Perhaps you need to set up the APN manually. Go to Settings/Wireless and network/Mobile networks/Access Point Names, and add a new APN with your carrier's settings.
omg.. its a lot of settings.. how do i go about doing that
Who is your mobile service provider? Try googling "X APN settings android" X being the name of your provider.
And no need to worry about all those settings.. usually you just need to set the top 2, which for example for me are Saunalahti Internet (name) and Internet.saunalahti (APN name)
Thanks Thom47 and TS
I had the same problem and now its fixed

I am using stock build on my hd2 and DesireBuild 7.z for my android rom. I cant figure out why I cant get MMS? Does anyone have a clue? Thanks for your help!!!!!
you need to change the APN settings in networks area for your phone company.
I have an LG G2 that was originally for T-Mobile. I unlocked it and put my father's sim card inside (ATT) and he can text/call without any problems, its his data (mobile network) that isnt working. Is there settings I need to change to get the data to work and if so where are they located and what information I need to put there.
Ive been looking for a while now and google isnt any help lol.
It is rooted, it has clean-rom installed (the latest one, I think that is 1.3 and in the setup I put T-Mobile as it is a T-Mobile phone). If I have to re-install the clean-rom to ATT settings will that do it? If not will stock firmware make it work?
Hope to hear from you guys soon! My dad want to use this phone lol. THanks again!
In the settings under Network I just noticed it says under Mobile network state "Disconnected".
Nevermind sorry! I was able to find the APN settings finally and was able to find ATT apn codes.
Thanks again, please close

That is the EXACT same story with my sister's phone I did for her. I spent hours on the phone with ATT after I unlocked it and they put in the code but still no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Your operator do not recognize the phone with some roms and is unable to install mobile network settings. You have to "insert" them manually. Search in Google for the APN settings for your operator . Create new APN and insert the settings. Full path is Settings - Connections tab - More Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names - press "+" and add the new APN. Some operators have automated procedure to obtain the settings - sending special sms or with specific operator app.
Personally I think it's a matter of incompatible bootloader / radio/LTE modem. Update to a proper radio/LTE modem and all will work fine again.
Do note there are different version for old/new bootloaders.
I suggest first to see if there's appropriate APN in phone's APN list (WAP APN is not suitable) and after that to try to fix with modems, kernels e.t.c. I have that issue many times with many phones, so try what I wrote above.
Hi, I had unrooted my i9505 and updated to kitkat (02 version). I am actually on the Tesco network and I thought that is what Tesco used. The rom seems fine, along with the network in general but I cannot use any mobile data networks. Does anyone know if this is because of the wrong rom or could this be a different error?
I have searched the forum and internet for a few hours but found nothing related to Tesco GS4 roms! : I used the 02 4.3 one from here and then update via keys to 4.4.2 -

Thanks!
Tesco and o2 share the same network, but they probably have different access point settings. if you go to the tescomobile website or call support they should be able to send you some settings to ensure you have the right APN?
Are you connected to TESCO (it says TESCO in the carrier label when you pull down notifications?) Just also check that in "settings/more networks/mobile networks/access point names" that it relates to tesco and not to o2?

Started to work through these settings, forgot to try the APN. In a little bit of a pickle at the moment as I tried to flash an unbranded rom via odin and now cant boot the phone..Need to fix with kies it says but its not appearing. Think the APN was the problem when the phone (hopefully) starts working again.
Thanks!
Fingers Crossed. You should be able to use the unbranded ROM though. The only difference should be the preinstalled apps and maybe some backgrounds/branding on the boot logo etc?

Hi guys, just a quick question. I just started rooting my G935U QD2 and got up to step #16 "For Sprint MMS/DATA fix go to:" from jtash01's guide but instead of deleting Wholesale OTA APN, I deleted Global Roaming by accident. I have a feeling that I can't just edit Wholesale OTA to be APN2 LTE Internet because Global Roaming's settings are probably a bit different. I know I made a huge nooby error and I'd really be thankful if anyone had the default Global Roaming settings so I can add it in or if theres another method to fix this. Any help is appreciated!

Just hit reset to default and it should bring back the other APN.
