Sprint apk's - Epic 4G General

I hate to ask this, but a while back I saw a thread with download links for sprint apps. Somehow when I went to nebula (awesome rom) titanium wouldn't restore sprint apps. Every search I try won't bring this thread up and I'm sure someone knows where it is. Please advise
Thanks!

If you need one that's EXT4-compatible, ptfdmedic has it on his blog. It's in the list on the left-hand side.

There's a download link for Sprint apps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907308
First post, halfway down. Not sure if they are apk or a zip etc though.

Ah, maybe that's why Titanium couldn't restore them. Didn't consider the partition compatibility.
Thanks!

Any apk will work on an ext4 partition,it the update.zip that needs to be compatible if your using cwm3. So titanium should work even if you backed it up on an rfs system,Im pretty sure of this.

OK, that's good to know. I just download the EXT4 version even though it may not be different at all. The three I installed worked fine either way.

People having trouble downgrading from cm7/miui

if u ever wanted to downgrade to a 2.2 rom but dont want to odin to stock JFD this is a workaround download the update script below, open the rom go to META-INF/com/google/android and delete the one thats in there and put the one u downloaded in there instead, u may have to extract the rom first and then re-package it depending on what program your using. good luck
EDIT:extract the updater out of the zip file
wht download below?
Does your script account for the fact that the miui/CM7 Tom's kernels only see mtd mount points and not the Samsung bml mount points?

Just use Odin, don't shortcut it. The OP here has a very very basic idea of the reason and necessity to change these files, and has not provided a complete set of steps in two different "guides" he has posted here, and nobody has been successful as per the reports.
Bottom line, save both yourself and dev in the future a headache, and just use Odin.

If you already downloaded it on your g2, the apk file should be in data/app
You need a Root explorer like 'ES File Explorer' for it to acces the map.
Or isnt that your question?

My apologies TRM. I was at work when I saw that and didn't get to read up on it. Thank you for removing the link.
Exactly why I didn't realy want to use it.
I got es file explorer and went into /system/app directory but it only shows the stock apks. It doesn't show the downloaded apks from the market... all the settings are enabled for root visibility... what am I doing wrong?

Afaik I don't think you can just grab them. There are means of obtaining the apk files which I won't talk about, and don't PM me about it. Now, if you want those said apks for backup purposes, just install titanium backup.

I use a certain app from market that allows you to pull the APK of an already installed app so you can sideload on another device. My particluar use is taking apps that aren't available for my tablet from my phone and transfering it over (Tiny Tower, Contacts, etc...)

Unfortunately Sprint has said point blank there won't be an official ICS for it thanks to Touchwiz. The phone can run ICS just fine (IE the very snappy CM9b1 I'm running right now) but the ICS+Touchwiz combo is too heavy for it, according to them, and they aren't willing to put out an update to ICS without Touchwiz.
So if anyone did anything to your cereal.. it's them. (It irritates me more than a little bit too)

It is Samsung that said that and it is due to their BML partition. Thrte is no room for the ICS OS in there. That is why our DEVs put it on MTD. Samsung won't attempt a partition and file system change for all the Epic owners via OTA...that is tech support suicide.

So true about the hellish nightmare that would be sprint support if they did attempt to roll out an OTA MTD switch.. god my head hurts just thinking about it.. it's sad that Samsung has to be different and not use MTD like several other manufacturers.
ICS for epic touch stock with tw is in the ballpark of like 350 MB.

Make sure you accept the notification to "Download" the update. Right after its done, it will again notify you if you would like to "Install" the update. DECLINE it, and try checking the cache again.

Updated build.props for el30 (and legendary) roms! Updated with flashable zips!

If you were already getting the update message before flashing or pasting this file YOU MUST CLEAR CACHE AFTER PASTING OR FLASHING!!! That will clear the ota download from your phone and it won't be downloaded again after the build.prop edit!
Clean GB MTD 1.1.2 > http://db.tt/BfUir1kc.
Flashable- http://db.tt/OVjJAZw0
(If running bml version open the file after downloading with a text editor and change any mtd to bml and then replace in /system)

Legendary 2.2 ei22 > http://db.tt/Jq2i1TMX
Flashable > http://db.tt/usbR2lg1
THANK YOU DARKIERAWR for throwing these in flashable zips.... if you see a post of his around HIT THANKS!!!

You know you have to make this flashable in CWM. If people don't know how to edit the build.prop they are not going to be able to install this in system either without lots of guidance.

[Request] Stock Samsung Apps Dump

So at first i thought all this bloat was just bs. But after some things i've checked out some apps i kinda wish i still had some of the Samsung apps. Unfortunately I'm a fool and instead of freezing i just deleted from Tibu.
Any help?
Did I post in the wrong section?

I have actually pushed this to my device and verified its working. I did this by "stop"ing the Android runtime, using the internal "SD" with adb push and some for loops then an adb reboot. I will not provide more detailed instructions.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TRY UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
I hope other ROM developers can use this as a base once we have a safe way to restore soft bricks.

I'm definitely new in the game but just wanted to clarify this statement. I disabled a bunch of the bloatware apps prior to rooting my S4 today. The only app I deleted using Rom Toolbox Lite was ChatOn before deciding it wasn't a good idea to remove anything instead of just leaving all the bloatware disabled.
I went back and re-installed ChatOn and ChatOn Voice & Video Chat through Google Play / Market and S Voice seems to be working just fine. I saw another thread that said uninstalling/deleting ChatOn would affect S Voice but I'm not seeing this effect. Was re-installing ChatOn through Google Play store vs Odin or Kies a waste of time?
Still learning here, any feedback is appreciated.
Edit: I ended up just doing recovery through Kies to ensure the stock apps were restored appropriately and made sure not to disable ChatOn this time. Just curious why S-Voice worked for me after having rooted and deleted ChatOn but others had issues with this.
