Need help / broke my Tab =) - Galaxy Tab General

Hey guys,
I really need your help this time.
I tried tto update my Ggalaxy-Tab using Samsung-Kies, but I always got errors.
So I decided to look online for help and found some flashing instructions.
So I downloaded the Odin software (v1.7) and the ROM and started flashing my tab.
Now back to the problem:
It says, flashing was sucessfull, but whenever I turn on my tab I get this symbol:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And that doesn't look right =)
I tried to flash my Tab a couple more times, but now I always get errors like that:
Does anybody know a solution forr that problem ?
And I didn't Root my Galaxy-Tab.
Thank You so much for your help !!!

You seem to have a protected boot loader
!!! Warning... this is not a proper solution !!!!!
I have that problem before, you need a successful flash to get pass that screen.
so...... my easy and quick work around is to flash a PIT file from Roto's rom lol
I did that without losing any data and no side effect as I can c.

small tutorial with links
Thx for your quick reply !!!
could u please psot a little tutorial (if u have time for that =))

Run Odin and click the PIT button. Select a pit file (e.g this one). Make sure that "Re-Partition" is ticked. Connect your tab and make sure that Odin sees it. Click Start and your Tab should magically come back to life (hopefully ).

Do as paulshields said.
Advice...
Everyone can make mistake.... u may made one thats fine... dont worry..
But playing with kernel and bood loader can be dangerous.
It would be good to read others' experience and instructions carefully before flashing.
!! Stay away from samfirmware as firmwares from that sites usually contain protected boot loader which will prevent flashing of unsigned boot loader and kernel (thats the reason your CF-Root flashing failed).
You can patch your boot loader back by using Roto and Chainfire's patcher (read stickies)
Please do research and read a lot ^^

Everyone has to learn some time, perhaps this is your time.
You didn't bother reading the sticky threads in this sub forum and you now have signed bootloaders.
You've tried to flash an unsigned kernel and your tab has rejected it which is why it is asking you to re-flash.
You didn't bother searching this sub forum for the other noobs who have also claimed to have bricked their tabs in exactly the same way.
You're also posting this in the Development forum. Its correct place is QA.

Fixed
All right,
I tried to do it with Roto ROM and it really worked !!! =)
Thank You for your help...
And I'm sorry if this was posted in the wrong section...

Don't think you need to start a new thread for every question just ask in the last one you started.Don't mean that in bad way just tryin to help.
Also the kitchen has built in help and it tells you exactly what to do. If sendkeys is failing it will link you to the download to get it. It tells you that if you can't install it for any reason then to just use cmd.

There was a pop up message waiting for you to acknowledge it. It may have been hidden. I wouldn't recommend trying to rush through as you are trying to leave though.
This guy has been over on androidforums.com and we have tried to help him there too. He asks the same thing over and over in multiple threads over there as well. Not sure what the deal is . We've pointed him in the direction for rooting and everything on it, even told him to read and research etc.
i am sorry i am just a worried person and i am really new to this whole rooting thing.. SORRY
You don't have to apologies. I think a lot of people are worried, and new to the scene. But I do suggest taking your time and the advice everyone is giving you. There are a lot of good guides/tutorials out there, you just have to read them. Take your time and read. Do not rush it, as that is what causes problems.
yeah because i did and i lost everything my contacts and my apps. Is there anyway i can get them back i made a nandroid too??

Boot back into the recovery.. do restore nand. You'll have your stuff back..
As far as your contacts go, you should be using a google account to store them... That way, when you flash a new rom, you wont have to enter in your contacts every time... Even if this is the sole purpose of your google account.. its worth it.

Follow the instructions in *THIS* thread (post3) on how to create and flash your own SplashScreen. I wrote a small batch file to make the process alot easier and you can create 1st or 2nd SplashScreens with it.

yeah agreed mate, although i remember when the SGSII first came out it was similar to this but after a week or two it was must easier to root the phone.
Thanks for the tutorial! Everything is going great so far.
1 thing while installing suser i can't get right is this:
Maybe i'm writing in the wrong command or i have a misspelling somewhere?
Would you mind writing all the commands here at the forum's?
Thanks

hi guys on the s3 my csc is btu is that a uk csc?
Added CF-ROOT Method !
Please help...
Hello, first of all, i would like to say thank you so much for your noob proof guide on rooting SGS3. I successfully rooted my SGS3 by following your method (and i am a noob haha).
But, i have a problem now, my phone keep reminding me to update my firmware, and i couldn't do it. From what i read, its because my phone is rooted.
So, now i want to un-root my phone, but i am so confuse because so much info out there. I try to read it over and over but i still not understand (i am a noob).
So, i need your help to guide me to unroot my phone. I am not using the CF-Root, i am using the first method you posted on this thread.
Please help me... i dont know what to do. :crying:
Thank you so much for your help, i really appreciate it

Sorry to say but.....

Hi, Please dont get offended by this post
I have been on XDA forum for long time, I have never seen such a messed up forum the way SII's is.
Just got a SII, thought of flashing it, been lurking around in all the sub forums, there is too many information which is confusing. It is impossible for a person to flash his SII in a day, I have already spent three days trying just to find best possible way to root, even that seems tough now, cant it be made simple as it was on windows phone.. If all the developers can post files required for rooting along with their Rom in a seperate link, on the same page, it will be easier. Right now its like 'you can use my tyres for your car but you got to look for someone to fill the air some place else'. Sorry but this is what it really looks like!
It's simple really. Flash a rooted kernel an then you have root.

Sorry to say but..... this is just lazyness. Too easy to do it. On my first day of using the Galaxy S II, my first Android phone [I was using a Nokia N95-8GB], I've already got root, I've been able to delete crap from /system/app. Didn't take 3 days, and no dev will spend time writing a noob-guide of how to root, it's a basic thing where every Android user should do, and there are plenty of guides of how to root, and they are very easy. I think people should let the lazyness away and search for it, not writing useless threads complaining it's very hard.
Agree with the above. Rooting was the easiest part of starting to install a custom rom onto your galaxy s2
Funny though, how only you have a problem with rooting and everybody else is getting by somehow...
Have you tried looking in the sticky rollup, how about the huge guide on how to root your device?
If you take a moment to look at the stickies, everything you need is right there
Is the OP really complaining about too much documentation?
Whoa.
In 5 minutes you can have root, custom rom and kernel installed... :good:
Flash custom kernel (Siyah for example) via Odin to get root, recovery...
Download any custom rom, put it on internal SD, wipe (if needed) and flash it via recovery...

New users are like this:
2 minutes to read instructions/download kernel and odin + 15 seconds to set PDA and press start + 10 seconds to flash + 20 seconds to boot the phone + 1 day wondering wtf is the Superuser app.
I can symphathise with you, when you 1st get to this forum it is a bit confusing, but what i did was just find a thread with Root and Firmwares in one and its been smooth sailing since. Just take some time off and read the stickies.
Failpost is fail.
It is hard on start. Read at least the stickies and 10 first threads of major subforums. Above links are also great for rooting. If you want a universal method for your ics phone, just look at the guide linked in my signature

Lazy OP! Wish you were with a HTC phone and said those words, it would be close to legit then!
With Samsung, and it takes you more than 3 days just to root? Pure BS!
Anyways, to answer your Q, flash any CF-kernel matching your firmware! And flash your preferred ROM!
Ok that's enough OP bashing....
I'll just leave this here........

Use this picture as a referance what you should take , so you have to take install zip from sdcard. This should be the 4rd or the 5rd line. Then apply it. After that , choose the second line ; this is choose .zip from sdcard.
Choose now the .ZIP which contains the ROM. Choose it. Now a single line should be different than the other lines , this will mean "Yes".Choose it and let the rom install. When the ROM is finished installing , pull out battery , put it back in and now boot.
Hope it helps.
Thank You, i tried but it fails this rom. i know to use the clock work mod but i failed to get the correct ROM. For my ZTE
