Open up the themes you want to edit with 7zip, winrar or some other archiver,
extract drawable-hdpi and have a look through and see what you want then
drag it into the same place in the theme your making
Most of the stuff is in :
system\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\
-framework for stock android (battery, reception, notification bar etc)
system\app\*****\res\drawable-hdpi
-apps.
system\com.htc.resources.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\
-framework and other things for htc sense (lock screen, phone buttons, app and folder icons etc.)
system\com.htc.resources.apk\res\drawable-port-hdpi\
-htc sense dock
thanks very much. I will check asap.
@esk02k , maybe I will investigate here
I have awesome theme but it contains percentage battery (you probably know already what I'm going to ask) and for reasons I've already told somewhere I'd like to change battery to standart HTC one (less stages). Due to obvious reasons I cannot use UOT kitchen to update framework-res.apk (there are no such ones).
Could you tell me what exactly shoud I change to put this battery into my theme?
I've found a lot of methods here but is change batt png's enough or is there necessary to edit something else?

No probs dude. Did u see this post here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11074394&postcount=2138
mendozinas took the time to tell me what to do.
Are you familiar with decompiling and recompiling framework?
If not i can help you out.
I was going to do one with 10 stages but then i rememberd that
the phone gives a battery warning at 14% so it must be a multiple of that.
thats why standard sense has 7 stages. heres the one i created:

Maybe but the kitchen already has it with numbers and 100 parts so im
not sure if they are going to want another one. Ill share it here tho.
Do you want me to make you one with any particular colours?
i was thinking people might want a green one to match htc sense.
its easy now with only 7 stages.
I have done 7 stages for each of these colours :

Wow, for me it could be even mix of those as they are here. They are so "mine" (girls are a bit strange, I know ).
The cyan one would fit my themes also
I would be very glad if mendozinas add at least one "less-staged" battery to UOT, because I know many people who noticed battery drain while using "percentage" one.

Hi all,
i've always been a big fan on the design of osx aqua,
therefor i decided to make a spb mobile shell theme with the same looks.
since this is the first skin i'm making for the spb mobile shell i've started on a
desing wich i found here.
"our theme - inspired by degavim & marfanuk" from that theme i'll start changing all the graphics and after that i'll try some adjusting in xml.
So far i've managed to do some testing on my Hareld wich looked great,
now i'm building all the psd files. When i'm done you will be able to download this theme here. I'll keep you informed on what i did and let you guys help me test it.

on the top right of the screen there will be the volume icon (speaker) like in
the theme i'm basing this one on. the problem i have is that the speaker on the
original theme is white, however i can't find the image for that icon in the .dat files
can anyone point them out or help me out where i can find them ?

Wow,
That looks great!
Could I make one small request, and feel free to tell me to shove off?
Would it be possible for you to leave off the Apple logo for the Start Menu, I know it runs counter-intuitive to what you are doing, but hear me out.
Apple has great design, no doubt about it, I love them, I covet their products more than a MOC Boba Fett with the kid unfriendly missile launcher, but this is a Windows Mobile Device that this theme is going to be used on. Lets keep the Windows Flag, but maybe sexy it up a bit, hell for all I care make it anything you want just not an Apple. When I hand people my phone, it happens sometimes, I want them to know it is a Windows Mobile device and that the iPhone is not the only game in town. I don't hate the iPhone by the way, I just want Winmo to get the credit it is due. Now like I said you can tell me to blow smoke, it's your design, your hard work, and thank-you in advance for creating it. I love the bottom row icons btw.

Firstly let me make clear that I have taken inspiration from SimpText by UltraLinx, you can find his thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742449
I loved the idea he had created, very simple and minimalistic, however on my Desire the icons were just too small to be useful for me. Very kindly, UltraLinx also provided the PSD file he based his icons on. From this I amended the colours, the font, the size, as well as some more font options.
The end result is as follows:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I can create more to your liking if requested
Currently there are 139 icons in 10 different colours below:
Black
Bright Red
Dark Red
Green
Light Blue
Orange
Pastel Blue
Pink
White
Yellow

They seem very nice! Definately gonna try them if you could provide a psd file
EDIT: Changed the colours a bit and they are much better than the original ones by UltraLinx, very clear and easy on the eye, thanks!

Nice find. Now lets see how we make it work!
EDIT: Looks like Fightspit has done a lot to make this ready for those willing to adopt it. The process for making this work on the Captivate appears to be up to our community.

This would be much better than having to take up home screen space with a widget that shows percentage. Plus, the stock indicator for the Captivate always shows way more battery level than is actually available.

I tried to create the mod but even though the new battery indicator is working, I am getting non-stop FC's. These are the steps I tried:
1. Decompile stock framework-res.apk using apktool v1.3.1.
2. Replaced res\drawable\stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml with the ones from Fightspit.
3. Copied all of the stat_sys_battery* to res\drawable-hdpi.
4. Recompiled using apktool.
5. Signed apk.
6. Copied to SD and then used Root Explorer to overwrite existing file.
7. Rebooted.
If someone gets this to work, I would be curious to know what steps were taken.
Hey guys, just an update, I will have this out in about 10-20min (i hope)

I am going to try it now. Thanks man.
03/08 - Updated for DevNull 1.1 (Older versions still available)
While I think some of the aftermarket battery % icons are supercool, I've been looking for something that integrates into the ROM flawlessly (or at least is close). So I decided to create my own.
PureOxygen attempts to provide a battery % icon set which (hopefully) seems like it is (and always was) part of the original Gingerbread ROM.
PureOxygen Principles
1. The readability of the % number of remaining battery is more important than the icon itself.
2. The icon should however, still give an easy to gauge, visual indication of battery life. For example, seeing an indicator showing something as 60% full seems to give a better appreciation of 60% than simply displaying the number 60%!
Flash the zip in recovery (nandroid first just in case!). If flashing devNull for the first time, boot at least once into the ROM before attempting to flash PureOxygen to avoid bootloops.
Credits:
AdamG for Oxygen/DevNull
ClassicalGas for the smooth charge definition (stat_sys_battery_charge.xml).

Sure, no problem!
A question, please, on the recharge idea. I have seen two different ways to display icons while recharging: (1) have the same flash symbol all the way, plus a minor sign indicating how far it has gone (your way); (2) an alternation of 1.5 sec of the flash sign for x% with 0.5 sec. of the load sign for x%.
While it is a matter of taste, and I actually like the (2)-nd option, my question is: what are the disadvantages of such a way, since it is far less used than (1).
Thank you for your contribution.

Please replace all the GREEN with BLUE as in your other Gloss theme. Love these teaser pics posted here...pleaese keep going...looking forward to alpha release
Maybe add some AOSP touch? like transparent white notification? and I really liked your gloss blue sense launcher-so maybe use that? Or maybe something with a Slate/espresso style launcher...
Well,this is really thoughtful of you m8,tnx
But what users want is max customization,i.o.w. different options,not just 1 totally re-done (red,for example) theme.The options for the user to choose what he wants from a number of options (like a built in mini-kitchen into the ROM)? would that even be possible.? ...cuz that would be amazing!
Definitely get rid of green . Blue and more blue plzzzz
i would like a black flip clock with animation carbon style, simple black, something like that...
get rid of the green is also a good idea hehe
also make the dialer pad dark
fly-in animations, circle battery, coloured icons... i like that
my favourite theme is this one for insertCoinHD, would like to see something out of it in a 2.1 theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12021611&postcount=6680
@esk02k
Can you make minimalistic theme? Something like LUCID for CM7 but for LeeDroid 3.0.2
Ok ill be working on it today. Ill get rid of the green
And see how the dialer looks. Was just finishing work
Yesterday when I made those buttons but should have a
Good bit of time today. Ill keep you posted and upload
Bits and bobs for you to try.
The dialer, feedbacks please :
Cool i like it
OO i like! sadly I've gone back to CM7 as i experienced too many bugs in the ROM for my preference. I'll use it again once i feel things are ironed out...

a secondary rom. ive started theming it now so id better finish the
job.
Hmm, IMHO at least numbers should be blue also. They are not visible enough as they are now.
