I've installed the DL30 leak and since then, i'm noticing that the phone clock lags about 20 minutes behind a day. Rebooting the phone syncs the clock for a little bit but the clock still lags after a few hours.
Under Setting --> Date and Time, Automatic is checked (use network-provided values).
I didn't have this problem before flashing DL30 and I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing it and if there is a fix out there for it.
Thanks!
I had this issue the first day I ran Froyo on my Fascinate.
I no longer have the problem.
I am not sure what fixed it, but you might try pulling the battery out and waiting 30 seconds or so before putting it back in...
Yea, I noticed this too when my alarm this morning went off about 20 minutes late.
So when is Supercurio going to start working on a Voodoo ClockLagFix?

When they get older and teenage shaped, they develop severe clock lag.
I noticed mine was lagging by about 2 minutes today. Rebooted and it corrected, for now.

Gunna to have to put some serious Voodoo on him then!
Huh... mine hasn't been like that, that I noticed. However, after I did my flashing I have restarted my phone numerous times as I did other things and just to make sure everything is running appropriately.
With that, I've had NONE of the issues others have stated in these forums.
I have that issue too. I noticed my phone was off by approx 20 minutes yesterday morning. But today it was off by almost 2 hours. I didn't notice any lag during regular phone use yesterday (but then I didn't check for lag, assuming the time was current and accurate) The lag seems to occur overnight during periods of inactivity. I suspect it is dropping the network connection to save power, thus losing time sync corrections. But for it to slip back almost 2 hours...that's some serious lag.
Download the app called "Clock Sync" its free and it synchronizes with atomic time. You can decide how often (must be at least every 3 hours).
I have rebooted numerous times and left the battery out. It seems that the clock is slow and doesn't sync up when on automatic. The strange thing is if i turn off automatic and set the time it is still slow and drifts.
If I then switch back to the automatic setting the clock is alright for a few hours.
Has anyone disabled 3g data? I had it disabled for about a day while hanging around the house then noticed the time being off. I made a call then the time corrected itself with data still being turned off. A while later it was off again. I turned 3g data back on and times been right since. I assume this is related.
What was everyone having this issue running before DL30? DJ05 or DL09?

Update: Everything seems to be working fine now. All I did was uncheck the automatic setting for a couple of hours and then re-check it.
Now I am going on a day without am issue. I did not have to reboot either.

Nevermind, the clock started to drift again this morning. Still no work around for it.
It still lags for me too. Ive restarted and pulled the battery multiple times. It started to lag when I unchecked automatic, so I checked my timezone, rechecked automatic and it instantly jumped an hour back in the WRONG direction...
I wanted to install a fresh copy of DL30, so I used ODIN to install DL09 then I installed DL30. That didn't fix it!!
Then I installed the DL30 Super Clean ROM 1.0. And that didn't fix it either.
Seems the only option for fixing this issue is to go back to DL09.

I've read a lot about people having issues with their alarms. This morning, I had the first one of those.
Alarm was set for 7.30, when I woke up around 8.30 and picked up the phone, it seemed the clock was stuck at 4.30 am and took about 3 seconds to update (not the fancy HTC clock, the one in the notification bar!). I went to bed last night around midnight and didn't touch the phone all night.
Alarm did not go off even belatedly once the clock updated. This is also not a recurring alarm issue since I only set this one last night. Also not a sound issue, the volume was up quite high and not mistakenly set to silent as has happened to some people.
Has anyone else experienced this?
(and yes, I'm still running a T-Mobile G2 stock ROM, too much of a chicken to update to the new leaked ROM! Hoping HTC will roll it out officially ASAP!))
Thanks for any input!
I've had the same problem with my Hero, and I had the same problem with my old XDA Orbit (also made by HTC) that was running Windows Mobile.
I wonder if it's a hardware issue with the way HTC interfaces their firmware with the hardware clock or something like that.
i do also have the same problem, sometimes. it helps to simply reboot the phone. i don't know why it goes in some kind of "deep-sleep", but i hope it will be fixed in the next update.
I've had the same thing (ish) but it was just a crash - I'd been installing and uninstalling apps all night, didn't reboot my phone before going to bed at 11pm. When my alarm failed to go off, I looked at the clock and it was stuck on 11.03pm and the screen wouldn't slide down to unlock, so it had crashed just after I'd gone to bed.
Since then, if ever I'm installing and uninstalling and testing apps and fiddling with settings, I always reboot when I'm done just to make sure nothing's misbehaving. Not had the problem since.
I tend to turn on the alarm each night and turn it off in the morning.
Not had an issue with it failing yet.
Not that that is the right way around it as it should go off at the same time each day when left on all the time.
But it may help if some are having a recurring issue.
my epic has all of a sudden started freezing on me. basically it goes to sleep and doesn't wake up. this happened right after i updated 3 programs in the market. Visual Desktop, EZTVdroid and handsent. i'm deleting them one at a time, but so far it keeps freezing on me. i also was playing with setcpu tonight... set it on "ondemand" but that was about 12 hours ago and this just started now. i need to do a battery pull to get the phone up and running again. i'm running Epic Experience that i installed friday... i haven't had one issue the whole weekend though.. help =(
edit: may be resolved.. seems to be setcpu issue. dont' know why it was ok for so long
my clock is all the sudden off by 24 hours and my alarm didn't work! fun fun.

There were a number of people in irc that had that issue including me *228-1 and pulling the batt for a couple of minutes got it back to normal. Had to have been a vzw glitch yesterday. At the time it happened I was using an all EB01 rom and EB01 adryn kernel. What made me notice it is when I checked my tws and it said my device had been unplugged for 1day and 2hours when I had only booted 2 hours previous to that.
good day.
I had the same exact problem yesterday. I rebooted my phone and it was fine.
I've had the problem for a while, on the last few kernels (EC10 stock, jt's custom EC10, etc). If it's plugged in, it seems to work reliably. If it's unplugged, it seems to never go off in the mornings. It's extremely annoying.
And here I thought it was just my phone that was acting wild. I thought it was weird when I looked at a text message last night and it said it was sent on 3/31. A reboot fixed the problem for me, too.
Clock sync. Get it.
I don't even appreciate it until I see threads like this. =)
My wife had that problem with her phone too. I did a reboot and it fixed it.
Reboot didn't fix mine. Apparently, time synch had been turned off. So toggle Settings/Date and Time/Automatic. Yeah it its obvious, but in my case I have zero recollection of turning it off.
My phone will randomly stop sleeping, this has happened pretty much since i've gotten it.
I will launch spare parts, running near 100%. Check partial wake lock, nope nothing. And nothing under any of the other menus in spare parts that would indicate it not sleeping. This will occur after a couple of days even after installing no apps, restarting does not fix, neither does pulling battery. It will just start happening and only way to fix is data reset / factory wipe until it happens again, but when it does start happening I might've not even be using it at the time.
Okay, i did actually finally fix it after months without factory reset, it appeared to be when 3g and Data-always enabled was ticked.

If this fixes my no sleep problem, I will name my first child after you.
I've been detailing the steps I've taken to resolve my no sleep issue on another forum, with the last action I took being a flash to factory ROM from huaweidevice.com, changing absolutely nothing on the phone for 24 hours, rebooting, and waiting another 24 hours. Without a reboot between charge/taking off charge, it would be 100% running. If I took it off charge and immediately rebooted, running would be more like 30% (ie: 'normal').
I'll give 'data-always' a go

Okay im unsure now, was all fine yesterday, woke up at 7 to alarm, lost 2% overnight. then just put it under my bed but now that i've woken up i've lost 18% because it just stopped sleeping again. I didn't do anything except turn it on check battery, and turn it off. So back to being confused again
Still having this problem, for example. It was sleeping fine when I went to bed then at some point during the night just stopped.
Running 64.6% 10h
Screen on 10ish% 45 minutes
Highest item with partial wake lock in spare parts is like 5 minutes, no other indicators.
This is happening no matter which ROM i try.
Considering a stock ROM with exactly 0 changes still has sleep issues, its clearly a firmware "thing".
For me, it happens after being taken off charge.
For e.g. Last thing before bed I check my running time, and its somewhere around 35-40%. Plug into charger. Take off in the morning, goto work etc, check my run time and its 100% even without the phone being touched.
For the moment I just downloaded one of the "root only" reboot widgets from the Market. Its just part of my morning "get ready for work" routine to hit the reboot widget and reboot my phone.
Its a bit of a PITA but until new firmware is released I cant see a way around it.

Hey don't know if you've tested it further than that. But its much appreciated, that rebooting after charging does seem to work . But just wondering, if you know... does it only do it when charging via usb (computer) or AC or does it not matter?
I have exactly the same problem.
I also noticed that reboot helps, but only for a while. If i want my phone to go to sleep mode when the screen is off, i would have to reboot it few times a day... Turning WiFi/GPS/Auto-sync on/off does not have any affect on this.

As per your suggestion via email, I tried the Malaysian firmware.... It seemed that 'running' time was down alot, but battery life was still pretty average. That was doing nothing more than installing the Malaysian firmware and entering my Google account - no root, no launcher changes, etc.
The lack of Swype was a bit of a downer too
I gave it a whirl from 6:30am to around 5:00pm and 'running' was right down in the 10% range, but battery was still down to ~45% over that time in 'pure' stock form. DAMMIT!
Ah well. It was a good thought and hopefully it worked for you I'm back on roadhound + the OTA update as of about two hours ago.
I'm going to scour the SGS forums and see if anything there can be applied to the U8800 RE: battery life improvements.

Oh yeah sorry, try using something like juice defender to disable 3g when screen is off or something. 3g radio keeps it running, but it doesn't appear to be, this will stop the battery drains.
EDIT: That does work but its not ideal, turns out the u8800 and the u8800h use the exact same radio so im not sure now, don't know if there is any possible way to figure it out.

Hey guys.
This may not really be the thing you need but I was having similar problems and running 100% on without sleeping etc and came accross another forum where this was an issue (cant remember where)and as trivial as it sounds the solution for me was to go into settings/ applications/ manage applications and running applications and go down to media storage and clear the data. I do this now and then when I have this problem and it seems to help.... Maybe worth a try? It seems to be an issue with a particular media file. I also try to reboot my phone after every charge. Note that my phone is totally stock

Thanks for advice, but unfortunately this didn't help either. For some unknown reason, my running time is again 100% although the screen is off most of the time. In Partial wake usage, Android System is in the top of the list.
Oh, Android System partial wake lock seems to be a different issue, but maybe someone can help you out. Whats happening here is running = 100% yet there is no partial wake lock held. Quite unusual

Was the CRT script based on the EI22 framework?
I got it from the EI22 CRT off thread in the theme section.
Last night I also had an odd reboot. Not like the old random reboots that would happen when the phone was asleep, this one seemed like it was caused by a GPS crash. I had been using an app that triggered the GPS, (weatherbug I think) and when I closed it, the GPS icon stayed on. Even after I turned off GPS it still stayed on. The phone also started getting pretty warm. GPS itself no longer worked. After a few minutes of trying to shut down GPS the phone locked up. A minute later it did a "partial" reboot, playing the startup sound and eventually giving me the launcher screen. It was still not running right, with the GPS icon stuck on and the phone very sluggish. I did a shutdown and restart. The phone took a long time to start up, sitting on the "big S" for a while just like on it's first startup. Makes me think something got corrupted in the cache and it had to rebuild it.
I don't know if this was just a random event or the sign of problems to come.
This was on Stock EI22, installed as an OTA upgrade over a fresh EC05 install. The only mod was the CRT off / Circular battery mod that I created at the UOT kitchen.
Well fortunately my phone hasn't done it since. Thinking back, it may have been somehow triggered from a WiFi issue as I leave my WiFi toggle on most of the time and I had just pulled into my garage so the phone obviously was switching from 3G to WiFi around that time.
I am still having a weird issue though where Launcher Pro force closes initially every time I reboot the phone ever since then.

Perhaps clearing data on LauncherPro and rebuilding the setup from scratch will solve that for you.

Tried clearing data, reinstalling, etc. Doesn't matter, still FC's immediately after reboot. Problem must be with Launcher Pro not liking something, because I just flashed CleanGB Rom (which includes the CRT-off and several other tweaks) to try it out and it does the same thing on that.
Update: Seem to have solved it, but not sure why. Had Voodoo Plus set to load module on boot, when I turned that off LP did just fine after rebooting. Decided to flip the load on boot back on to see if it would start FCing again and magically enough it hasn't.
I just had a random reboot and im in stock EI22..... Why?

Been on it since it was released, no reboots here... Working great for me.
ive had this off and on for a few days now. i find it to be caused by having multiple launcher in my case spb shell .had it running stock the first day so i flashed a rom and its still there. also other apps that use alot of resources will cause it. it partail reboots about 3 or 4 times and then runs normal.

I have the same issue with Zeam Launcher, clearing defaults doesn't seem to help. I wonder if there's some kind of half-assed check to make sure that TWLauncher is running? I dunno, but it's obnoxious considering how many times a day I'm forced to reboot EI22, added to the fact that they got rid of the deathgrip reboot.
My phone has "Randomly" rebooted on me several times, usually in an area with little signal coverage. Each time, it seems like there's some program (like Spotify or DI.FM) running that's making network calls when the signal craps out.
EI22 has been nothing but problems for me.
Just had my first random reboot. I'm stock EI22 not rooted yet. Imanually installed on the first day and this was my first. Phone was off just sittin on the table and the screen come on showing low battery but was still sittin at 30% and it shut off and the samsung screen come up and went thru the boot up process.

My Stable setting with no random reboots !!!!
After trying out virtually every rom/kernel out there (started with stock) I finally got a configuration in which I hadn't got any random reboot (or any other silly issues). My current setting are :
ROM : ERA Lagendary RC2
Kernel : Samurai 2.0.1 (inbuilt with Rc2)
Theme : Ei22Ics version 2 (just for fun !!!)
I have used Voltage control to OC it with settings : 400 Mhz minimum(recommended somewhere in dev post), 1340 Mhz maximum(~1400 mv voltage which I think maximum my handset can handle) with ONDEMAND governor.
My Epic is running flawlessly with no random eboots of FC's since last 4 days (while it used to reboot atleast 3-4 times daily earlier).
Hope this helps !!!!
Epic Timezzzzzzzzz !!!!!!
I still get random reboots in EI22, but not as many as I did on the GB leaks. I can cause a reboot by scrolling to fast in Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All. I have had the phone run for 90 hours without a random reboot so I'm happy.
Had 2 reboots over the past week, where after charging all night I pulled the usb charger cable out and it rebooted. Stock EI22 except rooted, keyboard/CWM flash, and GPS_fix.

Well I did notice it only happened on that particular charger (from Walmart)...also, my wife's epic didn't reboot, but had the charging light stuck on all day. I had to power it off and remove the battery to end it. Would that be maybe the same problem?
Been on CleanGB for quite a while. Went out of town this weekend to Chicago and ended up being rebootpalooza on my phone. Probably had almost half a dozen, once it just shut down in the middle of a phone call at the train station after the low battery notice came up, even though after I powered it back on it still had 28%. Another reboot was I unplugged the car charger shortly after the "full" indicator light came on. Others were just amazingly random. I've loved my Epic up until this trip when it turned into the most unreliable thing I've had.
