Should I update Clockwork for SRF1.2?

I currently have Clockwork Rec. version 3.0.0.5 orange. I already flashed SRF1.2 onto my Epic, but everything seems to be fine.
Also, I want to install the full loaded version. Do I just put the 7mb zip onto my sdcard and do an install from sd card without wiping/factory reset?
Thanks.
I just updated from 3006 with no problems. I also put the clean Rom on.
Sent from my Epic on Midnight or my Galaxy Tab rooted (feels naked without a ROM)
I updated to the CWM purple (3.0.2.5 i believe), flashed SRF 1.2 and did a CWM backup. After I was getting many FCs, I decided to restore my CWM backup, and now CWM has reverted back to orange. Is this a problem? Will it affect future flashing? Thanks!
I don't think data restore works between CWM versions, so be aware of that. Otherwise 3.1.0.1 (Purple) is the latest and greatest. Be aware if you flash a pre-rooted kernel with a prior version of CWM included, you may wind up with two different versions of CWM installed.
If you're going to use 3.1.0.1 I'd suggest also flashing Clean Kernel or Genocide as those are both updated with 3.1.0.1 reboot recovery.

Does the boot.img install kernel modules?

I installed faux123's kernel yesterday and tried undervolting the kernel, but it was acting weird so I decided I want to go back to the stock kernel. If I extracted the boot.img from google's factory stock image, will it re-install all the kernel modules if I decide to wipe the sys/module folder? The stock kernel modules are installed by the rom from what I understand, correct? This means that I will need to re-flash the rom on my phone to get it back to the stock way. I just don't want faux's leftover kernel modules in that folder after I flash back to the stock rom.

Quick question abot franco.Kernel

Hi, I'm currently running stock rooted 4.22 rom and franco kernel r134 with ClockWork Recovery and I want to flash the ParanoidAndroid, what should I do? Should I just download PA and GAPPS, flash it with factory reset, dalvik and cache, and I will still have my franco kernel? Or should I flash kernel reset first and then flash PA?
When you flash the Rom you will lose the kernel and it will install the one included with the Rom if you want Franco kernel back you have to refresh it.
Flash ROM gapps Franco kernel and reboot done

[Q] no so called safe kernels will boot

Ok so i want to put CM rom onto this S2 I have but trying to put a safe kernel on first so dont brick it with that wipe bug.
Problem is whenever I flash dream kernel, skfire etc. the device doesnt boot, only boots again when I flash cf-root back.
Its ICS 4.0.3
I am flashing via install frim zip file on CWM as instructions arent given on the kernel threads.
siyah flashed via odin, the logo appears very briefly at boot then black, nothing.
CWM with siyah logo in background works.
Ok I flashed cm9 now anyway.
It was confusing to me but incase anyone else is confused in the same way, cf-root is still safe as long as the stock isnt 4.0.4. I thought its possible cf-root used a 4.0.4 kernel on 4.0.3 and so was heistant.
I got no idea why none of the custom kernels would boot tho so that still has nme curious, CM has booted fine.

[Q] Boot loops after flashing kernels

My Nexus 4 has been unable to flash most kernels without giving me a boot loop. I was on the Purity rom for a while and tried to flash Hellscore, Hellsdoctor, and Matr1x kernels but each would give me boot loops. However franco kernel flashed just fine. I then tried the Nexus 5 Experience rom with the CAF kernel packaged into the zip file and that flashed just fine. I now am trying C-Rom v5.6 and trying to flash the AK kernel v103 and it of course gives me a boot loop as well. I tried to flash Hellsdoctor to see if that would work, it did not. But franco kernel still flashed just fine for this rom as well. I did wipe data, cache, and dalvik and flashed the rom, then gapps, then the kernel. Unless I am missing something really stupid I do not understand why I cannot use most kernels. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
