I recently updated to DJ05 with both Super Clean .9 and Stupid Fast (Whatever the newest is.) A day later, everything is working fine except when I try to longpress to move a shortcut or widget. I receive a small vibration but no ability to move. I'm using Adwlauncher, as well.
Does anyone know what could cause this?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I have noticed the new adw launcher has an option to lock the desk top. If u press the menu soft key it may say unlock desk top. Just something to try sounds like it may be the cause

The latest ADW version kills long press. No idea why, it just does. Switch to LP or Touchwiz and you get the button back. Shortcut apps from the market have no effect. It caused me to buy LP+ and I regret not doing it sooner.
Lastly, this should be in general, not development.
ya if u mean voice search via long press of the search key it is messed up. However there is a work around for this as well. Double press the search key first to open the search then long press it to get to voice search. However in your original post it sounds more like the desktop is locked to me just unlock it and should be good

The desktop was indeed locked. Thank you guys.

Go into your apps, hit the menu button, choose edit, find what other three apps you want and drag. Them into the bottom bar, hit menu and selete save.
And next time questions go in q&a.
Go into the app drawer, click menu, edit. Move whichever apps you want into the dock.

Can't stand that annoying Voice Command app that pops up whenever you accidently double-tap the home button? Well, apparently it can be removed if you have ICS, though not the typical way.
Thanks goes out to Marrr over at AF for pointing this out.
Step 1: Install Go Launcher
Step 2: Long-press voice command in the app drawer, and when the red "x" comes up, hit it. Follow the prompt and the app will be completely uninstalled.
Step 3: Uninstall Go Launcher if you want (and delete the Go Launcher/Store folders it created in your USB storage).
It really is THAT simple!
Or just don't double tap the Home button
In a year of owning a Galaxy SII I can't say I've every double tapped the Home button by mistake

It's weird, but lately, occasionally when I hit the home button the app would just launch. It's like the device was registering a double-tap. Not sure if it was me, or a hardware issue. Either way, it was annoying and I've seen a few others complain about the same issue.
If you're not affected, then you're set. But if you are, this seems to work wonders.

I agree, I never experienced the issue and laugh when I see people complain.
I know multiple people with the S2 and none of them experience.
I admit, maybe it may be hardware; but I would think if it was hardware it would be on a larger scale. I personally think people don't realise they double tapped it.

And I laugh when I see someone who assumes that because their phone works perfectly, everyone else must have a perfect phone too.
Does this remove the double tap delay though? Always drove me mad about gs2, and I've always got rid of it as soon as I can

I agree....it is annoying. It comes up all the time when I don't want to. Anyone know the name that is appears in Titanium Backup so I can remove it?
Voice command. Just filter for "vlingo"
i have a hardware problem, when i press home button, like 30% of time the voice command will appear, but i dont want to uninstall the app, there is any other way for disabling it?

Boys install system app remover, no need for root, and uninst apps u don't need. Quicker, safer, legal ,
i had the same issue (about 30% of erroneous voice command starts). i had frozen
the app with Titanium Backup and since then had about 30% of keypress failures.
Is there a program that shows if there was a keypress or not?
Thanks for a nice tip, that voice is useless in Russia anyway.
BTW, I also can unistall readers hub in that way, why it allows me to unistall it, but I cant unistall music hub, they're seems to be both system apps.
ES File Explorer can also uninstall it.
Select the App Manager then long press on the app you want to remove, eg Voice Commamd, choose uninstall, and its gone.
Help

I don't have the problem because I fixed it.
Search for root app uninstaller, install it, and find voice talk, or viingo as it is called, and uninstall the app, so uninstall root app installer so you can't launch it by a mistake and double tap and see what's happening, now nothing happens when I double tap home button, so it's fixed.
I hope I can help other people.
Its the most frustrating app ever even more frustrating than Touchwiz. Its like whenever I press the home button around 80% of chances are that it would pop up with that annoying voice,"What would you like to do ?"
And I'm like GTFO off my device. Finally removed it using Root Explorer forever after...

Thank you very much. Just to say so I went through that buttcracking process of making like my millionth forum account, but that one was worth it. Thx a bunch, I really have a device where pressing home leads you to the voice crap in 99,456%. Now its finally fallen off board. Thx again.
removing voice command easier
you don't have to change a theme or anything like that. you should download "Smart App Protector Free" and and in the apps section inside the app scroll down until you get to "voice command". click on it and choose uninstall. that easy
You can also use system app uninstaller from the market, just go into regular apps and remove voice command.

This is an outdated thread. You can now disable the app.
I'm using the HD2 Samsung GSII Rom and I can't get the applications button to where it should be (the right side) it just stays centered. Also I can't put any other apps in the 4 other spaces next to the applications button. Any Ideas?
Attached is a screen shot.
Have you pressed the 'applications' button to go into the app drawer? Once there press 'menu' bottom left hard key. Then 'edit'. You should be able to move the button and drag others onto the dock from there.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
Is there a way to disable or uninstall the Chinese keyboard? I have no use for it.
Sorry, don't have a GSII but if it's the standard keyboard that ships with the rom then I don't think so.
Need to do a bit of searching my friend.

I take no credit for this. This is a carryover from Note 2 and I got the info from some thread in one of the forums. This worked on my Sprint N3 and I just tried it on my ATT N3 and it works also.
Sometimes I keep my phone in my back pocket and I do not want the screen to wake if the home button is inadvertently pressed. This method prevents the home key from waking the screen. Only the side key will wake the screen when applied.
Root is required, remount /system as r/w.
1) Go to system/usr/keylayout and edit "gpio-keys.kl".
2) Scroll down, look for the "key 172 HOME WAKE" line.
3) Remove "WAKE" from the line and save, reboot.
YMMV, do at own risk, make file backup, etc.
Cheers
Works on my European N3.
Only thing is, the phone now vibrates every time I press the home button with the screen on. Not sure yet if I like this.
You could just disable it in the wanam xposed app. Once you set it up, all you have to do is check a box.

As I understand, wanam is an xposed modul. It's recommended to make a nandroid backup before installing the framework and I only used CF-Autoroot so far. So I don't have a custom recovery on yet. And from what I read, if you have a backup, you cannot restore it without bricking your phone yet. I already miss the "use volume rocker to skip tracks hack" in modaco, but I don't install a Custom recovery without knowing for sure that I can restore a backup just yet. The phone is out for about 2 weeks, I was lucky to already get one and I already lost my warranty due to rooting. So I don't want to brick it. But thanks for the hint. I'll remember it and use it as soon as restoring is safe. :good:
