You could try flashing different radios, as that tends to provide different results in signal strength.
I am having signal reception issues as well.
Which radio roms are good for reception?
I facing the same problem as well..appreciate I'd someone can suggest a better way.^ ^

Any of the great team developers looking into this as its becomming a very common problem with this fantastuc phone?
Is it just the latest Jellybean release ? would i be better going to an older version of Android/Rom?

I cant seem to find a radio rom.
I have tried ICS and jellybean and both are awful on the vodaphone network.
The same phone with the same flash works perfect on T-mobile.

That would be nice
great, where can I grap it?
it's from the original china mobile P860, but i'm worried about the rip of 3G, because there is no 3G in China right now.
by the way, how to dump the radio existed in a phone, and write it back.

hi, dumping the OS means you dump the whole ROM. you can do that, and i'll help you to extract the radio out.
BTW, China has run 3G for quite a few years now. As a matter of fact, they've been testing the world's first 4G there!

I have this radio and think it's garbage. Half the time I have no signal at all and the other half only one or two bars.

Any idea for an upgrade?

Did you flash any other ROM/Radio before? A lot of people have this issue, try out the Murata Radio, maybe it helps you... you can find it in one of the two Poll Threads.

No, the phone had the current Bepe ROM in it when I bought it. The store flashed it. Will check the Murata radio as you suggest. Thanks!

k, then I guess, the previous owner flashed it and noticed the signal reception was low and so he sold it =) chances are high that you will get the original reception strength back

hi,
just a fact i want to share. early this year o2 delayed shipping of the cruise because of radio issues. my O2-TC is performing great all the radio related tasks. So do not touch your radio.
touch the rest of your TC.

No, not quite. The phone was for the HK market, had Wifi installed in the ROM, but I wanted one with an English language ROM, but with support for traditional Chinese. The store I bought it from brand new in Shanghai flashed it with Bepe's ROM.
Confused yet?
The store says the reception is dodgy because China only has 2.5G coverage and I should switch to 2G mode while in-country. I think I would like to try another radio ROM if the success rate is high.
Could we have a radio thread please that lists T-Mobile compatible radios?
I think the stock radio is not that good. I would like to try a newer and hopefully better radio for better battery life and reception.
Here are all the radio roms that work well (tested by me) and are safe to use. Sometime later I'll upload them to a FTP server for you to be able to download them directly, however, for now, visit this page:

http://www.4shared.com/dir/RFg27UmU/Radios.html
WARNING- DO NOT USE 2.04.50.x OR 2.05.50.x - They WILL brick the tmous.
2.06.50.x
2.07.50.x
2.08.50.x
2.09.50.x
2.10.50.x
2.11.50.x
2.12.50.x
all work on tmous phones
I have 2.08.50.08_2
Is that a good version or should I switch to something else? Don't know if this effects it but my HD2 is unlocked on AT&T's service.
battery and signal results vary from person to person, phone to phone. you just have to suck it and see.
2.09.50
well i am using the 2.09.50 and seems to have a good signal and battery is good so far. will continue to test. will post my full opinion monday.

lol. Did that because the stock radio seems to suck.
Also did not want to brick the device.
Edit: Nevermind
2.09 is the one released with 2.11 stock rom. i run this radio and reccomend it to match the 2.11 base in my rom.
So far it performs well in all respects.
i have been using Radio 2.10.50.08_2 and been getting excellent results. i run bt all day all night with 3g and i have 5 email accounts that send/receive every 5 min with all the other sense stuff running update as soon as possible and i am having my battery last all day compared to half a day.
if you want i will upload all the working TMOUS radios that are compatible so everyone can grab it from this section.

It doesn't even drain the battery faster.
I use 2.12 cause 2.14 had a lot of battery drain with my Rom and android build combo. I didn't notice any great reception improvements either. Try it and see what works for you,

My 3G data connection stability improved with 2.14
with 2.10 I have to reset 7+ times a day (switch to airplane mode)
Now less than 3 times a day with moderate usage

2.15!!!!!!!!!! slightly better than 2.14 better voice, signal is stronger and more reliable, and better battery life!!!! search for 2.15!!!!! data disconnects are about maybe 2 or 3 times
Thanks Guys.
2.14 it is then.
Regards
Mark.
I hated 2.15.5 because of the battery drain. I get good reception with all the radios but for my money 2.12.5 has the best battery life.

When you first turn on your phone, you will notice 3 lines of red text. One starts with an R: and next to that is your radio number. Alternatively in WinMo you can find it in the settings at the bottom in the software info!

Sound too loud in the earpiece
I recently installed NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA V2.7 on my HTC HD2.
I love it.
But sometimes the voice in my incoming calls is too loud. It feels like the speakerphone is on and I cant turn it down to a reasonable level.
I understand the radio is what controls this issue, isnt it?
My current radio is 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14. I understand it is the latest in this department.
Anything else could be the culprit?
Hi Guys,
Firstly let me make it clear, I am no dev, just a 'ROM dabbler' if you will. I have minor programming experience but a good understanding of what goes into custom ROM development and more than appreciate the efforts by devs that allow me to demonstrate why my HD2 is (in the words of Mr Sheen) BI-WINNING.
I am using HyperDroid-CM7-v2.0.1-GregariousGreyhound ROM and love it, apart from the GPS issue. I rarely use GPS but knowing my phone isn't working perfectly like it did with Froyo, WM6.5 and WP7 (well almost) gets to me.
1.) In a nutshell... Why is Cyanogen7 released with no working GPS when people seemingly have fixes for it and previous versions of Cyanogen had GPS?
2.) cyanogenmod.com is so clean and official like I feel it should be the most stable Gingerbread ROM available but this GPS issue has put doubts in my head. Are the ROM releases with GPS fixes one step ahead?
Please unleash your knowledge and opinions on me.....
Cheers

yeah but...
Thanks for the link guys, I now have GPS working perfectly!
My question still stands though. Why do good ROMS like Cyanogen7 not get shipped with the GPS fix?
hahaha i dont know, gps working fine with me some times slow, but still working ... we hope they make the perfect rom some day haha
It's not a CM7 issue, it's the lack of agps support that was the problem. Tytung GPS Libraries obviously correct that issue and there you have working GPS

Ok, bare with me.... so the GPS libs are part of the radio and not the rom so we are talking about modding the radio. Is that correct?
