Hello , i have huge problem with my Samsung Galaxy S.When i turn on wifi , my galaxy s freezes , and only 1 way is to reboot telephone , or take battery out
I dont have this problem at home.When i use wifi at home everything seems to be ok it can easily connect to my router .Problem starts when i go to shops/schools when i want to connect to others wifi my galaxy just freezes :/.
Originaly i bought it with android 2.2 , i had the same problem with wifi.
I installed android 2.2.1 - also the same problem .
During last weekend i installed darky's rom 9.1 and it didnt help
Do u have any ideas what to do , or just my galaxy s is broken and i hae to get it back to samsung tech center ?
Have you ever done a factory reset on the phone? If not that may help otherwise it may be hardware related. Since 2.2.1 have not had a single problem with wifi.

Yes i was trying factory reset few times also i was trying to clean cache , problem still exists
Sounds like possible password problem, delete all your passwords and wifi connections .
Reset up home connection then try external where you have the password and a strong wifi signal .

I deleted my wifi profile , and problem still esists when im trying to find wireless networks in shop galeries etc..
I have almost the same problem but it happens with voodoo and not speedmod and when I turn it off
Today i made total wipe of my galaxy i downgraded it to official clean I9000XXJPU without any speedmods voodoo , i'll let u know tomorrow results .If it won't work ill try to use I9000XXJPX than ill test clean I9000XXJPY.Ill let u know my results .

Nop i don have password , my galaxy s just keep freezing while searching for wireless networks ( secured , non secured ) . When im at home , i can connec tto my router ( secured with password ) without any problems .
So its not a connection problem then .
But a WiFi search problem .
Time for it to go back to Samsung then .

Problem solved !! but i had to give back my Galaxy S to Samsung service :/
Problem was mainboard - number of part A/S ASSY-PBA MAIN_GT-I9000(COMM_8G)_SVC .

Having problems connecting to the university's wifi
there are a few networks, some secure (802.1x and enterprise wpa(?)), one is open
At times, even when in areas of strong signal, the phone wouldn't connect
to any of the networks, or it would start to connect and then fall out
and start looking for other networks, even when there are other, it would usually not connect to any of them and continue wasting my time
if I have a 3G data plan, i wouldn't even bother, but unfortunately, I don't...
how do I fix this?
your having problems connecting to the secured ones ?
ive had the same problems , heres the thing :
my guess is ur uni has numerous routers with same ID , ur phone pairs some info to that ID , and if u wanna connect to another router with the same ID , it wont work.
heres what to try :
next time ur having the same problem with "good signal - no connect" , just detete(forget) ur unis wifi profile , re-scan re-enter ur id/pw , and it should work .... till u try yet another router , its a pain ...

What ROM are you using with what kernel? Highly probable this is a kernel problem. Tytung r6 for instance does not have this problem. This kernel is delivered in for instance the TyphooN Rom on TyphooN CyanogenMod 7.
v2.4.1: Updated to tytung r6 kernel. This fixes IEEE 802.1x/EAP authentication support as well as native tethering.

That's the problem. Either flash to another ROM or find out how to flash another kernel.

I find A solution (not THE solution) : reinstall the ROM and it's work find until the next time...
the reinstall doesn't RAZ anything, so it's 2 mn time

So few days ago I had the Problem that my phone hadnt any connection ( I couldnt phone anybody etc.) Fortunately i got my connection workin again by flashin an EMG4 Stock Firmware on my phone , via Odin
But now i've got an new problem. When i activate my internet i only got the worst connection (EDGE) but i'm sure i have enough internet left from my Provider !
My IMEI is corrcet
If it helps I'm from austria and im using the "3 Network"
My Rooting permissions are gone, since i flashed the EMG4 firmware on my phone
I Hope you can help and I'm looking forward to get a answer soon
PS:if it helps my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s3 (GT-I9300)
PPS:i I didn't flashed a modem , actuallay i dont know what a modem is ! In only put a file in the PDA section!
NEW: I rooted my phone again now it haves root permission but , my connection still is bad

I picked up a Galaxy S4 Gt-i9505 from a friend to fix but I can not solve the problem. The problem is in Wifi and Bluetooth that stopped working .... I tried applying various custom ROMs and still did not work ... I've tried with Stock ROM with Odin and still did not work. Really do not know what to do, you're missing me swap the motherboard S4 now. But dont want to spend that much money. Some may say if there is any solution to solve this problem of Wifi and Bluetooh without replacing the motherboard
I think that there has to be a hardware problem when you've flashed that many ROM's and always went to factory reset.
I'd give it in for service (after having stock rom on it)

Not sure about the bluetooth but did you check this :
Open the built.prop
search for ro.securestorage.support
If it says true , change to false
Save and reboot
or
Turn off Wi-Fi power save mode on your S4
Type *#0011# on the phone dialer, then Menu Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi power save mode to Off.
In I9500 we had a similar problem and the only solution was to flash the param.bin file. BT did not work and WIFI direct did not work ( my case) after flashing it my problem was solve....

Did you have the entire motherboard replaced? Or did try any other method?
is there any code for bluetooth like wifi. beacuse my bluetooth is not turning on

Please give us more detail , what happen when you try to connect , did it ever work? , what have you tried so far ? when it started ....
whenever i try to turning on the icon is going grey then after some second in going off. Its working 1 month ago fine but i did not use a month now i use is not turning on . I have tried different rom and also do factory reset but problem is same.

Try to clear data and cache , Settings/ Application manager/all / Bluetooth ....
Delete BT config and pair device again

Did you also re configure ( pair) the bt devices?
if so you could
Check the hardware ( antenna ) maybe is a connection lose or is defective
Or you could try to reflash (odin) stock rom again and see if it helps ...backup first included the efs
how i check hardware antena connection..???

I refurbished my s4 i9505. I found the phone no longer pick up wifi signals further than a few meters away from the device.
i thought it might have been the antenna cable but it was not.

extract the NON-HLOS.bin file from the ROM and use Odin to flash it separately by placing it in Phone or CP(newer version of Odin)
Untick auto reboot before flashing
wait for it to finish, then unplug your device and reboot manually.

looks like its not writing on that file should save the names and passwords ! i dont know i guess that but i dont know how to fix this problem

Probably factory reset. Then don't restore the wifi password from Google account. Sometimes that will fix it.

i tested that b4 u add the google account
on phone start up i skiped all accounts import .
could somebody on earth help me ?

Try first to update your BL and Modem.
If it not help, i suggest you to flash Imperium Kernel v2.8 thru Philz recovery.
It will trick knox to 0x1, but it should works

I done that and now the phone's WiFi cannot be switched on anymore (WiFi switch stays gray and cannot be turned on).
Is there anything I can do other than a factory reset or flashing phone?
Can anyone zip up those 3 folders and post them here?

Do you have any custom recovery (CWM,TWRP,etc) ?
Don`t you have any backup (Nandroid) ?
If so , then restore the back up through the recovery.
If , not , then I think you`ve to flash stock firmware through Odin (at your own risk).

After 10 second was off again and the switch button is grey again. I am on stock 6.0.1 and not rooted. I think is a hardware problem probably the wifi+bt chip has some unsoldered pad to motherboard.

I don't think it is hardware problem. Restart and fully charge your phone and try to turn on wifi. Maybe you have some application (battery saver and similar) that prevent you to turn on wifi.

That is out of discussion. I flashed the phone with odin with 2 diferent stock firmwares. The same is happening.

I'd take it into a Samsung Service Center and let them have a look at it. As there is obviously nothing you can do to repair the problem yourself.

I will try to repair it tonight by myself because i dont have guarantee anymore. I will post here the result maybe we can repair this error.
i tried last night . I heated the wifi chip until i was able to move it slowly and the let it cool. Surprise after reasembly wifi was working ok all night and today at work i saw the same problem .
I think we must change the wifi chip but i cannot find it to buy... Any help ? Anyone knows an app or something similar to see if the chip is detected by motherboard? I think it must be detected if the mac adress of the wifi board is displayed...
