. It did not work. Also, I couldn't connect to iPhone or iPad running my-wi.
WTH
R u saying you can't use tethering the Tab & iPhone? There is a post on how to use Ad-hoc wireless on the tab and it works. Either in this sub-forum or the General one.
I just picked up an AT&T Galaxy Tab and it works fine with the iPad sim. No need to change the APN either. I'm using a grandfathered $30/mo unlimited plan too.

I was wondering the same too...i put my att ipad sim in my rooted att tab and data does not work. Dont know much about roms but im told this is a euro rom. The tab hands down is a cooler devivce and i would love to use it with my ipad sim...any help would be appreciated
Ipad uses a MICROSIM
Tab uses a plain SIM
You will have to get an adapter.
Hi Folks, I just was thinking.... if AT&T close the purchase of Tmobile will a US Galaxy Tab with EURO ROM 3G Data Connection work with the Band of AT&T????
I read a notice where they said Tmobile users with 3G Handsets will need to replace them!!!!
If thats the case i will die, i am not replacing my tab unless they want to give me one if they want me as a customer.

I purchased it by my own, so I don't have contract I use the SIM of my Cell, but also I pay another from Simple Mobile, but thinking Simple Mobile use the same band as Tmobile. So just in case I will keep it with Simple Mobile.
I love my Galaxy Tab cause the size, I don't want a biggie 10.1" I was considering the 8.9 one! But I still refuse! hahaa
It'll be quite awhile before anyone has to worry about T-Mobile devices having to be replaced. At least a year for the deal to come to full fruition legally / economically. And then probably another year speaking in structural specifics (radio bands / frequency merges etc). Both companies have said that publicly. Not to mention, a typical contract is 2 years. Imagine most of us will want the newer hardware at that point anyways. Who wants a single core tablet in 2013, when 4/6/8 cores will be coming along in that time frame.
No sense sweating it at this point.
I have been looking far and wide trying to find what bands the galaxy tab 7 plus will come with? Has anyone seen anything about this? Will the HSPA+ work on AT&T's network?
Thanks all! Sorry to crash the Galaxy Tab forum for info, figured if anyone knew, it would be you guys...
ATT is going to get there own version!
ATT is going to get there own version! Go to Phonedog.com and you'll see a post there that ATT version just past FCC. You'll just have to wait until Att releases it the public!
I have the 7+ on TMO and it works very well on the HSPA+. I would venture to say that once it comes to ATT, it should work on their HSPA+.
As the owner of the International model, I found this encouraging. I don't know if anyone saw this article, but it says that T-Mobile is going to revamp their network to make it compatible with iPhones and other smartphones.

I know there had been some hinting about this effort, but I heard last month that they had abandoned plans to reconfigure their network. This article seems to say full speed ahead.
Finally an amerikan carrier with some sense! That's sorely lacking...

i hope this comes to fruition very quickly.
i like buying phones off contract and most (if not all) off contract international phones only support ATT bands.
being able to purchase pretty much ANY GSM phone and have it work on tmobile would be a godsend and that will pretty much have people jumping ship from att to tmobile.
i am currently on Sprint and have had it with their service. I live near Chicago, supposedly one of Sprint's maiden Spark cities, and their speeds have either stayed the same or have been worse than in the past. Because I just bought my phone under contract and other reasons, I am looking to jump to T-Mobile.
One thing I am considering is whether or not I should keep my current S5 or trade it into T-Mobile and get a new S5 from them. I know T-Mobile has the Download Booster feature unlocked on their handsets, but I am not sure if this is something deleted from Sprint's handsets before they sold them, or if the device is locked by the SIM or any other reason.
Has anyone else had an experience making this switch? I am curious what others have experienced.
u can not use Sprint S5 on T-Mobile anyway, time for new S5 if u made that switch.

In the past, that is true. The S5 actually uses a SIM card and can be used on a GSM carrier.
lookup Sprint S5 (CDMA) and T-Mobile S5 (GSM) then u will know what is the different.

I am fully aware the difference between Sprint's CDMA network and T-Mobile's GSM network. If you look at Sprint's S5 specs, it still has a GSM antenna. Here's my reference.
