I found this very odd, and couldn't find answers to it...but everytime I send a text, I close out to my homescreen and when I go back to the message log, the last text I sent is back in the "input text" part saved as a draft...but the message has sent cause I receive replies back.
This happens EVERY time. I've tried hard reset, I've tried pulling the battery...nothin.
Anyone else experienced this?
Yes, this also happens to me. It's not a bug. When you close out of the Messaging app too fast, it will save the message as draft but it will also send it if you pressed Send. This can get quite annoying sometimes since I'm used to closing out as soon as I send.

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but I hope it is not a single problem. The issue is that sometimes when i receive a SMS, the notification shows up on the top bar. I pull that menu down, and sure enough there is a preview for the message, but sometimes if I click on the message, or go into the messaging app, that message doesnt show up in the conversation. This gets very frustrating b/c if I go back to the notifications menu up top, the new message is removed and the SMS seems to be lost forever.
I've had this issue with Handcent, ChompSMS, and also the native "Messaging" app too. Anyone else encounter this? If so, were you able to fix?
I have the HTC Dream from Rogers, rooted.

There was a issue awhile back with early hero builds dropping sms all together but I know yours is a different issue. But I have a similar problem with gtalk sometimes. Whenever someone would log off and log back on and send me a message I will see it in notification bar but not in gtalk. Thought I would throw my 2 cents in.
I wasn't even able to get SMS for some reason, I had an unlocked G1 using AT&T and SMS just didn't seem to work. I didn't know the G1 supported SMS. I'm upset now.
Best of luck for you getting your problem resolved. I would recommend upgrading but if your in the newest update release, I don't know much to say.

Whatever happened to being able to spell check sms messasges? My Exec could do it.
Also, i am having trouble writing txt messages the screen kinda just scrambles while i am typing and then will eventually come back with all of my txt displayed accurately. Anyone else got this prob?

Thanks Wacky, I had already actually read most of that thread but couldn't see anything with the same problem that I have.
Everything about my SMS is painfully slow. Just pressing the sms icon can cause the phone to lock up or even crash. Normal typing in a word doc for eaxmple is a pleasure, in an sms it's difficult.
All of sms's are sending straight away and being recieved. It's just the erratice behave that the software goes through whenever i want to send a txt

I wanted to know if there's a fix for this yet, as its so frustrating. When you get a sms, you tap the icon to read it, and then once open, tap on the message to reply to it, which opens the conversation up. You begin to reply, but then a second or two later, it goes up and highlights the previous message that person sent, and you can't see what you're typing until you tap back down to the composing window. That is so dam annoying!!!
This happens on 1.48 rom, and 1.66.

Its something to do with the hotfix for SMS reply speed up. I've just installed it and mine is doing the same (1.43 O2 ROM + hotfix)
same problem anyone have a solution.
same problem..tap more than twice sometimes. I Did installed he sms hot fix it seems to load a bit faster than in 1.48. Hope htc fixes this up...
Try to ALWAYS use the Back Hard Button (<-). I really mean always! Do not get out of an SMS by any other means...
Since I've started to do that I did not have that problem...

For some reason on my phone when i send a message and hit the home key my message always shows up as a draft in the the text box when i go to send another message.. The message sends, but still shows in my text box as a draft. Anyone have similar issues?

Quite annoying as it happens to me as well. The messaging app is really slow as well, sometimes I'll get a bunch of messages from the same people at the same time and it will just take its time going from one thread to another.
i have this problem on the stock sense rom, so its just the messaging app, not Iced Glacier...
My mother brought me her phone today with a problem that I can't figure out for the life of me. She has a Note3 and no matter what messaging app I (she) uses, for only one of her contacts, as soon as she types a message and hits send, it disappears. The person she is trying to text gets the message, and can respond without a problem, but she doesn't get the response. If I try to use Hangouts to send a text to that person it works, she can send and receive through that... What would the issue be? I have tried multiple text apps and none of them will let her text that one person......short of a factory reset is there anything I can do? I tried clearing data/cache.....
