Running PRIME 1.4 with patch 6 update.
what is it safe to delete, and what can i definitely NOT delete. i wish to get the crap apps from my app drawer.
no more:
cifsmanager
my cloud
my books (didnt work anyway)
press reader
zinio
my net
layar
kindle market
these seem to just be apps so hopefully wont have an adverse affect on the stability of the build.... unless anyone has any experience deleting these and breaking something?
i did uninstall those things, i have noticed needing to reboot more than.often. but i renamed the telephony stuff as well
just deleted them, nothing bad so far.
Hi
I was wondering if there's a workaround in how to remove preinstalled apps from kindle fire. It's frustrating as I wanted to give Fire's to my kids and I don't really want them to have FB access. I thought I could control what apps live on the Fire but apparently Amazon has decided for us. I wish this had been on the product page.also it consumes a lot of RAM.
Thanks
Root it & utilize an app like Titanium Backup to freeze or remove the unneeded apps.

You do realize that the FB app on the fire just points to the site using the browser, so even if you remove the "app" they can still use the browser to get to all kinds of stuff right including Facebook, twitter, adult sites and much more? Not sure of the age of the kids, but this is a media device and as such, they will have full access to a lot of stuff you may not want them to access.
The FB app itself doesn't use much RAM at all since it is not really an app.
Thanks A lot krelvinaz

Try this app. It works great & you can control what your kids can get to. I intend to set it up on the ones we got ours for Christmas. They will only have access to the apps I load up for them. I did try to install it on my Droid X & it just locked it down at the loading screen. I had to connect the thing to the computer to uninstall it!! One tip, don't lock the home button. The home button will get them to the regular home screen, but they'll still be locked out of any unapproved apps, even without that home button locked.

I think you can do something with the hosts file too. Like how adfree blocks ad sites, you might be able to edit and add facebook.com in and it would stop it from working, browsers too.
i couldn't find an answer but does anyone have instructions on how/where to load up mobis for the kindle app on cm7? currently I am on stock rooted 6.2.2 and have being toying around with the idea of getting on cm7. the only hesitation I have is when it comes to sideloading books for the Kindle Reader app. can anyone give me info on how to do this and hopfully retaining standed features like bok titles and correct cover art.
Also I would prefer to use the Kindle Launcher but as far as i know that is not possible as of now.
failing that What is a good 3rd party reader that has a clean UI?

Create a "kindle" folder on the root of the sdcard and place your files there.
okay so i got barebones cm7 installed, kindle app installed, however when i use calibre to send books it sends to:
Kindle/Documents/
instead of
Kindle/kindle/
also when I manually move the books to the correct directory, i can see them in the app but I have no covers. help?
The books did show up with covers when you ran CM7? I've had some books that didn't have covers. Also I have noticed that some of the covers show up microscopic compared to the normal books.
One thing about the CM9 version of Kindle.App is that the margins are not all the way to the side and the font is large. (yes I know you can adjust the font but even when you put it all the way down it is still pretty big compared to normal)
So I happened to find these apps, I'm using G6 from Korea (G600L). I posted this thread in G6 Q&A already and seems like not so many people know
I'm not sure if these apps are safe to unsintall (Adb shell pm uninstall)
It would be great if anyone could tell me

Any updates? Even if you share your progress so far would be highly appreciated!
As a general rule, unless you're 100% certain, you shouldn't uninstall system apps you're even remotely unsure about. Your safest bet would be to use an app like Root Uninstaller Pro to "freeze" them and see if any side effects come about on your phone. If so, you can unfreeze them and keep testing what you can and can't disable. LG MLT is something you should definitely get rid of, and apart from the PC/Sync packages you listed there (Which you could remove if you don't intend to use LG PC Suite with your phone) I wouldn't go fully removing any others.

I be getting another v20 some time this week i be doing a downgrade, another root video and then the deboat
Can you send me the vpndialogs.apk because I installed this room and it appears that vpndialogs was not included
Whars up i know no one saw the debloat video i been going through some personal problems here and there but i would love to tell you all that ever since i deboated my phone it still works along with some tweaks cause i would have the phone crash and all. I dont have a eta at the moment as i am also swapping rooms with a friend where i stay at. I do apologize for a long wait
I've disabled these:
Amazon Kindle
Audible
Calendar (I installed Google's)
Caller Name ID
Cloud
Cloud Print
File Manager (I installed ES file explorer)
IMDb
Lg Health
Message + (I use Google's)
Music
NFL Mobile
QuickRemote
Slacker Radio
Support & Protection
ThinkFree Viewer
VZ Navigator
Below are the apps I have disabled on my Verizon LG V20 (VS995). Remember to be careful, if you disable any of these apps or features that you use they will no longer function.
Non-System apps: Amazon Kindle, Android Pay, Audble, Caller Name ID, Chrome, Cloud, Cloud Print, Gmail, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Music, Hangouts, IMDb, LG Health, Messages+, NFL Mobile, Quick Remote, Slacker Radio, Support & Protection, ThinkFree Viewer, VZ Navigator.
System apps: AppFlash, Bold & Black, Bookmark Provider, DT Ignite (May be called "Mobile Servives Manager"), Handwriting, Hangouts, High Contrast, OK Google enrollment, Print Services Recommendation Service, Print Spooler, SnapPage, Tags, Talkback, Tasks Storage, Trusted Face.
i am too doing a ABD to remove bloatware and i was wondering what is a list of bloatware you can remove from the LG V20 without causing harm to your phone and it has att crap too...
Hiya,
I have some old Android tablets lying around, two of which are Kindle Fires. I'd like to figure out some use for them.
One thought is making one connected all the time to a to-do list app (like Google Keep) and have that mounted on a wall. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions and getting an extremely barebones ROM on a Kindle Fire, but with the ability to login to Google and use up-to-date apps like Google Keep. Preferably it would be "pinned" that that app all the time. Wondering if there is a ROM that eliminates the launcher entirely and just goes to a single app (but with the ability to do full authentication with a Google account)
Thanks for any help!
This probably could be done - like you say, we'd need to have a non-stock rom that could utilize the tablet features of the kindle instead of the reader features.
I like the idea a lot!
I'll see what I can dig up, since I also have this tablet and would like to do that as well.
