Hello everybody,
I came from a nrg on a leo512.
I have installed MAGLDR 1.11 in order to use Android in my NAND.
But I've some random reboot from my device and most of them are when I'm standby mode when I woke up the morning the phone asks me for the pin code...
It's strange when I boot I saw in first for 1-2 sec NRG bootscreen before MAGLDR...
That's why I'm wondering If you think my HD2 NAND is clean ?
Should I make a task29 ? I heard that tools earses all the data...
All your helps are welcome !
Regards
ditto
I have this problem also..
Norwegian HD2..
I have tried quite a few radios.. plowing through all the available radios as we speak.. if i get a reboot i flash a new radio in hope of figuring out the problem.. the weird thing is i dont get this while using WP7... i get reboots in all other OS.. a quick fix for the SIM lock annoyance is to disable PIN code but does not fix the problem itself.. anyone have any thoughts on what this may be?

This is normal.
The custom ROM you were using has flashed a custom boot screen. As MAGLDR is installed AFTER this in the chain (Boot1->Magldr->Radio & NAND), it does not alter the screen. You can actually install a custom boot screen to replace this. Check Here for some.
As for the reboots, check the sticky link in my sig. There is a FAQ in there which may offer some help.
Also try post 2 of THIS
looks promising

Update: Ended up on 2.11.50.20 and its been 20 hours since i flashed the radio.. still no reboot... looks promising, ill update if the situation changes...
Update: 2.11.50.20 was no success, 2.15.50.04 seems to be the best radio in my case.. about 60 hours between reboots has been quite consistent
lately.. i wonder what causes this. ideas and\or sollutions are recieved with gratitude. Disabled the SIM lock so its nothing to worry about but it stil gives me headache.
Although the posts above me may be right, it seems that after I disabled over clocking on my hd2, the issue was no longer present.
As always, remember what your mommy taught you; it's proper to say "please and thank you".

I tried this solution, but it didn't resolve anything. I'm using mdj's cyanogen mod 2.6 with the latest radio and magdlr 1.13. I' m not using set CPU anymore. I was using it to underclock the phone and I was still getting restarts. The phone's temperature did not seem excessive either. This is a great phone but these restarts are making it almost useless. I'm at a lost here.

Like I said, it works for some of us. I haven't had any rebooting issues, after I turned of the automatic network selection. Some Norwegians fixed this issue, by turning of the 3G. You could try removing the sim-card and leaving the phone at sleep mode for few hours, in order to see, if your phone is still suffering from the random reboots. If so, the problem is somewhere else and I can't help you with it, because I haven't had such issues.
I resloved the issue by sending the phone back to HTC and having the mainboard replaced. Now the phone is working exactly as it should.

hi all, long time viewer first time poster, i have been reading many post on the net trying to find a definite answer on my tmous hd2 but with no luck. My problem started when i was running android (sandisk mirco sd, yes i know the incompatibility issues, it came with the phone). I was playing music through headphones while charging and suddenly the phone froze with a buzzing sound until i battery flipped, first thing it did when i started it back up again is vibrate approximately 5 times at boot flash screen (indicating excessive heat?), so i battery flipped again and waited 10 mins then i tried to start again and it just froze at boot screen, it would keep doing this and every now and then it will boot to wm, but sooner or later it will freeze in wm and then have booting problems, its still doing this today after doing all the following: 1.flash another custom rom. 2.flashed another radio. 3.task 29. 4. flashed stock rom & radio. 5. flashed nandroid 6.tried different capacity and brand sd cards & none at all.
I now have a hd7 because I couldnt fix it and didnt want to shed the cash they are still asking for a hd2, but i do want to fix the phone to play around more with it, i did look at the possible solution unbrick with jtag thread but im thinking the phone is perma bricked, when it was working it has had alot of custom rom flashes so i dont know if that makes much a difference but i would greatly appreciate some advice, THANKYOU XDA FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Please mention your RADIO, HSPL and the last Android Rom in which this happened!
If your phone is booting, it's not bricked. Did you try another SD card? Have you tried doing a low level format on your SD card? If it were me I'd Format the SD card with an adapter on my PC, low level. Then I would put it back in the phone then run Task29. Then flash MAGLDR 1.1. Then Flash the CMY 1.4n Desire HD Nand build in the HD2 Nand Android Development forum. It's the most stable Nand build up there right now.
I would use the 2.15 radio that comes with the newest Tmobile ROM. You might have to download the 3.14 ROM from Tmobile and flash it first to get the Radio in there. Then Task29 after that. MAGLDR, Then the NAND build. Make sure you find the Task29.exe that doesn't have a radio paired with it. it's on this site somewhere.

hd2 running MIUI freezing up too
I'm a complete noob here so bare with me. I'm currently experiencing the same probs as lewy255 with the hd2 freezing up. It happens every now and then when I'm accessing certain apps. When the hd2 does freeze up, i have to take the battery out, wait, then boot up again. Once it tries to boot up it freezes on magldr, then i got to take out the battery again, wait, then power it on again. It seemed to happen when i first rooted my hd2. The first ROM i flashed after rooting was typhoon CM7. Currently have:
HSPL 2.08
radio 2.15.50.14
MIUI version: 1.5.27
I hope this isnt a hardware issue cause i bought this phone from one of my friends and he didn't have the receipt. Please advise on what i can do to fix this freezing issue.
Thanks
Sounds like cpu overheat freeze. When you were playing music and charging it the first time it froze, was the phone and/or battery hot?
It's very possible that it got too hot once, and now the cpu its self gets too hot much easier now that it has already happened once.

Cpu overheat freeze? So its a hardware issue? What if I ran task29, and reinstalled magldr, clockworkMod, and then MIUI, do u think that would fix the freezing issue?

No I do not think that will help your situation. I think your HD2 is starting to show signs of hardware break down. More specifically a breakdown in the connection of the processor and the main board. The only permanent if this is the case is to replace the main board.

I tried installing setCPU and adjusted the temperature setting so if got too hot then the speed of the phone would be reduced, but still no luck.
What if i unrooted the phone and put everything back to stock? I think that way i will know for sure that its a hardware issue. I dont know much about phones but your probably right. I'll try running task29 and reinstall everything and see if that works, if not then i will un-root and put everything back to stock and test.
Is it an undervolted kernel? Might cause problems, but I'm with mac here on it being a hardware problem, since you flashed back to winmo stock and you still had problems.

in my opinion and its just my opinion, but you should flash a winmo 6.5 build than boot android from sd its safer because theres no need to worry about battery dying in magldr. and if theres a nand rom you want to try out i suggest using port a droid. im using now with the new nexus 2.8 with a 1gb data.img and it runs great plus i have 3 other builds on there also.
Last night I installed Gingerbread 2.3.1 on my HTC HD2.. Followed the directions exactly and was able to boot Android and customize and had no problems. Tonight, suddenly my buttons at the bottom (home button, start menu, back, etc) started flashing -- side note: if anyone knows why this happens and how that can be stopped please let me know!! --, I figured I would just restart my phone. Well, when I restarted, suddenly I had no service when I booted Android.
I have rebooted my phone in the different methods (reboot, recovery, and bootloader), tried powering it off and then turning it back on, tried putting it on airplane mode (dunno why) and then back off, took out the battery and sim and waited for 20 min and then put it back in... Nothing has had any luck.
When I boot Windows Mobile, I have a phone signal, but for some reason when I'm booting Android, it isn't there.
Anyone else have a similar problem or can suggest how to fix this? I really want to be able to continue using Android but that's not going to happen if it continues to have this problem...
Flash official windows again, then try NAND Gingerbread 2.3.4 Its great ROM and all works.

try a different rom, the flashing buttons was common on early builds of gingerbread
i take it you are using an sd version rather than nand ?
Try switching to 2G only and see if your signal is back.

Yes, I'm using SD version... To be honest, I didn't really know the difference, but from what I was told NAND basically erases Windows, right? If that's correct, I was afraid of the installation not going right and being stuck without a working phone.

I tried going to my settings to switch to 2G, but at first it was greyed out, so I couldn't even select it. Then I clicked Access Point Networks and went back and suddenly it was available to be clicked. I clicked it and went to another screen and for some reason decided to go back to check it and it had been unclicked and greyed out again....
Seems it's a problem related to your rom and not a hardware problem because it works on wm.
Im not familiar with SD roms, maybe you should try a different SD rom or a NAND rom and see if the problem is solved.
Hope u get it sorted !
Since it seems I just need to try a different rom, can anyone suggest a link? I think I want to try SD again just because if I'm having these problems I don't want to completely wipe Windows and not have something to resort back to if I run into something again..

Honestly I don't want to NAND it because I don't want to completely wipe Windows in case I have a problem again... (this is all assuming I understand NAND correctly)... Right now I have a problem so I was able to go back to Windows Mobile. Do you have any suggestions for another SD rom?
Not quite true. You can always go back to Winmo from Android Nand if you are unhappy with it. I used to think the same way but since taking the plunge I've always found it easy to reinstall Winmo in order to use my tomtom navigator
ROM wise there are various fantastic offerings with Android Nand. Some are even spotting the new sense 3. You can try either CoreDroid or LeoRC Mix.
For now head over to the Nand section and read the stickies at the top. There are ample and easy guides on how to prepare your HD2 for a Nand Rom and how you can return to Winmo if you don't like it. If you follow the instructions properly, trust me nothing will go wrong.

Hey guys, I need some quick suggestions if anyone has it. Currently I have a non working phone.
I have been running an ICS NAND rom on my hd2 for a while now, havnt had any issues (a few niggles with the rom, nothing major) so I thought today I would update to the latest version.
I used the hd2toolkit to resize the partition to the biggest size it would allow, then used ad recovery to flash the new .zip to the nand. This is where my problems started, whenever i booted it just showed the boot animation, (I waited over an hour and pulled the battery out and re booted / reflashed a few times).
I found with a differnet rom i tried, pulling out the SD car would allow it to get to the welcome screen, but no screen input was accepted. I thought this was a bit weird but pushed on. I tried a different rom and it stated after flashing that it was optimising applications and looked like it was stuck in a boot loop. I did some reading up about it and found that task29 should help. I ran this but then all the phone would do is show the green HTC on the white background, it wouldnt let me to get into magdlr menu.
I then decided to to a full restore and go back to the wm rom from th HTC site (The australia telstra version), this seemed to flash on fine, but now I can not slide or click buttons in wm, no screen input is accepted. Which is strange as it was doing this in an android rom, as I mentioned previously.
Any ideas on how I can get touch working / get a NAND android rom to work again.
Thanks in advance guys
First verify that you have hspl installed by powering on while holding vol down button to get to bootloader screen
Go back to the hd2 nand toolkit
1.task29
2. Select either cLK repartition or Magldr repartition and select size for your rom (not the maximum size). 200 mb is fine for ics using sdext partition.
3.Select magldr update recovery or cLK install recovery depending on your selection above.
4. Reboot phone by pressing power and holding to get to magldr or power and home button to get to cwm recovery.
5. Install ICS from sd card as before
Thanks for the help, I had to flash a different radio version to get magdlr to boot.
I now have android running of my NAND, but the screen is non-responsive now, as it was yesterday.
I doubt it is hardware related, because I have never had an issue before yesterday when I wanted to change the android version, any ideas how I could get it working?
Make a backup and then repartition again using HD2 toolkit. Maybe you got a bad download or something. Seems simple but it does happen. To me if I didn't know you choose the biggest it would sound like the partition wasn't big enough. Maybe try a cyanogen ROM since it reguires very little partition size and report back if successful.

I just tried this rom and still no deal. This is very weird as I haven't had any issues with the screen at all, the phone is still in new physical condition.
Does anyone want to have a stab in the dark, as I really need to use it as a GPS tomorrow and any help would be appreciated.
Tell me what the steps you take to install a new ROM. Do you have MAGLDR or clk? Have you task29 yet? Are you sure your using the right partition? Are you using nand or sd Android?
If all else fails maybe check out this thread to reinstall
MAGLDR and then cwm. I've had problems in the past installing HyperDroid without
wiping my SD card first. Maybe check out this nand ROM instead or Coredroid found in my signature.

When installing a new rom, I have resized the magdlr partition, then copied the .zip to the sd card, then in ad recovery installed the zip through there. This has worked fine in the past. I followed the videos you have linked and I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right and yes ive used task29 several times. In AD Recovery every time it states that installation has been successful. I have also formatted my SD card many times.
The ROM you linked, I can find download links on the page, not sure if I'm just missing them.
I just tried an SD card rom, its doing the same thing, no touch input is accepted.
Does NAND roms and SD roms not working imply that it could well be hardware? I just dont understand as it stopped working when I was reflashing yesterday and it was not dropped or roughly handled in anyway during this process.
I am now going to investigate MTTY (for bad blocks) and try reflashing back to original WM again. Please post more suggestions if anyone has them.
Another update: I just restored to default using the method listed below.
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/15/how-to-restore-stock-rom-on-htc-hd2-video/
It took around 40-ish minutes and still no input from the screen, this is seriously frustrating.
WM boots fine and everything, but still no input is accepted.
I'm sorry to say but if your having the same problem with all that then it sounds like the digitizer stopped working. Maybe someone else knows something I don't so I would wait to see if they could help out.

Thanks mate, I am not sure why it would have just stopped last night. Appreciate all the help! I'll see if anyone else has any suggestions.
It's not a problem. I do have to admit that it does seem pretty odd the timing of it. Hopefully it's a not the digitizer and someone would be able to point out what might be the cause of everything.

This may seem a little crazy, but after having a search online about my issue, it seems that a ribbon going to the screen / digitizer is behind the power button on the HD2s, which apparently can get loose and after a sharp press of the button it started accepting screen input again!
The issue for me now is that when the power button it will stop accepting input again, untill I press it firmly again. I think I may need to open up the phone and check all the connections now.
for some time, after restarting or turned on my leo, if I receive a call, the phone freezes and I have to restart it. but if after a reboot, I'm the first to make a call to someone else, I can talk quietly and the phone will not lock. this happens for all subsequent calls. I thought it would be a problem with the ROM I used, but also by changing the ROM problem occurs again.
What should I do?
my LEO:
HSPL 3.3 (I also tried 8.2 but I get the same problem)
radio 2.15.50.14
Bootloader CLK 1.5.0.3
ROM: Pixeldroid Jelly Bean AOPK 4.2.2 v 6.0 FINAL 20/05/2013 (with date and onext linuxswap)
thanks for your help
p.s . sorry for my english!
I was going to ask you to post your question here, in the ROM specific Q&A thread. But you said you changed the ROM and the problem is still there.
Try a fresh install, remove everything, install a new ROM and BEFORE restoring your apps or setting up the phone, try to reproduce the problem. It could be because of one of your apps, or one of the settings.

Unfortunately, even after a fresh install, my LEO crashes when I receive an incoming call.
Moreover , i have no badblock
Your problem is weird. I have just made a search, and found about two people with a similar problem, but with a dead end, i.e. not answered.
I see that you have SWAP enabled, try to remove its partition from the sd card and reinstall the ROM without swap.
I had only troubles with Swap/Odex checking while inatalling ROM, so yeah, worth trying.
Also, it still can be HARDWARE issue as nothing (which should) helps.
If unchecking swap wont help, i'd suggest doing hard reset and if WM has same problem, go to HTC or any GSM store, maybe big heads can help with that then.
I hope You will get it sorted out!

Long time ago had similar issue. Problem was in phone and second factor slowly dying sdcard.
I fix my problem by flashing back to wm6.5 then after did install back MAGLDR used newer Cwm (dont use old 3.x.x version). Ofc bought new sdcard.
My advice would be try now while you are on Wm 6.5 this rom, its SRAM version, meaning you will run from wm and it will be loaded in RAM so no messing with sdcard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868306
If it works, try to flash Magldr, don't use HSPL 3.3 instead use older 2.8, also don't use Cwm 3.x.x use instead 5.x.x version.
When you install android allways follow instructions especially how much system, data partition size must be and if you install JB version try NativeSd if your card is good one.
Hope it helps.

This happened to my phone also difference being it didn't freeze all the time but literally half of the time whenever i got an incoming call. I did all the stuff being suggested here and tried multiple roms without success. Then i removed task killer after a fresh install of "CM9ight_leo_v1.1a_div2" rom and my phone hasn't freezed since, been two months now.
