I'm looking for the new Gingerbread LPWs but haven't found anything. I know there are some available in the Market and other apks, but none of them are properly sized for the Legend.
Does anyone know where to get them if they exist?
Alternatively, is there a way to set a custom background on cyanogenmod's Nexus LWP?
Thanks.

Try look for Nexus Revamped in market. That one will let you use a custom background, and it's working smooth for Legend.
I tried that but the particles in Nexus Revamped look bad in comparison to the cyanogenmod version.
or install CM7.0 pre-release.
I'm running CM 7 nightly 25. The new LWPs are not incorporated.

Hi! I have got an HTC Touch HD and since i saw a video of Nexus One I'm interested in trying Android on my device, but I can't understand the differences between the different versions.
First of all: the Android 2.0.1 and the 2.1 are different? Because on the Nexus One web site the 2.1 is called Eclair, but on this forum I found this name associated to the 2.0.1
Second one: what is the version of ported Android most similar to the Nexus One's?

2.0.1 and 2.1 are both Eclair, the Droid has 2.0.1 and it's what PHH and the others are using as a main build, there are 2.1 builds around, though, but are still sometimes unstable or laggy (being worked on).
2.1 brings live wallpapers, voice input and some other stuff, this is what the Nexus One has, there's also the new app drawer, but i think that's exclusive to the Nexus One (3D effect). Live wallpapers were made to work on 2.0.1, though.
Next version will be called Froyo (FROzen YOghurt).
Ok thanks...Another question..
I didn't understand how Android is installed... Do I loose WM? Or is it installed in dual boot?

No you dont lose WinMo, this installs on your SD card is 'sort of' Dual boot...
You just run a little launcher in WinMo and Android will terminate WinMo and run.... next time you restart your phone, you're back to WinMo as always.
There is a 'dual boot' program that someone developed, but essentially this is just a fancy app to auto-start the launcher from WinMo as soon as WinMo boots.
You should try reading a few of the opening posts though, and place your questions in the 'Ask questions here' sticky at the top of this android forum.
ook! thank you very much!
Is their any way to get the stock Froyo Rom on the incredible? I really hate the sense interface notifications bar and lockscreen. I know cyanogenmod has a nightly Rom, but I just want a full stock Froyo Rom like they run on the nexus one.

I don't believe it has been ported yet. Cyanogen is as close as it gets for now.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA app.
Just so you know while you are looking for a stock froyo. Look for "Vanilla froyo" the term vanilla is used to describe the plain, no extra rom. Vanilla froyo is non-sense, non-motoblur, non-xxxxxx....
Letting you know so when you see "vanilla" that is what you are looking for. So cyanogenmod 6 is currently the only supported vanilla froyo that is out right now for the incredible which is constantly being worked on by koush.
So, coming from a string of G1's and a Nexus, I cannot stand SenseUi. At ALL. I can live with the widgets and launcher- they are actually tolerable- what I cant accept are the keyboard, the way contacts are brought up, the lack of cut/paste in several areas, and all the frilly crud that goes along with it. I seek a TRUE vanilla rom, based on Android components not HTC. People constantly recommend using advanced launcher or one similar, but these are just launchers- they dont change the stuff back to stock that I seek. So my question is, can there ever be a REAL vanilla rom that has none of the Sense components? Is it possible to de-theme these areas in similar fashion to how the current de-sensing works, or would it require that HTC releases a vanilla version (which they never will). I guess I am asking, am I fighting a loosing battle?
You are coming from an N1 and asking this question?
Really?
Cyanogenmod ring a bell?
i was in the same boat as you. i am on cyanogen now, however there are a few issues with this port. on the nexus i didn't ever have any issues with cm6 but on the incredible you have to install another kernel after you install cm6 so that the camera will work, the camcorder just doesn't work yet, and when i have wifi on i get a reboot about once a day. i live with it because like you i hate sense ui but i wish they would have released a n1 for verizon. they did just release the source code for 2.6.32 which is froyo today, so the code shoulod be added into the nightlies of cm6 shortly.
It's been said that the latest radio fixes many (if not all) of those problems in Cyanogen on DInc. I can't attest to this being true or not, but some people were talking about it last night in the "Unrevoked - Forever" thread in the dev section.
cool! so there is hope. I figured the CM rom would be truly vanilla, but since it had so many little oddities I haven't given it a go yet. Good to know there is the possibility. Thanks guys

The new .32 kernel source that was just released will also allow koush to finish CM6 for the incredible. Basically now that this new kernel is out the bluetooth stack and everything else including the camcorder not working in CM6 will all work once implemented.
Even though the bluetooth works perfect in CM6 unlike normal senseui roms. /letting out BT steam
...
I wonder when this will be ready?
Hey, I'm having some trouble finding a full AOSP 2.3 Gingerbread ROM with zero modifications to styling. I obviously want one that has all the necessary drivers for the hardware, but I don't want "extras". I've seemingly tried them all, and the closest to full AOSP I could find was bcnice's ROM, which he hasn't updated in months. The most up to date, closest to AOSP I've found is the Evervolv 1.0.1b4, but I'm getting tired of flashing the stock font pack every time I try a new update, and I don't like that is has its "own launcher".
Are there any fully functional 2.3 ROMs available that are 100% AOSP, or does everyone add their recommended programs and styling? It feels like I'm getting a carrier update lol.
What you are looking for just doesn't exist yet. Closest thing available are the Roms you already tried or this one below, but many things don't work yet like front cam, gps, etc....

Cool, thanks. Looks like that one's been updated to fix the issues I remember with it before. I'll give it a shot!
Just out of curiosity, why isn't there a 100% AOSP rom? Is it because there is little dev interest? Would it be very difficult to do a straight port? It seems like maybe CM would release a straight port before they started adding their stuff... but I'm a newb and unsure of how the process works really.

I'm using the SalvageMod one mentioned earlier now, and it's VERY stock. The only things that are different that I can see are some custom wallpapers (doesn't really count as not-AOSP) and the semi-transparent notification drop down.
kommydroid is completely stock 2.3 with the only mod being the boot animation.
KommyDroid Looks pretty good... when I get my new Evo from Sprint, I'll try flashing it.
[anyDEV] can anyone develop the sense ui for this device ?
I think you could find a sense launcher and sense clock somewhere in these forums or in google play try search google by term sense launcher.apk and sense clock.apk
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
Unlikely because Sense is HTC proprietary and requires a special kernel, frame work , and libraries.
Also , questions go in the Q&A section and put more information in the title so people know what you are posting about.

Sorry abt not posting this in the right section....but bro i do believe that someone out there is working on or trying to port it to the device
There have been countless attempts to port Sense, TouchWiz, and Blur to devices that don't ship with said interfaces. I have never seen a fully working ROM ever ported. They get to a certain point in functionality, then progress stops as the only way to fix the remaining issues is to get new binaries compiled which only HTC/Samsung/Moto have the ability to do. Feel free to try it yourself, but I doubt anyone is going to accomplish this. Also, why would you want Sense? It is probably the most bloated of all the OEM Skins out there.

Bloated?, yeah, but I think sense has a better personality.....
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using Tapatalk 2
Install a rom that has a theme chooser, download sense aokp/cm theme from market, HTC icons, APW widgets and Nova launcher. That will get you pretty close.
*edit, nevermind. Sense theme chooser theme doesn't work, at least with the cm10 with tablet mod I am using.
